Went in today for a frame and found exactly that. Cuff links were $5. Frame $2. Tie $1. And dog bowls with tray 50 cents. Please EXPECT a not-so-quick check-out because these are older folks. They are very very kind! But be patient! Everyone is chatty. Everyone is nice. Questions aren't always answered in seconds and you may have to wait for written purchase slips. This store has a lot of antique/vintage jewelry for sale, particularly silver and semi-precious stones, as well as a good amount of costume jewelry. It also has quite a bit of home-ware, porcelain and kitchen-gadgets. Some sections can really pull you in, like old back issues of Times Magazines or other periodicals. Hodgson's is a great place to explore for an hour or so to find something unique or special for a friend or for your own home. Price-wise it's middle-of-the-road, not dirt cheap, but not super-expensive either. Worth a visit. Keep in mind that this place is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

If you are a fan of the Huntington Collection in Pasadena, you'll be sure to love the Bargain Box. Just like the Huntington Collection, I can't call it a thrift shop since it's not like any thrift shops I've been to! Looks more like an expensive antique shop when you step inside. I was blown away by the quality of the available merchandise, especially the housewares and decor. It's very evident that all of the pieces on sale were meticulously cleaned and staged by the hardworking staff. All of the furniture and housewares are excellent condition, not to mention very well priced. Make a point to visit before Halloween! The store is all decked out with Halloween decor! The Bargain Box is managed by the Assistance League of Arcadia, and one of their worthy endeavors is Operation School Bell, which provides much needed clothing as well as school supplies such as backpacks and books to children in need in neighboring local schools. There's a small parking lot but there should be plenty of street parking available if needed. Also, be aware that the store has limited hours since it's managed by volunteers. It's only open two days a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10am to 1pm.

The lot is on the smaller side and it fills up pretty quickly. There is plenty of street parking on Live Oak, but that also fills up on Wednesdays. If you arrive a little before opening there is usually a short line outside to get in, but there is never a mad rush to get in or anything, so don't let the line scare you away!
