Having worked on vintage spaces, I can be a bit of a snob. The bearded beagle is such a perfect intersection of taste, service, and customer service. The space offers eclectic options for lots of different styles, but more importantly - they offer SIZING for most/all body types - which is uniquely uncommon. The price point is fine, most items in a 30+ range. I LOVE their jewelry selection, tons of good options and unique pieces. lastly the staff is very engaging and welcoming, another sadly unique quality. They only offer trade for what they buy from community, but I feel the relationship with the sellers reflects the quality of items they are bringing into the space. read more

I miss the old space and the old vibe. I've only been here a few times since they moved but I used to frequent it before. I decided to pop in today after a long time and the selection is still pretty good. Prices are definitely good compared to other vintage places but it's not welcoming at all anymore. No greeting. Not even a look in your direction unless you're lingering too long. I was super disappointed that when I was browsing a rack an employee came over and pushed all of the clothes towards me to put new clothes on the rack. It could have been a simple "oh pardon me" or anything but he shoved them as I was looking. Maybe it wasn't intentional but it sure felt like it. Pros: Very organized (separated by category, color, and men/women), unique items (they take time to curate items that you may not find elsewhere), and good quality (items seem highly satisfactory to almost new). Service workers are usually friendly. One of the better thrift stores on the street. Cons: Price (some pieces may not be worth the price and you could be better off buying some shirts or other items new) and you could have trouble donating your items there as they could be selective in what they choose to keep. The Bearded Beagle is a cool vintage/consignment shop in my hood. I often walk by and admire the window displays, which are cleverly curated, and stop in from time to time to see what is new. The clothing racks are spread out and aren't cramped, which makes it easier to sift through the clothes. Everything is categorized and well organized. I passed by on a Sunday evening and noticed a vintage New Orleans Saints Tee on one of the mannequins. It was unique because it had the Tasmanian Devil (Looney Tunes) wearing Saints gear. I made a mental note to come back when they were opened to get it. I was back on Monday and asked the salesperson about it. She said that items in the window are available for purchase on Fridays, but I could pay for it now and pick it up on Friday. She told me the price and said it was an XL. I was bummed because I'm an XS. Since I'm a die-hard Saints fan, I thought about going back on Friday to pick it up just so I could have it. It was vintage after all. Of course, I was busy and didn't make it to the store. On Saturday I received a text from a friend, who also lives in my neighborhood, asking if he could stop by and drop something off that he had for me. When he arrived he handed me a gift bag and said, "It's a little late but Happy Birthday." Imagine my surprise when I opened it and saw the vintage New Orleans Saints Tee that I had been eyeing from Bearded Beagle. I guess it was meant to be! We both agreed that with a little altering I could make it work and would be able to wear it during Football Season. I am super upset. I went to this new location last weekend and fell in love with a pair of pants. I was told I sadly could not purchase them until the following Friday when the merchandiser came in. I set my alarm and have been waiting to go get them. I called and was told they were sold. They were not sold today but prior in the week. I feel like being told you can't purchase something and you have to wait then being told they were sold to someone else is extremely bad customer service. read more

The curation is pretty solid but prepare this outing as a treat to yourself because the prices are high. A good handful of my vintage purchases in the past few years have been from here and I love them dearly. Come here for their denim rack if anything! My one issue with the Bearded Beagle, and what's giving me a hard time wanting to come back, is the unwelcoming energy from the staff. It can feel uncomfortable shopping there sometimes, especially during off hours when there aren't many customers but a handful of people behind the counter. The whispering and giggling is unprofessional and I've heard extremely rude comments from them while they go through the clothes people bring in to sell. Other than that, the clothing selection is wonderful and their music is rocking. It's a fun little afternoon trip. read more

My friend knows just how much of a sucker I am for buying pre-loved clothes (I love vintage goodies). Came here with him and another friend about a month ago, and I instantly fell in L O V E. Walked in from a dry, hot, sweltering LA summer day to a blast of refreshing AC, and we were greeted by the employees right as we walked in. God, I loved the way the shop was set up so that the clothing racks weren't cramped to the max and I could actually admire each piece without having to forcefully shove some hangers off to the side to do so. The short racks were also spread out throughout the shop (as opposed to just long rows of racks that seem to go on forever) to make sifting through the clothes a lot easier, as they were categorized by type of clothing/vibe. They also had a lot of beautiful pieces hung up on the walls, couldn't help but stop and just stare for a minute... or five. Within 30 seconds of walking into the store, I found these sick ass pink Burberry sneakers!!!! Best believe I snatched those up ASAP. They offered so much vintage pieces, I was cryin. I left the store with the kicks, a vintage oversized Guess shirt, and my new favorite T-shirt that was hella edgy (and I don't wear T-shirts often!!). Overall, the Bearded Beagle offers a curated selection of unique, one-of-a-kind pieces for a fair price. If this were closer to home, I'd be here at least once every two weeks!! read more

