Veronica is simply the best physical therapist! I think I had overall 3 appointments over 6 months, but so far she has been the most impactful healthcare provider, in terms of helping my body heal and giving me awareness on issues in my body. I've been to podiatrists, naturopaths, chiropractors, and many other physical therapists. Nobody has helped me as much as Veronica did. Long story: I do a lot of sports, on and off, including yoga, climbing running, parkour, soccer, basketball, etc... I recently hit my 30s and my body has been responding very differently to stress and injuries. I had the following 4 major issues since then (in an 8 month period): 1 - It first started with a lot of pain in my right big toe, mainly due to really tight climbing shoes. 2- Then with a crazy jump from rock to rock that ended in a bad landing, severely bruising my heel, and resulting in plantar fasciitis. 3- One month later, I landed on my other heel on a rocky shore when I was hanging on a piece of a rock that broke. That was plantar fasciitis 2. 4- Then followed by tearing a muscle connecting the hip to the knee somewhere while trying to really push myself with a heel hook at the climbing gym. For the first two issues, I went to a podiatrist. He really couldn't do anything after many visits. I then went to physical therapy (not action/reaction), and they actually managed to help me with the bunion, as I started to get control over my big toe. However, the pain in the big toe was still bothering me from time to time. Also, I didn't get much progress on the plantar fasciitis, and I was offered to buy products every now and then. Going to action/reaction physical therapy, the first issue was easy. I got a wider climbing shoes as recommended. My big toe doesn't bother me anymore. For plantar fasciitis, I got tips on how to treat the pain, to change the shoes that I'm using, and to take it really easy on anything that stresses the heels. Simple steps and changing the shoes went a long way. I didn't have to do much and after a few months of getting busy I realized that the issue resolved itself mainly due to the help from the shoes. Veronica also helped me discover other issues in my body that I didn't even manage to discover through Yoga. I knew I had inflexible hips, but I didn't have awareness of how my back was doing the extra work to compensate the limitation in it. I also like how she draws the diagrams/figures for the exercises that I need to make, gives me the official names for them so I can look them up if I want to, and describes the muscle movements, etc... If you're passionate about sports and you have injuries, I highly recommend you give Veronica a visit at Action Reaction Physical therapy. You'll have someone who can really speak the language of climbing, running, etc... because she has done a lot of it in practice and really "knows" what you're talking about. read more

I was referred to Action Reaction Physical Therapy by my doctor. I have been dealing with sciatica and low back pain for about 3 years. I decided I was going to try and get better without surgery if possible. Over those 3 years I saw doctors who sent me to other physical therapists, acupuncturists and a chiropractor. I was better but still had frequent pain and because my low back wasn't right I unconsciously compensated for the pain and wound up throwing the rest of my body off and started getting neck and upper back problems. I finally decided I was ready to look at surgery. I was referred to a neurosurgeon who told me to keep on the slow path I was on because surgery wasn't a sure fix for me. That is how I wound up at Action Reaction Physical Therapy. Other therapists were good but wanted me to do things above my ability and grew impatient with me when I couldn't do the exercises they prescribed or I couldn't do the number of reps prescribed. I would get a little bit better and then a little bit worse. I saw Aysha at Action Reaction Physical Therapy. She is punctual, very knowledgeable, creative, compassionate and fun to work with. She would give me exercises to do and if they bothered me or I couldn't do them, she would instantly modify the exercise or give me different one for the same muscle group. She always challenged me to do more but always made sure the exercise was right for me. She had me do the exercises in her office so she was certain that I could do them on my own. I started to get much better. I saw her regularly for about three months. I progressed more in that three months that I had in the previous three years! Finally, I went on a once-in-a-lifetime trip with my husband to Africa. I had to prepare myself with Aysha's help to be able to ride on a long airplane ride, walk, carry my luggage, and ride in open vehicles over very bumpy roads. I credit Aysha for getting me into good enough shape so that I could enjoy the trip. I cannot recommend Aysha and Action Reaction Physical Therapy more highly. I totally refute Brittany's comments about Ashika at the reception desk. She is the only person at the front desk so at times can be quite busy. Patients need to be understanding too. I found Ashika to be friendly, engaging and also very good at her job. read more

Life-changing. I've tried other physical therapy offices. The people were pleasant in those other places, but ineffective. They put me through my paces, with limited explanation, slapping me into exercises I could have found through the internet. I was leery about returning to physical therapy, and threw a dart at google maps looking for something I could go to on my lunch that was close to work. I have to say, that was the luckiest darn dart I've ever thrown. My experience here has been fantastic, and Aysha is absolutely marvelous. Not only do you receive one-on-one attention, but knowing I like explanations for what we are doing and what we are trying to achieve, Aysha explains exactly what we are trying to accomplish with each exercise, and then watches to make sure I am doing it the right way. Not only that, if I can't do something correctly, she explores why. Other PT I have been to just made a note in my chart that I could only do x amount of reps, or could only get so far in my bending/movements. Aysha, a few times, has troubleshooted the exercises to figure out what exactly is getting in the way of my success, and she's been able to pinpoint trouble areas with unerring accuracy. Not only that, but then she adjusts my routine to work out those kinks. I feel better after a few months in Aysha's care, and have accomplished more, then I ever did in 6-7 months of other 'fast food' PT. Additionally, the staff are fantastic. I've never had a problem with their billing, and Hannah at the front desk is just wonderful. I am moving better and rejoining life in ways I had almost given up on, but I am so grateful for that lucky choice in picking this place, and I just am so grateful for all of Aysha's encouragement and know-how. read more

