    Starter bike

This bike shop has always done me solid. All the techs here are super personable, very knowledgeable, and above all very reasonable on pricing per the service thats provided. I just have a little starter bike that Ive rode the heck out of and both times Ive came by theyve had the best course of action within reason to the cost of the bike itself knowing its not a very expensive bike to begin with. Will always recommend!

The folks at Action Bikes are amazing. A friend recommended the shop to me. I had been meaning to stop by for months but didn't want to deal with the hassle of a salesman since I'm basically a newb when it comes to cycling. My last bike was my BMX my mom bought at walmart in like 1990 or something. Anyway, so zero idea what I'm looking for except that I had done extensive research online. I knew I wanted a gravel bike in case I ever wanted to dip my toes in light off road fun. I had read so many reviews of entry level gravel bikes, so I knew they were going to be on the expensive side (relative to my budget) but wouldn't break the bank. Some of the brands I read about were Trek, Cannondale, & Fuji. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon a few hours before they were set to close. Immediately when you walk in you're greeted by tons of bikes--everything from road racing stuff to mountain bikes, and a few gravel. I knew from my online search that Action Bikes was a Fuji retailer. Unfortunately, the Fuji I wanted wasn't available in my size. But they did have a Fuji Jari 1.3 or 1.5. It was on the upper end of what I was willing to spend. There was also a Cannondale Topstone 4. I had read great reviews about it so I was stoked to see it in stock. Howard (the owner) came over to me and we chatted a bit. I explained what I was looking for and he directed me to both the Fuji and the Cannondale. Three things: Howard can talk, he's a fountain of knowledge, and he never once tried to upsell me on their most expensive bike. After some small talk, Howard kindly fitted a test bike out so I could ride it around the parking lot. No pressure just let me be. I purchased the Cannondale shortly thereafter for a reasonable price given the market. Two things I don't like about the Cannondale: the light blue colorway & the microshift gear set. My cyclist friends said to look for Sram, Shimano, or the like. My understanding is COVID may have forced cannondale to go with this type of gearset out of necessity. I don't know. We'll see how it holds up. It's also a 1x10 which Howard said is what the pros are used to but I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing for a newb. But this has nothing to do with Action Bikes. They just resell what brands send them. I would have totally went for the Fuji if they had it in my size. Since it was so late in the day, Howard said he'd have the bike ready on Monday. I stopped by after work and the bike was ready to go after a few minor adjustments from Chris. Howard threw in some swag--two water bottles w/ racks, some allen wrenches because the topstone doesn't have a quick release and he knew I needed it to fit into my accord, and a spare inner tube. Chris helped me load the bike into my backseat and that's that. Painless-- perhaps even pleasurable?!--sales experience. Howard & the guys at the shop invited me to their weekly ride on Sunday. Super friendly guys. I'd recommend Action Bikes to anyone.

Bought my Fuji bike in 2020 and a VERY BUSY time for the shop and Howard walked me through different bike options. One thing I really appreciated was he said even if you go down in how much you spend on a bike please buy a helmet!! He cares about your safety and I have been back for accessories and a tune up for my husband's bike. The guys in the shop sometimes seem to be the mechanics mostly so be patient if you want to work with Howard. He is worth the wait and a good dude!

Great people and great service all the way around. Always made to feel at home. They know how to treat a customer right. Recommend them to some friends who have bought their bikes there and they have the same sentiment. Thanks Howard for all your professional help. God speed.

Just bought my first bike and Howard and the staff were amazing. They answered all questions and gave great tips for riding and training. Awesome team and bike selection available. I would definitely recommend and will continue to be a repeat customer

Helped get my son's bike back on the road. Did a safety check and cleaned up frayed brake cables.

Extremely Disappointing Experience -- Damaged a Well-Maintained Vintage Bike…read more I brought my 40-year-old vintage bike -- which had been meticulously maintained for decades and was in excellent condition -- to this shop because of a stuck nut on the rear wheel. Instead of addressing the issue or replacing just the axle (which I clearly requested), they insisted the entire wheel had to be replaced. Reluctantly, I agreed. After the replacement, I noticed that the freewheel was visibly oscillating, which was never an issue before. When I brought the bike back, their response was dismissive -- claiming the problem was simply due to the bike being "bad quality." That was completely false and insulting, considering the bike's proven condition and history. I even brought a replacement axle and asked them to reinstall the original wheel (which I had marked), but instead of fixing anything, they just said they'd give me the old wheel back -- without doing the work. To support the fact that this is a well-maintained, quality bike, I've uploaded photos of the original purchase receipt from 1986 and the owner's manual -- not many people keep those for 40 years. This bike has never had a scratch and ran flawlessly until this visit. At best, this was unprofessional and careless. At worst, it was dishonest. They ignored my request, pushed unnecessary work, introduced a new mechanical problem, and then refused to restore the bike to its original state. This shop wasted my time, money, and damaged a bike I cared deeply about. I strongly advise others to stay away, especially if you value your bike and expect respect and transparency.

We went to both locations but preferred this Selma location due to their wide selection of products. We picked up the Polaris Sportsman 450 H.O. EPS and Hammerhead MudHead 208R and was able to get free delivery to our home that evening literally less than two hours from the time of purchase. Our sales person, Chris Torres, was knowledgeable and explained the various charges such as freight, prep, doc, registration, etc. We did some negotiating such as getting the convenience fee for using a card waived. (That was a value of $400). Things to Note (and reason I removed a star): They don't inform you until it's time to pay that they charge a convenience fee for using a debit or credit card. We were also suppose to sign a paper after a full inspection at the dealership. It was already closing time and it was being loaded up in the trailer and unfortunately we weren't given the opportunity to inspect it prior to loading. We ended up signing the form after delivery in the dark at 8pm with no full inspection due to visibility. They also didn't have a full tank of gas in the Hammerhead MudHead.
