Unfortunately, the person I had scheduled my appointment with was sick, so on the day of the appointment she called to inform me that one of her co-workers, Rosemarie, had agreed to see me. I had a little bit of a hard time sorting out where to park, because it was dark when I arrived - NOTE: there's parking all around the building. The building is an amazing historic site in Acton - can't miss it! I was a little concerned when I arrived - the bathroom and massage studio were chilly, but Rosemarie had a heater on that had already warmed up the room and the massage table was warmed with an infrared blanket, so I was nice and toasty. Rosemarie gave me a fabulous massage - combining what I would best describe as Swedish technique and Reiki ( I believe she's a Reiki master). The end result left me feeling more relaxed and far less stressed! She is an engaging and knowledgeable instructor with an obvious passion for sharing the basics and nuances of drumming. I was a little apprehensive at first as everyone else had done this before but her easygoing and encouraging manner helped me slip into the session like a pro. This is a great activity if you are looking to learn something new and tap into that primal realm of existence in your soul. I'd also tried a Soundbath with Holly a couple of weeks ago. It was my first one and I learned I much prefer the resonance of the singing bowls to the other instruments but overall this was a pleasantly relaxing experience for me.

Three people came out (of which the space is very small and dark), and they spoke amongst each other to see who would take who and for which service (head hydromassage and body massage - 60 minutes each). I went into my room for a body massage. Bed not warm, and just a cheap sheet on. The message was very VERY rough. messaged over towels (not warmed). I thought I would be getting a rub burn. THEN, later, the oil comes out, and she wore gloves, which were ... bunched-up on her hands, so I felt that. I then turned over, and she basically threw a towel over my eyes (not warm, just a towel!). VERY painful, even when I stated it was too hard, many times. Also, the movements were very VERY fast, and not whole - relaxing. There are a couple of other things that made me very uncomfortable, but I will leave it at that. I almost just stopped the appointment a few times. I prob should have. The hydromassage was .... okay. 60 minutes is WAY too long for that. NOT going back.
