I would give zero stars if I could. Completely disappointed in their pricing & misleading statements. I've been using them for 15 years at $5 / box. I call to verify they are open & they do inform me their price has changed to per pound (kudos, worth 1 star I guess) but didn't actually say it was $0.50 /lb. I stated I've been using them for years & usually bring about 24 boxes so $120, and ask if this will be a big change in price. Oh no they assured me, should be about the same. On 01/27/24 I take 28 boxes, should be $140 at old price. They charged me $510, a 350% INCREASE!!! I will NEVER go back, plenty of other places around that still charge a reasonable price, some still charge $5 /box. read more

All your documents get shredded right in front of you. I've used their drive up Saturday service (open till 2:00pm) several times and it's always been quick and efficient. They will empty all of your papers into a trashcan and give you your containers back. The trashcan is weighed and you pay and it's all shredded before you're done. 4 stuffed file boxes usually comes out around $35 so less expensive than a lot of other services. Hint: they only shred the paper / cardboard files so it goes faster if you have removed all metal binders and clips. Also you can leave your boxes but they charge to dispose of them. read more

The woman who runs it on Saturday is very rude and has an attitude. I already filled my trash can up with my shreds and guy left me and went to car behind me. She started directing traffic for the cars behind me to go in front of me, so instead of waiting I brought the trash can to the gate . She started yelling at me and giving me a dirty look. If we would waited then we would have been trapped. When I went to pay I just wanted to stick my credit card in the machine instead of her ripping the card out of my hand , she glared at me . I am so impressed with the DFW Shredding drive-through service on Saturdays. I was able to exit my vehicle and watch my personal paper documents being shredded via a video camera screen. I personally want to thank Jamal---he quickly unloaded my paper documents from my vehicle and escorted me to the shredding truck where I waited for my documents to be shredded. The entire process took less than 5 minutes. I had one large bag of documents and paid $15 (credit cards are accepted). Very rude customer service by Ana. They said arrival was 4:30 to 5 p.m. They did not arrive at that time. They contacted me after 7 p.m. wondering why I was not at the location. Downsizing and had 5 boxes of old, very old financial type stuff to shred and get rid of! Hard to believe that in the olden days (hey... I'm just talking about the 19seventies not the 18seventies!) your social security number was your bank account and used as an id number for medical stuff. Of course it was on those old printed payroll checks too. And the full account number on the the credit card receipts (do you even remember those) and statements? And why in the world was I keeping them? Who knows. But I'm glad this place was recommended to me. Drive up, they come and take the boxes and dump it all in their bin, take the bin to the shredder truck and up and away it goes. AND you can watch all your own stuff being shredded. Pretty cool. This is their idea of fun on Saturdays - and they charge $10 for box 1 and $5 each after that. It was well worth $30 not to have it hang around my garage (it was in the attic for years and years = well, you get the idea? I wanted it GONE). Oh, and they only accept cash if it is under $50. This is a great service and most people don't know about it. You can get your personal documents shredded, on site, while you wait, for a reasonable per pound rate! DFWshredding.com also works with the City of Plano to provide periodic free shredding events. But you don't need to wait, they are there every weekend! My one criticism is with the fussiness of the owner and his son(s?) who work with him. I think they are interested in safety and efficiency, but sometimes the result is being a little short with the customer. I contacted DFW Shredding on July 14, 2015 to get a Quote on the Destruction of 94 DLT Tapes and 275 System Hard drives. I was told that someone would contact me back on July 16, 2015. No one called me back on July 16th, so I called them back in the afternoon on July 16th. I was told they would send me a quote via e-mail however, by July 17, 2015 I had not received the quote so I called them back. I still had not received a quote from them by Monday, July 20, 2015. After 4 phone calls, all on my part, I gave up on them and went with another vendor. It was the day before my move to a new city that DFW SHREDDING saved me! I had 7 old computers and 2 old hard drives that I really needed to get rid of that I couldn't bare to lug around anymore! Use extreme caution with DFW Shredding. What they say and what they do/charge are very different. I requested the service of $75 every 8-weeks (no contracts) and was told they would drop off the bin "and" at that time shred anything we had to avoid filling the bin immediately. What I was NOT told is they would charge me $60 for this service. I was gone at the time, and my associate told them to take their bin away. Now, they have charged my C/C $90. Scheduled service at my home a week in advance. The day of service when they had not shown up by 12:00 I called and was given the lame excuse that they had the wrong phone number for me and they had already been in my area that day and would not come back. That I would have to reschedule another day. Why they didn't just come to my home I have no idea??? The girl that answers the phone was rude. I asked to speak to a manager. He was rude. Never got an apology for the problem. When I asked for the phone for his boss he gave me a phone number in Canada for shred-it and they said they did not own dfw shredding.
