My initial review: Stumbled back upon this nail spa today after another place in Acton couldn't honor my appointment when I got there- despite having sent me 3 text message reminders. I had been here years ago but was happy to see there are different owners now who were so kind and accommodating. On top of it, my nails (powder dip) look better than the other place. Update: Sadly, my next experience was not good. I called at 11:00 and was given an appointment for 11:30 for a pedicure. Well, I sat with my feet in water, that turned cold, for 40 minutes. When I asked how long it would be, they said-"When we are finished here. " One woman had just finished the customer next me at 12:05 and started on someone else. The other woman was in the middle of a pedicure. So I got up to leave. They tried to tell me they didn't have their full staff today-to which I asked why they would have given me an appointment. My guess is they figured I would just sit there in cold water. They actually then told me to, "Come back at 5:00." I'm never going back. read more

If I could post a review with zero stars, I would. I made an appointment for an acrylic fill. Was seated in a broken chair and repeatedly burned by the drill. Four nails were noticeably crooked and they were very grudgingly fixed. Hours later, all the acrylic was lifting. I went back to the salon and they said there's "nothing they can do". Shoddy work and it doesn't seem to bother them. Spend your money somewhere else. read more

Awww, I kind of love this place...... It is not fancy and there is very little English spoken here, but they are clean, kind and CHEAP! If you are looking for a spa day, skip it and find somewhere else, but if you are looking for a solid, decent, no-frills experience this is your place. read more

I went here in a pinch and they were open. Mani is $12 so I went for it. The service was ok (friendly but not talkative, which is fine by me), she gave a weak hand rub (I asked her to stop doing it--it was awkward) and did just ok when it came to cuticle cutting and cleaning around the nail. The polishing was done rather rapidly but then when air bubbles formed on two nails (because she had me using the fan directly on them), her solution was add more clear (?!) Um, yeah, thats not helpful. I left it as is but its not the kind of feeling you want to leave with. I will not be back. read more

Finally found a nail salon that actually does a great job! Tried numerous salons for gel manicures including downtown some of which were downright scary. A week later and my manicure looks like it was just done. Great care was taken during the manicure, it was neat, and all the nails were the same length (dont laugh, the last salon made my nails different lengths). It is a friendly place, offers walk in service, and is open on Sundays. My new salon! read more

I went here on a Sunday because it was convenient, and it was Mothers Day, so I figured I would treat myself. The usual place my girlfriend and I go wasnt open until noon time and we were on a tight schedule. I do this for a living so I expect the same level of service that I would give my clients. I called and informed them it would be 2 people, both for pedicures and one fill and one gel.... We waited 5 minutes (which wasnt bad at all). As soon as we sat down, I knew it was not going to be a good experience, my pedicure was a meager "ok" and the two women spoke in their language back and forth laughing throughout it, in the end, my cuticle's looked like hey were mauled by a meat grinder, my toes could've been done better by my 2,5 yr old and my feet were left rough. That wasn't the worst of it. When I sat to get my fill, one man started to file my nails, then the owners came in and took over, so the husband sat down to continue. He burned me at least 3 times, cut me once, and when I asked him how long he'd been doing nails, he said "15 years". I honestly would've thought he had just gotten out of school. He didnt file around the sides or closest to my cuticle at the base of my nail, he smelled as if he'd just smoked a pack of cigarettes, and my nails were uneven and ugly. I ended up crying, literally, and informed them that I would NEVER come back or recommend anyone to this shop. My girlfriend was equally unhappy, and was disgusted with how dirty it was. Thats how people get infections, and I will mnot be returning nor recommending this place to anyone. $53.00 later, and several days, and I am still pissed. read more

I've been coming here for quite awhile. The technician is always pleasant and chats with me during my manicure. It's not a super fancy or upscale business, but who cares as long as they do a great job on your nails? I've always had a really good experience at this shop. The cost is very reasonable, the polish color choices are more than adequate, and the employees are helpful and kind. I've had to run in there with no appointment and they never once acted as though I inconvenienced them. Great nail salon. read more

