While scrolling through Instagram I happened to see a post for $1 sale at a thrift store in Alhambra. I saved it and marked the date. Main Street Attraction is a nonprofit thrift run by volunteers. Proceeds from sales go to benefit local charities and fund college scholarships for women in the local area. When I arrived there were about 10 people lined up out front waiting for the store to open. All items were on sale for $1 with the exception of Men's Suits and a few high end designer pieces. Inside you will find a little of everything. Clothes, shoes, and accessories for men, women, & children as well as books and household items. Everything was nicely laid out. The store was clean & organized and all items were in good condition. The prices are very reasonable, which makes this store a great place to pick up items that you don't want to spend too much money on. I scored an adorable Nicole Miller bolero jacket as well as a few other items for $1 each. Personally I didn't really like this place. We went on a Wednesday because theirs online hours said they were open-false start because they were actually closed. I had to suggest their actual hours so that their website reflected that. Everything is donated and appears to be fast fashion-think SHEIN and lots of polyester, everything goes to charity so there's that I suppose. The workers are entirely volunteer based which makes for a poor system, resulting in the service being almost too attentive with the staff immediately asking what you're looking for and approaching you the minute you pull something off to get a closer look. For example I had to remove some dresses to even be able to look at the dresses but one of the volunteers asks if I wanted her to hold them but then stood there waiting for me to be done which felt uncomfortable to say the least. Because everyone's a volunteer they're bored and try to be "too helpful" in that you can't look in peace and feel constantly watched. In addition the racks were packed way too tight, making it almost impossible to look at the clothes individually. Hard pass for me thank you. read more

Main Street attraction is the best place to thrift! There is great service, a diverse selection of items ranging from decor to clothes, and a reasonable pricing. They are also a non-profit mother-daughter organization that donates all profits to scholarships. Go figure! read more

Wouldn't recommend for my curvy girls ): theres only one small sad rack of ugly clothes for anyone xL and up. Prices on their knick knacks are reasonable, i was able to find picture frames and small toys for a dollar each and the women here were super helpful and nice. They just need more selection because everything looks like it came out of my grandma's closet! read more

The clothing options were mainly not my style so I can't say I would recommend but they did have many clothings that they sell!

The sweet middle-aged British/Australian woman (I'm not sure where her accent is from) and staff members were really nice and helpful. I got what I wanted for Halloween shopping and the prices are great. The manager is also willing to haggle or bargain prices with you if you present your case. There's a lot of vintage dresses here. I spotted some jacquard patterned dresses on the rack. They have shoes and accessories on sale as well. The "fitting room" is right next to the counter. read more

I love this store! Came here late morning for the first time and was pretty impressed with what I found. Everything was nicely laid out, clean and organized. All of the clothing I saw was in very good condition. There is clothing here for men, women, juniors and children. When I came in today, all children's clothes happened to be 50% off. There is mostly clothes sold here, but they also have a small selection of stuffed animals and a few bookshelves of books. They also have a few racks of men and women shoes as well. The pricing here is very, very cheap. There are a few dressing rooms in here so you can try things on. Employees here are pretty friendly. All items, as most 2nd hand places/ thrift stores, are final sale. Some parking on the street, but even more in the back. Would totally come back here again! read more

I've been here once, and The store is promising. A lot of the clothes were selectively chosen and current. I felt there were so many clothes that would suit college students who are into girly clothing, and many of these clothings are great quality. It didn't look worn at all or out of date. I highly recommend shopping here on their sale day. It's worth it. The mission statement is stellar and wonderful. The girls working there are volunteers, and are very kind and polite. It beats the salvation army at temple city any day. read more

The best kept secret in the San Gabriel Valley! This charity resale shop just switched over to all fashion, and boy am I glad the dusty old junk is gone. They've redesigned the store, and now the clothing really shines. It's still a work in progress, but it's SO much better. Luv the "designer" section up front. Got a Ralph Lauren jacket for $10, a Lily Pulitzer skirt for $8 and an armload of Banana Republic shirts for $5 each. Many things are even lower priced. Styles and labels vary - but finding a real gem is totally possible. Heard they are adding a Vintage department soon. Can't wait! Alhambra location keeps this shop off the radar. Oh... and now they have a $1.00 sales rack everyday. FAB! read more

Love this little shop for thrifting! They have a bit of clothing for all- mens, women and kids of all sizes, along with household tidbits. Always new stuff coming in. From Target brands to serious designer- loungewear to formalwear. Prices are really low so it's great if you need to stock up. The people who work there are always so friendly. One of them told me all the money goes to scholarships for your women in our area which makes me feel really good about shopping here. Turns out the staff are all volunteers! Next time my son needs a suit for speech and debate I'm coming here. And I'm referring my friends who's girls need gymnastic outfits. read more