This is my first time writing a review on Yelp. Today I "graduated" from my physical therapy treatment with Diane at Action Reaction PT, and wanted share my experience with anyone seeking a similar type of treatment. Long story short, Diane provides an exceptional therapy experience and I highly recommend her. To explain a little bit further, I saw Diane for my shoulder pain for about 5 months and my shoulder pain that bothered me for several years is finally gone. Diane taught me about body posture for daily routines and exercise, and stretches and exercises to build strength in my muscles. Diane was super patient with many questions and concerns I had, and so was Jessica, the receptionist at the front desk. All of the staff at ARPT are super patient, kind, flexible, and considerate. They really care about their patients' experience and well-being. Before seeing Diane, I tried chiropractic, massages, yoga, acupuncture -- pretty much anything I could try to resolve the issue. Diane helped me to gradually incorporate my usual workout routines along with her recommended exercises and stretches. She gave me homework to work on at home and the gym between our appointments and she checked my progress and provided feedback. She made sure that she addressed all of my questions and concerns at every visit. She is very well informed of and is really good at explaining how our muscles and body in general work. All in all, I have been so grateful and satisfied with the service and the treatment that I received at ARPT and highly recommend receiving physical therapy with Diane at ARPT. read more

Im a super active person but this last year ended up with a multitude of sports injures which Aysha, Darshana and Veronika did a great job of managing and helping me get back to activity. I learned so many things from them all that I will be able to take away with me forever. Aysha Morgan is a great physical therapist, very engaging and so very personable. She's done a great job coming up with creative and active exercises as well as teaching yoga with emphasis on form and application to daily life. She brought the yoga in as a way for me to stay active with my lower back issue. We got to cover all sorts of things including running mechanics and the importance of alignment. Darshana Naik I saw for a patella tendonitis issue and she was able to rehab me quickly and give me a way to continue to do exercises to help the problem even after I stopped seeing her. I always enjoyed getting to see Darshana and she specializes in women which was a nice change! Veronika Maass was super great about understanding the L and I process and being able to help me get over the numerous challenges my concussion presented. I never knew how complicated simple skills could be but Veronika did an awesome job getting things like posture and walking. She does a great job explaining how the body muscle chains relate to one another and incorporated suggestions on alternative rehab such as swimming for part of a therapy program. The Action Reaction staff all seem to be positive and caring people. Business practices are all well done, including initial phone contacts, insurance verification, scheduling, appointment reminders and being on time with appointments. All the staff I encountered were personable and positive. The pace and extent that I was expected recover from nerve damage in my pelvis and leg was unpredictable from the start. Aysha, the PT who worked, with me was very knowledgeable and committed to tailoring therapy efforts to address my issues as my recovery progressed. My progress and energy was inconsistent and she adjusted session plans to fit my status at that moment. Each session was unique and she remained directly engaged throughout the sessions. (In the past I have seen therapists elsewhere who just have you do your home exercises in session or who put their client on an exercise machine and disappear for a while.) She has a wonderful positive approach of encouraging successes, including detailed feedback, and giving reassurance where my success was limited. Therapy can be challenging and Aysha did a great job of making the challenges as enjoyable as they could be. I attribute much of my success in recovery to Aysha's high PT skills and commitment to addressing my specific needs. I did not work with other staff but they seemed to have high skills and a similar positive approach. Diane was my main physical therapist off and on for about 13 months. I was in a car accident, knocking my pelvis out of alignment only about 6 months after having a diskectomy on my L5-S1. What truly kept me going back, was how totally devoted they are to their patients and how hyper-knowledgeable this staff is. Diane helped me get a super refined home routine to continue keeping myself in alignment, and a strengthening exercise routine to avoid future problems. She was very thorough and even had my boyfriend come in to teach him certain stretching techniques for continued at-home care. Not to mention Ashika! She is their scheduling extraordinaire/resident ray of sunshine. She always makes reminder calls, which in my case, are extremely helpful. Just one of the many things that make her the best receptionist ever. I was recently discharged from care and I must say, I will miss seeing these incredible people regularly. Also, I come from North Seattle, and it is very easy to get to from I5. I just finished a therapeutic treatment after my spine surgery. Yes! I will sign with both hands how great job does Veronika Maass. But what make her very unique and very efficient therapist is a very careful and meticulous diagnosing and investigation. Than after she is able to applies proper exercises to get to the point. This is a process which she master very well. It is very important in my case where she was able to reverse set of exercises wrongly applied to my spine conditions where leads to the proper diagnosis of my spine conditions and finally surgery. I have been seeing Darshana Naik, PT since March and I can't believe how helpful she has been. Back in March, I had severe hip and neck soft tissue injuries and was taking high dosages of pain pills and anti-inflammatory meds, by my 3rd visit, I was completely off all meds, thanks to Darshana. She has such a warm and friendly personality and is so easy to talk to. Over the years, I have seen many different PTs and Darshana is by far the BEST! She is so knowledgeable and seems to know how to treat each ache and pain. I have completely healed from my injuries and she is currently helping me with other issues that should have been addressed years ago. The receptionist, Hannah at Action Reaction is so helpful, she will let you know exactly what your insurance will cover and what your co-pay is. Over the years, I have worked with a number of physical therapists to fix my ailing body parts. The best of these well-qualified practitioners has been Veronika Maass. Veronica is positively Holmesian in her powers of perception. She would begin her observations the moment she would meet me in the waiting room and would continue as we walked to her office, making backward glances to check my gait and posture. Once in her office, Veronika is meticulous, flexible, and motivating. Although my therapy with her ended several months ago, I have internalized her standards. Several times a day, I check my posture while sitting, standing, or walking and make the needed corrections. And every day, I continue to do the home routine Veronika designed for me and make a little more progress. Although I don't know all the physical therapists in the Seattle area, Action Reaction has to have the best therapists-or at least two of the best. Both Veronika and Darshana are very caring and committed to helping their patients. Their clinical knowledge is excellent and they both realize that the patient's psychycology is sometimes equally important to the physical issues. Both therapists have been open to providing extra and creative ideas to meet and solve patient's issues. Their treatments last up to an hour rather than the usual 30-40 minutes. Treatments are carried out in an individual room rather than in a large gym. All treatments are done by the PT rather than a PTA (assistant). As I came to the resolution of my issue, both Veronika and Darshana made sure that I had a plan to stay fit that would work for me. read more

