Lance Grey, CEO of Action Video, sent me a thank you and asked that I do a review! I appreciate that he thanked me and reminded me to review so, here goes. Overall, I was happy with the service; however, I should have asked more questions as to my options and what those meant. My transfer was from VHS tape to a flash drive. They finished my order within days, and to my satisfaction. If you need any video services, I recommend you... Go! read more

Action Video Service - From VHS to flash drive - Videographers Near Me - Richardson, Texas

they were quick and did a great job. i feel like it as a lot of money, as they were short spurts of videos on my vhs tapes but....... they did excellent and were. accommodating. would use them again. read more

Dropped off about 10 VHS tapes here to get digitized and they did a phenomenal job. They were able to digitize home videos recorded as far back as 1988 and both the audio and the video is clear on the videos. While it was a bit pricey, you can't put a dollar amount on memories and time. I strongly recommend using them to digitize your videos if you have them. read more

I highly recommend Action Video for consolidation of all your old video formats onto newer technology. I provided Lance with 1 VHS and 23 8mm tapes that he consolidated onto a 1TB hard drive hard drive. He also recommended the Neumi digital media player so the hard drive could easily play on a TV using the USB port. At first I asked to convert all my media onto CD's but when he got ready to begin the project he called to confirm my requirements. After he told me the pros & cons of the digital hard drive vs. the CD's, I was convinced the digital drive had more future use than the CD's. That was a great decision. When I picked but the hard drive, Lance showed me how to use it with the Neumi unit he had on site. The quality of the work was excellent and the turnaround was much quicker than I anticipated. read more

Action Video Service is superb. I needed to have two 8mm films converted to dvds. Service was extremely fast (they had both done the next day) and they were really nice. For both full films it came out to $60 (including tax), which I don't think is bad at all. I also have to applaud them for their great hygiene measures during COVID. Will definitely be going back for my next film! read more

We worked with Action Video on transferring some vintage 8 mm films into USB flash drives. The Action Video team was responsive, professional and produced a high quality product for us. We were very pleased with their work and plan on working with them in the near future. We also appreciated that they do everything in house so you don't have to mail away anything... highly recommend them! read more

After losing my dad earlier this year my mom was dire to get our old home videos brought back to life for us to remember and enjoy. These guys did an excellent job and I would recommend and go back a thousand times over! Thank you to this team! read more

Lance, the owner, went above and beyond to copy my daughter's wedding videos in a short amount of time. He made suggestions to keep my costs down, was extremely quick and efficient with making the copies AND was kind enough to give me a call when they were ready much earlier than promised. A true delight to work with and I STRONGLY recommend their services. The showroom is fun to see also....especially if you like nostalgic memorabilia. read more

I had a 25 year old VHS tape of family footage that was on its last legs. After a quick Google search, I found Nigel & Lance of Action Video. Their service was fast and reasonably priced, and they were easy and pleasant to deal with. The result was three pristine DVDs ready to be shared with the family members who wanted them, and I don't have to worry about the VHS breaking down. I have many old printed photographs and other videos to transfer in the future, and look forward to working with them again. read more

I was there earlier this week. Dropped off a video of my Grampa's funeral back in 1991. I had no idea what else was on it. Little did I know it has video of my uncle, a cuz (only a few months old) and my Grampa. I was in tears. It's been over 27 years sense I have heard his voice. It was such a great feeling. Then it was the last half of his funeral. but after that it was my uncle randomly taping us. Very funny. I'm very glad I was able to fine such a GREAT company to convert my VHS to DVD. THEY DID A GREAT JOB!!! Ty!! You have giving me a voice I have not heard in over 27 years. Ty!! **** read more

Action Video is amazing!! I took them 20 years of VHS, and mini and regular cartridges 2 weeks before Christmas and they put them all on an external drive in time for my adult children AND their friends to see at Christmas. They truly cared about my tapes and were so patient in explaining everything to me! No way I wanted to trust shipping such important family memories across the country when we have Action Video in the DFW metroplex. I drove an hour to see them. Totally worth it!!!!!! read more

Nigel and crew were very helpful and fast getting my negatives digitized. I was on a time crunch since I needed to order a book with some of these photos. The quality of their work is very good. I just wished the negatives were in better shape...but then what can I say, they are 50 years old! Thank you Action Video for your service! read more