This is a great thrift shop with amazing prices and selection. It is worth stopping by on a regular basis because they are always getting new merchandise. The clothes are well priced. They have lots of women's, men's and children's clothing, as well as shoes, accessories and home goods. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There are regular sales. I went in but I didn't buy anything. Though, there is a necklace that was in the display case... The friendly cashier girl told me that they just put it out. It has been 3 months and that necklace is still BURNED in my mind! WHY didn't I buy it? Because I thought it would just be a whimsical buy but now, looking back, I realized "man! i'm sucha dummy!" They have some bored games but the one that I thought was interesting was missing pieces. You really need to search in order to find something you will like. I visited today and found the store very neat and clean. Personally, I didn't think there was a wide range in selection, but there seemed to be a few decent finds if you try hard enough. The prices are really good so I may return in the future. The staff was friendly and welcoming and there are dressing rooms available so that you can make sure your purchases actually fit and suit you before leaving. The store is well-organized and there definitely are a few bargains if you look hard enough. I'm giving it three stars mainly because I didn't think the store was amazing but I'm definitely going to give it another try in the future. read more

I LOVE thrift stores! Its like looking for buried treasure. I'm also a hoarder of knick knacks, actually my hubbie and I both are. So what a sweet treat to find Main Street Attraction. Sure its not as big as the Salvation Army, Out of the Closet or the Goodwill but that just means you don't have to fight the crowds. We found an awesome wooden elephant for $2! And a treasure chest looking item. Not sure what we'll use it for but it was $3! and its awesome. Staff is friendly, shop is well organized, and stuff is super cheap! They have mens, womens and kids clothing. Books, DVDs and lots of odds and ends. If you happen to be on main street I suggest you stop by. read more

Had a great experience here yesterday. As I understand it, all of the store "employees" are volunteers, and the proceeds fund college scholarships for local girls. The ladies are courteous and seem to enjoy their work. It's a thrift store, which means that their merchandise is donated (I don't think they purchase it), so the prices are lower than your average consignment store. However I think their merchandise is a cut above Goodwill or Salvation Army. After a half hour of digging, I found a dress and shoes. The labels are ones I would normally see at Nordstrom for $125-200. I paid $15 for both items, including sales tax. Yay! Store hours could be more convenient, but considering it's a volunteer-staffed thrift store I commend it for being well-organized, welcoming, and having good, low-priced merchandise. read more

This is a pretty good thrift store. I've only been here once but when I came EVERYTHING in the store was $1! YES. Everything! That's insane! I've never been to a thrift store that had such a good deal. Buuuuuut even though it was a great deal I didn't really find anything I wanted :( huge bummer. I ended up leaving with a couple of items though but still I felt like a lot of the items was a miss. Everything is color coordinated which is nice and you can try on clothes in their dressing rooms. It's a small store located near the movie theater in Alhambra (not sure the name of the movie theater, but the newer one). It was easy for me to find because I had Google mapped it before heading down there so I knew what to look for. Like I mentioned earlier, the store is pretty small (the only reason for four stars) but they do have some pretty nice stuff and the store is very well kept and organize. They organized the clothes into different sections for women, men, boys, and girls, so it's easy to navigate throughout the store. I left the store with a $5 chunky knit sweater. (awesome!) The two ladies that worked there while I was there were nice. One thing to keep in mind though, they only take cards if you spent $15 minimum, anything below that is cash only. One of the very well organized thrift stores in the San Gabriel Valley. They organize the ladies tops by sizes (small, medium, large, etc.) They have a section of blazers, skirts, shorts, tee shirts, active/sports wear, pants (which is also organized by size) and many more. They have some shelves with a bunch of shoes such as heels and tennis shoes. The shoes are usually $3, but if they are brand new they should be around $6. The back of the store are children's' clothing and mens clothes. There are many prom dresses which is pretty awesome. They have lots of brand name clothing such as Ann Taylor, Old Navy, Forever 21, Chico's, etc. You can absolutely find something nice. The fitting rooms are pretty nice as well. Bright lights and a nice mirror. The lady working there was very generous and brought her daughter along with her. Aw. She told me how much each of the clothing I picked out were. :) Most of the items are $5 or less. I recently bought a nice pink blouse for $5 and a skirt from Forever 21 for $5. Very well kept store, clothing is sorted by size and nothing looks crammed in or overstuffed like some thrift shops. It looks like they just started a vintage section, it's pretty small as of now but I can't wait to see it grow. Very reasonable prices too, I'd probably stop by again when I'm in the area. read more

I have been searching for a vintage 1950's style long pleated skirt or 1950's style dress so I came here to see if they had anything. First, when you walk in no one greets you. I go by the dresses and see two ladies talking to each other while the cashier is helping a customer. The lady in the apron with the shop's name on it looks at me and goes right back to her convo, seriously lady? Do I need help? Yes I do, did she ask no. I thought maybe she's talking with a customer. Nope, turns out she's talking to someone else who works there also and when the cashier finishes ringing the customer up she joins in on the convo while I the customer is wandering around lost, looking through random racks. Did any one of the three ladies say one word to me? NO! What great customer service you all have! Needless to say I didn't find what I was looking for and left within the first 10 minutes and am not planning on ever going back! read more

This place is okay. I didn't like my first experience here. The employees kept staring at me suspiciously like if I was going to steal something like yo!!! You trippin, son. Its okay tho. But anyways I'm never coming back here, the prices suck. They failed to mention you need to spend initial $15 to pay with a CREDIT card. Like bruh!!! I'm 18 i don't have any credit!!!!
