Yes, this thrift store is really nice with a lot of good quality stuff and it's actually reasonably priced for a thrift store. I've been doing the "thrift thing" and yard sales for over 30 years and recently it's become popular so pricing at thrift stores have become almost as expensive as department stores with coupons. Ridiculous! The store is not like that and it's helping homelessness and underprivileged communities, including helping one of our local high schools. Very tidy. And when I purchased something, they gave me a coupon which I'm all about as well. read more

If you need to cut back on staff or hours...do so, but don't cut back on your donors. I already drive 7-miles to drop off my goods and I have been happy to do so. BUT NOW, you limit the hours? This is not your hoity-toity, ladies-who-do-lunch kind of thrift shop. This is a place where you might see folks who are down and out, a bit on the fringe, or just plain bargain hunters like me! There's a young man who works here who wears a tutu! The funky girl behind the counter has tattoos. You get the idea...that being said, you can find some cool deals here if you know what to look for. I've purchased Disney VHS tapes for $0.99 (yes, I have a VHS player that still works!). I found a Disney Fantasia hat for $5.99 (probably retailed for $45). If you know your designer labels, you can find treasure amongst the less desirable stuff...I found a Hugo Boss sweater for $5.99, a Hurley tshirt for $1.99 and my greatest deal yet...a Liz Claiborne long red pure SILK suit jacket for $9.99 (unworn, tags on, retailed for $228!!!) Was searching to donate the children's clothes, shoes and toys we've accumulated throughout the years with a growing toddler and due to covid, I was not lucky with finding a place that would take our pre-loved, barely used, almost new condition pieces. Called shelters and they were not taking any however I was told that ACTS Thrift store donated their profit to places like homes and orphanages etc so ofcourse we dashed right on over. Parked and dropped off our donations and the gentleman was loading the morning donations into their back storage and was very friendly, very informative and accommodating. I would truly call first given their donation times have been limited due to the covid situation plus everyone is understaffed right now. read more

Love this store. It's shares a lot with 711, so if you don't find any thing good you can always buy yourself a slurpee and a lotto ticket. Either way never a waste of time to check to see what's new. Oh and there is always new items to peep. I recommend. read more

This is a small thrift store in a center with 7-11. The staff are friendly, the store is neat & it's not too crowded. The prices are not amazing unless you find a color that yields 50% or 75% but that makes the hunting more exciting. I'll always prefer a thrift store that requires some digging and a discerning eye over one that's highly curated, mostly because of the prices (but also because of the thrill). ACTS is really small but packs a punch for sure. Shop here for home and kitchen stuff, holiday decorations, and decor. If you're crafty, definitely check out their craft supply section--it isn't huge, but I found some real gems there. The clothes section was just okay and they didn't have much in the way of furniture (or at least didn't while I was there), so I'd look elsewhere if you're in the market for those things. They had a section of special stuff (think juicers, blenders, sound equipment) behind the front desk. I didn't look too closely or inquire about prices, but worth perusing for sure. I left with a cool vase, some spoons, and some craft tools and was given a 50% off coupon for a visit the following week. I'd say the only downsides to this place are parking and the fact that it can get a little crowded. I'll probably avoid all thrift stores on the weekends (kind of a best practice for all the time, but especially during COVID. ACTS shares a lot with 7 Eleven and there weren't any spots available when I visited, but I was able to find something across the street on Washington. read more

With COVID19 scares shutting downs businesses all over SoCal--and schools and work closed for months on end-- we had some time to do a little spring cleaning. Problem is, once you bagged and stacked all this stuff, none of the thrift shops or donation centers were open, let alone scheduling pick ups. We finally found this store open until 7 PM, and made the longer-than-pleasant drive from Arcadia. The good news: drop off was a breeze-- just pull in the back, empty the stuff out, and off you go. If you want a receipt, they request a bunch of contact info, but not a big deal. Getting rid of clutter in the garage and helping out good causes & people in need. It's a win-win. read more

Went here for the first time yesterday, just before closing. This place is great! Really friendly and cool staff, well organized stuff, clean, and definitely some scores. Looking forward to coming back and having more time to really delve into what they have. [We had hit MeowMeowz right before this and really hated it. It wasn't really 80s, it was super overpriced and just seemed like a bunch of cheap knockoffs for the most part.] ACTS is the real deal. This thrift store is a bit cramped and not as organized as some, but better than others. Prices overall are fine. I'm being generous with the 4th star, but the lack of dressing room + being nervous about parking at 7/11 were big negatives for me since the 7/11 had signs saying they would tow. I did get a few great pieces here, but it was mostly pretty cheap brands. read more

They moved locations. The new location is tiny. I was so sad to discover this. The original location on Locust was my favorite place to shop. It was my peaceful, get-lost-in-the-huge-array-of-mysterious-finds Mecca. I found some of my favorite, most treasured items there and now it is no more. Yeah, I feel melodramatic about this! The good thing is, the lady who is so great at organizing and beautifying the merchandise is still doing her thing. She is a gem. If she's reading this, I mean it! You're great! Also, my man found some really great shirts (Michael Kors, Penguin, etc) which was a surprise since it's such a small shop. The prices are still very good, too. There is no furniture at this new location but I understand there will be a Pomona location that will feature a giant selection of furniture. I can't wait to give that a go. read more