I found Action Video Service by searching Yahoo and was impressed that they make their duplications in house and do not ship them to another state like many places do. I did a lot of video work in college over 20 years ago and the only copies I have are VHS dubbed from 3/4" tapes. I co-hosted a video review show for my college's television station my sophomore year and wanted to get my copy duped to DVD. The show had some problematic clips that AVS was able to run through a computer to instantly fix, without charging extra. I am very impressed with the results. The VHS copy has lots of tracking problems which I anticipated to be duplicated to DVD, but somehow the tracking actually turned out very smooth, especially for video from 1990! I highly recommend AVS for converting VHS to DVD. I found their prices to be very reasonable and the staff helpful and friendly. I even enjoyed playing the complimentary Pac-Man and Galaga (got high score) on an old-school standup arcade game cabinet. Cheers! read more

This business really should be getting 5 stars all the way until checkout. Lance the owner had fast communication, Lee at the store was pleasant and even allowed me to see a bit of the video prior to deciding to transfer it. I dropped off a usb and the vhs was transferred same day. There was even a cute thank you with candy and usb back in original packaging, very professional and I was ready to highly recommend. The thing that threw me is the quote was $35, ended up being double that since the tape was over an hour. I was surprised but didn't think anything of it until I got home and noticed it was only one minute past the hour. I understand every business has to have guidelines but had they cut off the minute of random content, threw it in or called to ask if I wanted it would have been top notch since the price doubled from what I expected. The fact that they didn't puts them in the same category as any 'good' business. Be warned if you have a tape one hour and 15 seconds, your price will double as well. As long as you expect that, the work and service was great. I just personally didn't feel the value was there for the price and will probably look elsewhere if I need this done again. read more

Friendly, great service and results! Very diligent in determining exactly what I was looking to convert from VHS to DVD. They do the work at the location rather than sending off to a third party. Even the atmosphere is fun - check out the toys and arcade game. Highly recommend!! read more

Took a VHS that was previously converted from 16mm years ago and now had it converted to DVD. I am so pleased, these were wedding videos from 1950-1954. This one was a little blurry but that's because the original was. I also took a 1997 VHS home video that was previously converted from 8mm to VHS that turned out perfect! I couldn't be more pleased with the customer service and quick turn time. I am one of those that does not want to mail these precious keepsakes in somewhere not knowing if they will get lost and never see them again. I had mine completed in less than a week! I will be back with more, can't wait! How many people have old home movies stored in the attic? Take them down and bring them to Action Video so you can enjoy the memories! Highly recommend! read more

My mom had recently asked me to try and get an old malfunctioning VHS tape converted to DVD. It had some old family movies on it, taken on an old camera back in the 60's by my grandfather. They were able to get it to me in one day (was only one tape) and the transfer was great. I have a few more tapes I want to convert now and I will definitely go back to them, even though it requires a special trip for me (outside of NW Hwy?! Gasp!). They've earned my business, and they are worth the trip. Friendly service, good pricing IMO. Will update when I go back to get some tapes converted to digital files on a hard drive... read more

Needed two VHS tapes converted and one tape fixed before you could copy. Fast and friendly service. Reasonable prices.

I found family 8mm reels from the 50's and 60's. They put all six on a DVD. They said it would take two weeks but it only took a week. They spent time helping me put them in some sort of order since some didn't have a date on the box. They did an absolute fantastic job and my relatives were happy to receive a copy. I found a few more and you bet I will be back. read more

Action Video Service has done two jobs for me--transferring VFS tapes to DVD & creating a promotional video for my memoir Z.O.S. Both jobs were A+. Thanks for your help! read more

Lance and crew are magicians! They took a pair of plastic "records" that were made in 1944 of a shortwave broadcast and blended the better parts of both into one recording and laid the track down on a CD. These "records" are one of a kind and irreplaceable and they took great care in the way they were handled. I feel like they felt these personal items of mine were every bit as important to them as they are to me. I could not ask for anything to have been better, this job was fast, accurate and more than fairly priced. I am grateful to their whole crew and especially Lance for the top notch professional job they did and the friendliness they offered. Great people providing a great service! Thank you!!! read more

Everyone here is awesome! They did a fantastic job transferring our old VHS tapes to dvd. They were very honest about my options and didn't just try to push the most expensive one. They were very quick and transferred about 15 tapes to dvd within a 5 day time frame. I was so impressed and would absolutely use them again:) read more

Action Video Service is professional, friendly, honest, and priced competitively. I had 8 VHS tapes that I needed to convert to a imovie file format and they were able to do within 2 days. I called other companies in the area and they were the best priced. Not only that, but apparently two of my VHS tapes were television recordings and they didn't charge me for them. So nice! They know what they are doing and make the experience easy. Thank you Action Video! read more

