My brother-in-law recommended checking out Society of St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Lincoln…read moreHeights, and since it was my first time visiting, I was excited to see what it was all about. First off this place is huge! There's so much to browse through, and most sections are fairly well organized, though a few shelves and aisles looked pretty picked over and messy, which I mostly avoided. Still, the selection here is impressive. They carry everything from furniture, purses, shoes, and clothing to appliances, books, CDs, VHS tapes, DVDs, jewelry, electronics, vinyl records, dishes, and toys. My brother-in-law and I spent some time in the toy section and we both actually ended up leaving with some teddy bears. His was only $3, and when he looked it up in the store it was worth up to $70--he was so excited about that find! Overall my personal experience was very pleasant and the customer service I received was great. Most employees seemed friendly and helpful. I did notice a slightly awkward interaction between an older female employee and another customer browsing near the VHS/DVD and jewelry counter. The employee called out "next," which made it seem like she thought the customer was ready to check out. When the customer didn't respond right away, the employee called out louder to get her attention kinda sounded annoyed. The customer looked a little caught off guard and replied that she was just browsing before continuing to look around. It was a bit of an odd moment, but when that same employee ended up checking us out, everything went smoothly and we had no issues. Overall it was a fun thrifting trip and I'd definitely come back again. Next time I want to spend more time exploring the clothing section!

The space offers eclectic options for lots of different styles, but more importantly - they offer SIZING for most/all body types - which is uniquely uncommon. The price point is fine, most items in a 30+ range. I LOVE their jewelry selection, tons of good options and unique pieces. lastly the staff is very engaging and welcoming, another sadly unique quality. They only offer trade for what they buy from community, but I feel the relationship with the sellers reflects the quality of items they are bringing into the space.

I decided to pop in today after a long time and the selection is still pretty good. Prices are definitely good compared to other vintage places but it's not welcoming at all anymore. No greeting. Not even a look in your direction unless you're lingering too long. I was super disappointed that when I was browsing a rack an employee came over and pushed all of the clothes towards me to put new clothes on the rack. It could have been a simple "oh pardon me" or anything but he shoved them as I was looking. Maybe it wasn't intentional but it sure felt like it. I might give it another chance and I hope it was just a one off experience. Good value means nothing when a place is unwelcoming.
