They used to have a pretty sizable, well-organized men's selection but after re-organizing the store, the men's selection is maybe 1/4 the size of what it was. What does remain is terribly organized--wrong sizes abound in S/M/L sections, and the men's pants are now nearly 50% obviously women's pants (Easy to tell by the cut and sizing, size 12 instead of 34/30 or whatever). I can understand a few "misfiles" of women's clothes in the men's section, that happens everywhere, but for almost half of the pants to obviously be women's clothing? That's either a complete lack of care or someone really trying to abolish gender norms in clothes. Which I guess I'm all for in theory, but it does make it frustrating to browse and ascertain sizing. There are also no dressing rooms (again, this is every corporate thrift store post-COVID, and I guess I get the reasons but its still annoying) and they removed the only mirror in the men's section to put up display wiring on the wall--which they've yet to attach anything to months later. Chaotic and disorganized, this went from one of my favorite thrift stores in NELA to my least.

They are very very kind! But be patient! Everyone is chatty. Everyone is nice. Questions aren't always answered in seconds and you may have to wait for written purchase slips. They always change up the store to fit the holidays/celebrations etc

They especially boasted a strong collection of vintage women's clothing with vibrant colors and unique designs easily able to grab the attention of anyone walking by. OVER PRICED! Not nearly the same that it used to be. Items look like they are incorrectly priced literally ALL the time. Whoever is doing the pricing knows absolutely NOTHING about name brands and how to price items correctly. They put FAKE Gucci purses In the boutique where "higher priced" items go. Really? How could you price something that is clearly fake as high as $50-$80+? Complete IDIOTS who do the pricing! This store is clearly in it just for the money. What a FRAUD organization. Just about everything in this store is ridiculously priced. What a HUGE disappointment! I would not recommend this store to anyone. I have friends that don't even shop at acts anymore! There are so many more better thrift stores to go to! Let me not forget to mention that a lot of there items sometime have NO PRICES. So now the "policy" is they can not price it until the next day so you have to go back the following day to pick up the item which is completely ridiculous! What makes it worse is when you go back the next day and the item that you needed priced is NOT priced! Do the people in the back even do there job correctly?! It defeats the whole purpose of waiting until the next day to get an item if the workers in the back aren't going to price it anyways! Might as well let the supervisors price the items like they use to do! I think ACTS forget that they are JUST a thrift store and NOT a department store! They need to get it together FAST! I am a frequent shopper at ACTS. I like the store and I feel that all the staff are pretty friendly with an exception of one. They have this new supervisor who has the nastiest attitude ever. When she closes the store she is so rude and talks to customers with such a DEMANDING tone. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she was just having a bad day. I observed her on countless other visits and I noticed she just has NO customer service skills. She has such a DRY and UNFRIENDLY attitude. Who hires a supervisor like that to represent their store? I rather ask some of the sales associates for help before I ask her. At least they are more patient and friendly/helpful when it comes to dealing with customers. Majority of the time she doesn't even seem like she wants to be bothered so why be a supervisor at a thrift store that involves dealing with customers? read more

This store is the worse place to work at, i just found out they fired almost ALL there SPANISH speeking emoyees. Ever since a new manager took over they have been discriminating against them fired one by one with in months theres only one latin employee left, they put up the Spanish only policy at all times .. i couldnt believe the horrible stories they told me, its suppose to be Christian organization? Were going to do something about this because these people are left with no jobs... sad but true! read more

Use to be my favorite thrift store but now they are just way too OVER priced and these new supervisors are RUDE and very INCOMPETENT. On top of that they get new cashiers almost every week who have NO idea what they are doing and who move like turtles. The lines always end up being longer than they should be. The worse part is when they only leave one cashier at the register who is not only SLOW but has no idea what they are doing. No longer a fan of acts. :( read more

So Today was my first time ever visiting Acts and I loved it!! The store looked neat and everything looked as organized as any thrift store I have ever been in. And there was this young lady, Sidney, I believe she was the supervisor helped me, and she was awesome, even when I was questioning her about acts and the partners that were hanging above in the store. This is supposed to be a Christian organization and right now all I've seen is discrimination to the minorities. It is not okay that these hard working people get fired one after another because someone in a higher position doesn't like them because they're a different ethnicity. I would not recommend people shopping in a place where there is this much discrimination. read more

Acts thrift store is a rip off. They charged me $10 for a broken computer keyboard. They lied and said it would be marked if it did not work. They said it was tested but the keyboard batteries were so corroded that you couldn't have tested it. Very disappointing. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Bought an executive desk there this week for $56 and they were so helpful not only getting it into my car but also helping tie down the back with bungee chords and a red flag so I wouldn't get a ticket. Super helpful. Great bargains! read more

If you are a fan of the Huntington Collection in Pasadena, you'll be sure to love the Bargain Box. Just like the Huntington Collection, I can't call it a thrift shop since it's not like any thrift shops I've been to! Looks more like an expensive antique shop when you step inside. I was blown away by the quality of the available merchandise, especially the housewares and decor. It's very evident that all of the pieces on sale were meticulously cleaned and staged by the hardworking staff. All of the furniture and housewares are excellent condition, not to mention very well priced. Make a point to visit before Halloween! The store is all decked out with Halloween decor! The Bargain Box is managed by the Assistance League of Arcadia, and one of their worthy endeavors is Operation School Bell, which provides much needed clothing as well as school supplies such as backpacks and books to children in need in neighboring local schools. There's a small parking lot but there should be plenty of street parking available if needed. Also, be aware that the store has limited hours since it's managed by volunteers. It's only open two days a week, Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 10am to 1pm.

The lot is on the smaller side and it fills up pretty quickly. There is plenty of street parking on Live Oak, but that also fills up on Wednesdays. If you arrive a little before opening there is usually a short line outside to get in, but there is never a mad rush to get in or anything, so don't let the line scare you away!

Everything is donated and appears to be fast fashion-think SHEIN and lots of polyester, everything goes to charity so there's that I suppose. The workers are entirely volunteer based which makes for a poor system, resulting in the service being almost too attentive with the staff immediately asking what you're looking for and approaching you the minute you pull something off to get a closer look. For example I had to remove some dresses to even be able to look at the dresses but one of the volunteers asks if I wanted her to hold them but then stood there waiting for me to be done which felt uncomfortable to say the least. Because everyone's a volunteer they're bored and try to be "too helpful" in that you can't look in peace and feel constantly watched. In addition the racks were packed way too tight, making it almost impossible to look at the clothes individually. Hard pass for me thank you.