I started coming to Action Reaction Physical Therapy after going to a different physical therapy group. Ami at Action Reaction was thorough, and analyzed the problems. She took the time to explain what was causing the tightness and pain and how we were going to work to correct them. She gave specific exercises to help strengthen the weakened muscles, and helped create greater mobility and flexibility. She also did targeted massage that helped to relieve some of the tightness. I did have to do the exercises she gave me to see improvement. You have to be willing to put in the time to follow the program in order to see the benefits! I gave five stars because from the receptionist to the therapists, it was a great experience. They are friendly, helpful and did a great job of helping me to completely resolve my issues. read more

I started going to Action Reaction and seeing Veronika Maass for a lower back injury. I had previously been attending a sports therapist, but Action Reaction provides much more comprehensive and informed therapy for not only sports, but injuries and recovery. I got excellent advice and a program for recovery before getting surgery on my lower back. Right out of surgery, I had a plan and exercises to do to start recovering quickly. I continued attending physical therapy with Veronika, which has restored and increased my strength, endurance, flexibility, posture, and overall lack of pain and well-being. I recently completed a few months of physical training for an ankle injury with Darshana Naik at Action Reaction and had a wonderful experience. I came to see Darshana by recommendation of my primary physician. Darshana is very knowledgeable and has a personal approach to the patient. I am a very active person and exercise almost every day. For a lot of women jumping or sneezing results in stress incontinence, this became my concern. I've learned this happens because of the "underactive" pelvic floor muscles, which regular exercise routine doesn't address and one needs to stabilize them. I can say that the PT treatment was beneficial and the exercises suggested (don't forget to do them :-) were effective. Darshana has a great personality and the office staff is very friendly. I recently received treatment at Action Reaction following surgery for a broken foot. I have worked with the owner Dzuka and one other therapist a few years ago for a sprained ankle and one other issue and received excellent treatment. This time was no different. What I like most about Dzuka is that he really listens to you, he is very approachable and patient, he challenges you and makes you work hard, but he also has a good sense of humor. With Dzuka's help I'm now able to go back to my usual exercise routine (running, soccer, biking, etc). I highly recommend Veronika Maass. She not only successfully treated my plantar fasciitis, but helped with other issues that contributed to my injury. I liked that she designed her exercises to benefit more than one area of the body. She also chose exercises that I can easily incorporate into my everyday life. Veronika Maass helped me immensely for recovery from post-hip surgery (improving my flexibility, balance, strength, and walking) and also to control what used to be chronic numbness in the foot. This was a one-year project (1 to 2 visits per week) well worth the time, allowing me to now complete 10-mile "moderate" hikes routinely. Veronika knows the muscular and nervous system at an expert level. She will figure out fairly quickly if the problem can be helped by physical therapy. She will try different approaches, explain the rationale, and make advancements in the therapy using feedback on what works and what does not work. I highly recommend her. read more