I wouldn't even give them a 1 star if it was up to me. Went in for a pedicure; rude from the moment they say me down, equipment was dirty, no communication to me, and the polish selection very limited and many clearly needed to be changed. In addition the paint job was horrific.a five year old would do better ! Not worth the 40$!!! Don't go here! I left and went to my usual salon and had them redo everything!! read more

Mack has been doing my nails for 16 years, he is the best, wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have been here about 20 times. I generally get a simple clear manicure and that has been fine. This last time I had a light color put on. I have had great luck with the woman there but this time I got a young man that did not speak any English. He cut my cuticle and I was bleeding quite a bit with no apology. I dried my nails for 15 minutes and within 15 min. of leaving - 2 chipped off and 2 were smudged. Not sure if it was my fault on that.It seemed that the polish was old and too thick and he put on at least 2 coats. Not sure I will go back... Their prices are less than any one else around with a 12 dollar manicure so guess you get what you pay for! read more

Please don't listen to the negative reviews. I've been going here for years and I've never had a problem. Prices are great and service is wonderful. Mack usually does my nails since I have acrylics and he is very good, we always have great conversations! They accept walk-ins but it's always better if you call ahead, especially if you're getting a lot done. I have tried to go to other places closer to my school in Western Mass but nothing can beat this place, and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Thanks Mack and staff! :) read more

Avoid this place is you value customer service at any level. They don't want to tell any customer that there is a long wait for fear of them leaving so they service multiple customers at the same time. Yup, right smack in the middle of your manicure they will go work on someone's pedicure for 10-15 mins. Unbelievable. It happened to me a once or twice and the third time I spoke up and said I'm not waiting, if your going to work on someone else I'm leaving. They rush and don't do a good job. The only reason I've ever gone back in the first place is in a pinch as they are open on sundays. read more

Ive been a few times and its pricey and my nails chipped right away!! They rush to get you done when new customers come in the door. So it may start out with lots of attention to detail but it will end up sloppy by the end. Poor customer service too. read more

I cannot even rate them. They do not even deserve a star. I had a terrible experience here today. My friend I went to get our nails done today, and sat down for our manicures at the same time. I expected mine to take little longer than hers because of the gel polish needed to be removed, but it was a good 30-40 between when she and I finished. The woman left the acetone on much longer than she should have and walked away to work on another client. The acetone was still on my fingers by the time my friend had her manicure finished. They were and still are completely dried out and wrinkled. This is very unprofessional and I am concerned for my skin due to this. I have gotten my previous gel manicure from them, and after this experience I will never be going back. Unless you are a regular there, they do not treat you well. read more

I have been here many time now - at least 6. A few times I have had a girl who speaks little English and gets right to work. The first time I thought she gave a great pedi - the other times just so so. Other times I've had gel manicures by both her and the young man. Can I just say I don't care how convenient and clean it is (and yes it is clean), I won't go back? I'm throwing money away. Generally a gel manicure lasts me a good 2.5 - 3 weeks from any other place but here. At Acton Nails I'm lucky to get maybe 1 - 1.5 weeks. I don't know if they just put it on too damn thick, if the polish they are using is old or what the problem is. I had one done about 1.5 weeks ago. Two days later one nail was already chipping at the cuticle and I could pull it right off. So I went back in.. Showed it to the young man who gave me the original - he "fixed" it, and here I am 4 days later with it gone again. No thanks. Shame as it's rarely crowded and clean. read more

I have been going to Acton Nails for about a year or so. At first I liked it but after todays visit I am never going to return. When you walk in you get a so so response and they tell you to pick a color. They hardly acknowledge you and don't really ever understand what you want. As previous reviewers explain the manicures and pedicures are really not that great. Today I also asked to get my eyebrows waxed. I payed the girl who did my nails the amount for all three items to be performed plus tip and then she gives me to another person to have the brows done. When the brows were completed she asked for payment I said I already paid for them plus the tip but she insisted the tip was for the other girl's service and that I tip her for the brows over and beyond. So needless to say I didn't want to put up a big stink cause there were other people there. So I tipped her too. I tipped way way too much for crappy service. They are so cheap and money hungry. That was the straw that broke the camels back. I will never ever walk thru those doors again. Plus the service isn't that great. read more
