The front of the store showcases a great selection of clothing in amazingly good shape. Along the walls and on a large table were some glassware and kitchen items. As I looked back, large lettering that spelled out FURNITURE directed me to the rear of the store. I took a couple steps in, then quickly went back to grab the husband. We spent most of our time looking through every inch of this room. There was so much to appreciate in the beautiful handcrafted solid wood furniture and in all the lovely decorative pieces. The nostalgia was wonderful. We've been on the hunt to complete a mid-century wrought iron patio set we found at Pasadena Flea Market. The Lucky Pig didn't have what we needed today, but I suspect we may find it on another day, so we'll be back!

First off this place is huge! There's so much to browse through, and most sections are fairly well organized, though a few shelves and aisles looked pretty picked over and messy, which I mostly avoided. Still, the selection here is impressive. They carry everything from furniture, purses, shoes, and clothing to appliances, books, CDs, VHS tapes, DVDs, jewelry, electronics, vinyl records, dishes, and toys. My brother-in-law and I spent some time in the toy section and we both actually ended up leaving with some teddy bears. His was only $3, and when he looked it up in the store it was worth up to $70--he was so excited about that find! Overall my personal experience was very pleasant and the customer service I received was great. Most employees seemed friendly and helpful. I did notice a slightly awkward interaction between an older female employee and another customer browsing near the VHS/DVD and jewelry counter. The employee called out "next," which made it seem like she thought the customer was ready to check out. When the customer didn't respond right away, the employee called out louder to get her attention kinda sounded annoyed. The customer looked a little caught off guard and replied that she was just browsing before continuing to look around. It was a bit of an odd moment, but when that same employee ended up checking us out, everything went smoothly and we had no issues. Overall it was a fun thrifting trip and I'd definitely come back again. Next time I want to spend more time exploring the clothing section!

So I usually make it a quick lunch break stop. But theyre open Saturdays!! The store is FULL of great stuff but also some not great stuff at low costs. Went in today for a frame and found exactly that. Cuff links were $5. Frame $2. Tie $1. And dog bowls with tray 50 cents. Please EXPECT a not-so-quick check-out because these are older folks. They are very very kind! But be patient! Everyone is chatty. Everyone is nice. Questions aren't always answered in seconds and you may have to wait for written purchase slips. They always change up the store to fit the holidays/celebrations etc

I decided to stop by their place and I also spotted this cute little trailer around corner that also sold vintage clothing. As I was browsing, I overheard the very grumpy lady from Velvet Threads tell an older lady (who might have been accompanying the trailer truck business) to MOVE herself and her chair off the sidewalk because it was HER SPACE. Like who does that ? She wasn't even in the way of either business and clearly she was a senior citizen. Then to top it off, she had a "tone" with just about everyone who asked her ANYTHING. All bad vibes and not someone who I'd want to support simply because of how they treat other people. Cute stuff and I saw a jacket I like, but HARD PASS.

I have been a loyal customer since the store opened. It is my "go-to" for gifts or if I want…read moresomething special for friends and family. I drive @45 minutes to get there and had actually selected a jacket for myself. I tried on the jacket and noticed that there was a $32 discrepancy between the coat on line versus in the store. I waited in the long line (holiday sale prompted throngs) and told (& showed her the jacket I had saved in my phone) the owner what happened. She asked me to wait to check. I waited a good 15 plus minutes during which time her assistant took down the coat from the web site and made it reflect the higher price. Then she brightly asked if I wanted to try it on again and I said no, I need to leave and then she said she wouldn't honor the price that was listed on line stating it was a human error and she was running a small business. I think it is bad form to not honor the price that was listed. She has known than I've brought friends who have spent significant money in her store and I come to her from great distance for years...this was their mistake and I think it's extremely poor form to not honor what was listed. This is customer service at its worse. So much for loyalty. I could easily have bought the jacket on line and picked it up at the store but I thought that would not have integrity. Come to think of it, her actions didn't have integrity. You would think she would cultivate keeping her loyal customer base. What a disappointment.