These guys saved my day. I had a horrible experience with another video agency in the uptown Dallas area which I won't mention here but you can see my upcoming review. I was leaving town and needed to get this job of transferring my old VHS videos to DVDs fast. Not only were they fast but extremely nice and accommodating to my needs. I would highly recommend them. read more

It's rare that I'm delighted enough to bother writing a review. I have a mountain of my family's old 8mm and Super 8 film reels, and a few of them (like my parents' wedding video) are super precious. I wanted to have that one digitized professionally, and started shopping around. From their Yelp reviews and their website, Action Video seemed pretty reputable so I took a chance. They just blew away all my expectations. All the disclaimers said it would be 1-2 weeks for film conversion, but they did it in less than 24 hours!? They are super knowledgeable and professional, and made me feel comfortable that my priceless/precious media was in good hands. (They explained that they use cold LEDs to transfer directly from the film, no running it through a hot projector.) The cost was a little pricier than I expected, but after such great service, I feel it was well worth it. And also...they threw two Pixie Sticks in my checkout bag as an added bonus! read more

Lance, Nigel, and their team were professional and very accessible via email and phone. I arranged for 350 kodachrome slides and several super 8 films to be digitized. Action Video produced exactly what I requested. Their staff did not try to up sell me and did an excellent job scanning. The project was ready on time and the rates were very reasonable for 35 mm and super 8 film. read more

I'm starting with a pre-experience review. I have to give them a few stars for the courteous explanations on the phone. If you look at my other reviews, you'll see that I have had a horrific experience getting a DVD converted from PAL to NTSC. In discussing the situation (I had a DVD and a VHS tape) we determined that the VHS would likely be the best "master" to use for a conversion DVD. I will update AFTER I get the work done and get the bill. **Wish me luck!** read more

I relied on Action Video to convert several priceless home videos to DVD as a Christmas gift. Despite the fact that I procrastinated a bit and didn't bring everything in until a few weeks before Christmas, they got the job done very quickly! (Several other businesses I consulted practically laughed at me when I told them my timeline.) The DVDs turned out great, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I would absolutely use Action Video again should the need arise! read more

I'm back and this is not a norm for me. I am so excited and just want to let everyone know they can find the some joy & pleasure that I have found at Action Video. Lance, Nigel, Kim, & Lee deserve five stars plus. They turned my fifty year old Super8 films into a DVD with added music. Lee did a superb job selecting & adding the music that puts you right into the heart of the movie. To me, a good movie is one that makes you laugh and cry (with joy). That is exactly what they did with my film and had it ready for a birthday party with short notice. If you have old films, don't throw them away, you can have your own personal Action Video and features. You will be ready to pass out the popcorn, tissue, and have the best movie in town. read more

I had records my dad made and sent back to my mom when he was in the air force stationed at Lubbock, TX during WW II. I wanted to be able to listen to them but, without a record player, was unable. Someone recommended Action Video. I was hesitant to send them to a company I knew nothing about but after the initial communication with the company I was very comfortable doing so. They notified me when the records arrived. After converting them to CDs, they also notified me when they mailed them back to me. I can't begin to say how special it was to hear my dad's voice from when he was only 21 years old. I smiled the entire time I listened to them - even when my eyes were filled with tears. Action Video had given me something that was priceless. They did an excellent job 'cleaning up' any static from the records. Not only did they do a good job on the CDs, their customer service is excellent. If you have memories you want to hear, please know you'll be as happy as I am with their service read more

I could not be more pleased with the product and service I received from Nigel of Action Video Service. I had a videotape from 1999/2001 of trips my friends and I took and wanted to save it. I was encouraged to transfer it not only because I no longer have a VCR but also read online how video tapes typically only hold their magnetism for 15-20 years, which is what holds the video and audio. Obviously, we are into those 15-20 years and decided I really needed to transfer to a DVD (and eventually will transfer to multiple DVD copies and digital) before I lost the tape. Nigel was friendly, easygoing but competely professional. I liked that the videotape stays in the shop and is not shipped out so less chance of something happening in transit. Nigel answered my questions and had the DVD ready in a day or two. The cost was very reasonable and again completely pleased with the DVD's I received. It was well worth the investment to preserve the videos of another life. Assuming my experience is typical, if you have videos needing transfer you will do well to use Video Action Service. read more

Lance and the folks at Action Video have nailed it again! This time they had to extract multiple files from a DVD, edit them together seamlessly, and export onto a flash drive as an MP4. Not only were they able to execute this unusual request, but turned it around during their busiest time (the holidays) and I was able to make my Christmas weekend deadline. Nigel and the gang are first rate! read more