I would like to give my sincere thanks to this organization for the generosity and kindness they showed me and my family last Monday, January 2nd. Our family's little chihuahua-poodle mix (Wendy) and I were attacked by three pit bull dogs who were off the leash at the base of Charles White Park. They repeatedly bit our 5 year-old pup and knocked me down to the ground. While we were rushing our dog to the emergency vet, she bled profusely from her numerous bites resulting in my shirt and sweatshirt being soaked in her blood. While my son took her in to the emergency vet, my daughter-in-law and I tried to get home but were repeatedly stopped by traffic control related to the Rose Bowl parade. We eventually stopped at this small shopping center where my daughter-in-law went into the ACTS Thrift Store to find a shirt I could change into. She didn't have cash and the credit card minimum was $5 so the cashier **insisted she take a shirt for free and later refused any cash from me when offered**. This is the type of personal concern, care and regard that makes us a true community of human beings. Although they would not accept any money at the time of the incident, I am going to make a cash donation to this non-profit organization and I hope other Yelp readers will do so as well and/or donate their clothes and other items generously. Thank you so much ACTS! (In case you are wondering, our pup sadly died and I was bruised. The attacking dogs and their owner are under investigation by the Pasadena Humane Society.) read more

This thrift store is really reasonably priced compared to others I have been. The only reason I deducted one star is because I preferred the location on Hill which was much larger. This location is small and has a very hectic parking area with limited space. I sometimes don't come just because of the parking issue. The residential parking can be difficult as well. I have mainly purchased glass ware at this location (glasses and vases). They are usually $1-3 and in great condition. My most recent purchase was some stemless glasses (4) and a vase (1). All items were under $6 and on sale for half off the tag price. This is my second time purchasing a vase here and I am very satisfied. I will continue returning for the glassware alone. read more

okay first off, people are not over exaggerating when they say that the employees here are super nice! every employee that i interacted with were patient and helpful and just overall genuinely kind. the young man accepting the donations (8am-12pm only) was very nice and even offered to carry the donations for me from my car. he gave me a slip to fill out and a coupon to use in the store. i went inside to check it out and noticed the cashier being very nice to a customer that was literally talking her head off about his day, life, family and beyond! she did not once rush him! i was amazed. it was very sweet. overall, great experience. will definitely be donating to this store from now on. Had some fairly nice furniture to donate and made an appointment for their premium service where I was going to pay for the pickup. I thought it was a hassle free way to help a charity, so I didn't mind paying. Got confirmation of a pickup time from their affiliate Resupply. Took the day off work and they did not show. No call, nothing. I called them as the time interval was ending. They apologized and said, oh no one was available today. I asked if we could reschedule and the representative said she'd get back to me. Later they texted me to find another local charity. All of this wouldn't have bothered me had they given me notice. But I took time off work and had new furniture scheduled for delivery the next day. All of this was very inconvenient. read more

I'm updating this review post Covid because I am very impressed. This shop really came thru for us. It's clean in here. It's organized. They allow enough people in so that you are not standing in a line with a mask on during a heat wave. You don't feel like you wandered into a scene from Three Mile Island. I have seen such kindness here. I should mention that I have seen other thrift stores yell at and chase the homeless away. Looking at you Goodwill. Looking at you Out of the Closet and Salvation Army. But they were so kind here. It meant so much to me in these hard times to see that. That alone would have changed my mind about this store. I am sure than anyone who donates to thrift stores thinks that they are helping the less fortunate. Well here is the ultimate test really. I don't want to give anything to a thrift store that makes life harder for the homeless. It's really not their fault that they got moved into such a small place. Yes, it is small. Yes they have no fitting rooms, but no one else does either now. It's the wild west and hopefully we all have measuring tapes and know how to upcycle. Or redonate. The parking is insane here. That's also not in their control. I have seen some of the craziest parking here, things you can't imagine. Like a Giant Fritos truck and a police car blocking the entrances completely while all the spots inside the lot are open. It's really crazy in there. So there's that. I mean, if you park on the street, you will be walking a tiny bit but it may be worth it. I have nothing but good things to say about the staff here. Amira is the kindest person and has the best memory I have ever seen. Giovanni is hilarious. Cam is a sweetheart and omg that laugh! Destiny is wonderful. There's more, and they are all great. Frank does an amazing job displaying their jewelry. I have talked to some of the other volunteers and they are positive and upbeat. I really appreciate that. Their sales are so plentiful that people get confused. But it's really ok, because they figure it out. They are the only store I have been to that did not jack the prices up after Covid. Which is wonderful. The things I find here I can't find other places for these prices. It's really nice. The things I have seen at the other thrift stores is nothing like what I see here.