I bought an 80s shirt that I'm pretty sure my dad wore when he was my age and I love it. The staff was so nice and friendly as well! The vintage clothes are decently priced and in great condition. The parking in the area is kind of spotty (it also didn't help that peeps were filming a movie a couThe prices are meh. ple doors down) BUT This place is a gem. The staff here was so helpful and really helped me look for items I needed. I ended up walking out with a Sinatra vinyl (which couldn't make me happier). I would come back for some unique dresses and splurge on some vintage D&B purses. They have both a men's and women's clothing section, a myriad of lingerie, scarves, accessories, as well as vinyls and other things. I would recommend it over the other shops down the street. Stopped in this weekend while my boyfriend was getting his hair cut across the street. Walked in just to kill time and I'm glad that I did. Came out with two great well-worn (but with plenty of mileage left) pairs of 501s. Anywhere else in LA, these will run you $60-$100 a pop, but these were priced well below. The shop also had a great selection of vintage tees, all in that perfect state of being worn in to tissuey perfection, but not too thread bare (these tees will run you about $60+ at places like American Rag) for around $20. For those balking that they can get brand new tees at Urban & Forever 21 for the same price, please go shop there and leave these authentic vintage tees for the rest of us. :) read more

Let's start with the good - Their clothes are really cute, the perfect kind of thrift shop with novelty, vintage and pop culture tee. Their vintage Dooney and Bourke purses/wallets are actually reasonably priced. However, I was incredibly disappointed when I looked at the price tags for their shirts; a range of $14-$18 for a used tee? No thanks! It's been used! I understand the cool underlying concept of thrifting but not for 18 bucks a shirt. I can get the same new one at Urban Outfitters... Too too bad, I was a regular at Crossroads in Pasadena, but I felt like I could have found my new regular spot. No way. Id rather walk to the Forever 21, unfortunately. read more

This vintage shop is spacious and well stocked/curated. I always find something cute! Friendly staff as of late too. Definitely a must visit if you're a fan of vintage and unique pieces. I bought SEVERAL 70s shirts for my husband to try on for a party with the understanding that whatever he didn't wear, I could return. Not the case. This store is awesome, and it's going to be a problem, because I plan on going back on a monthly basis. They had a great collection of short sleeve button downs, and their other items are very hip as well. The prices were reasonable, approximately $20 per classic shirt. The two store associates were helpful and down to earth. I'll be back. After searching for local thrift/vintage/consignment shops, I came across this one. I visited the store with my teenage son, a few days ago and no sales person was on the floor, we just heard voices in the back. Thereafter, two girls came out and they kept right on talking as if no customers were there, totally ignored us. No "hello""welcome" absolute no acknowledgement we were there. We walked around a bit and it wasn't until we were ready to walk out when one girl, now behind the counter, said "have a nice day" really???? Now you acknowledge us!!! Awesome selection of jeans! Both of my daughters found a couple pairs of jeans and shirts. Kind of pricey, but the clothing is in mint condition and my daughters wear the jeans all the time. Thrift stores are always a hit or miss, but this was definitely a hit! Has an overall ambiance that is actually more reminiscent of an Urban Outfitters than a thrift store. i'm a straight dude who's into fashion and this review is mostly for girls: i was here a few years back and i fuckin' LOVED this place. it was a carefully curated collection which i really appreciated. you do not have to be in the mood to dig to come here but they didn't have just a few overpriced things either. it was the perfect balance of price, volume, and curation. amazing prices!! i got an entire vintage Japanese nesting suitcase set for a lady friend and a late 80s North Face goose down for myself. for the 3 suitcases and down parka it was just a little over $100. the same at any other vintage store could have easily been $200+. the owner/s here must have morals. they still need to make a buck, but whatever they charge you, it's probably a fair price given what i paid and the prices i saw. for instance, i spotted some dope Dooney and Bourke bags for 20 bucks. i've seen the same in worse condition for $50+ at other vintage shops. great style sense to the collection as well. TLC overalls and several pairs of really sick high-waisted jeans which was ahead of the time when i was there. if i was a girl and had an entire day of vintage shopping lined up, i would have picked up a ton of stuff and spent half the day in this shop with zero regrets. i saw a Versace circa early-90s high-wasted skinny jean of the likes i never knew existed. i was legit impressed. obviously, i was shopping for the lady friend, otherwise i'd have some more feedback regarding the men's section. but for the guys, keep in mind i wasn't even LOOKING at guy shit and i still got sucked into buying a dope ass coat because it was such a great find. i remember being strongly tempted by several other men's pieces but i was trying extremely hard not to look as i had just spent a ton of money on myself. if you're planning on doing some shopping in LA, this place is a must-see for true fans of vintage!! read more

This is a great place! I usually don't even bother to go into small boutiques that clearly sell vintage clothing because they're pretty uniformly overpriced and stuffy. I'm glad I checked out the Beagle though! There are always good finds at totally reasonable prices. The owners are really nice and clearly care about their business, plus I think its awesome that they keep their prices in a range that people (who aren't dripping with trust fund money) can afford. Favorite new vintage spot in LA. This place is fantastic! Great selection of Women's and Men's vintage clothing, shoes, and accessories. They even have the best selection of vintage blankets in the city, plus a great vinyl collection to dig through. I always find something to buy here, unlike the other vintage stores around Hollywood and Los Feliz, which can sometimes feel like a waste of time. And, the prices are just as great as the selection!! read more
