I've been having trouble trying to get a hold of somebody that will help me. I bought a maintenance plan last year and I'm trying to update it. I have reached out by phone, text and chat. I even did a store visit and no one has helped me update. I've been promised a callback back and it has been over a week bordering on two since I started reaching out to them. I have purchased a bike from Family Powersports Alamo, Woods Cycle country and now Kent Powersports. However, my sales experience at Kent has been pretty disappointing. I will give them credit in that they gave me a pretty fair value for my trade and most of the people there are super nice. Even though I went through with the sale, I was super disappointed that my sales person was not willing to work with me on their fees. I actually did walk out at one point , but decided to come back because I was already so far in the process and wanted the bike. Super regretting that decision now. But the big dissatisfaction happened today. My puppy unfortunately got ahold of my temporary registration paper and ripped it to shreds. So I texted my sales person and asked if he could provide me with a copy. He said sure he would send it. Hours go by, I text again to see if there is any status and I get silence. So then I decide to call about an hour before they close and ask to speak to the sales manager. However, I get another sales rep who asks to take a message for him. I tell him my story , he says he will get with finance and have it sent over. Few minutes later, I get a text from my salesman asking for my email to send it to. He sent it, but it was nothing but a blank page. So I text back to inform him of this, but at this point they are about to close so I don't hear anything of course. So now I am stuck not being able to ride my new motorcycle until I guess I can visit the tax office because they failed to provide me with a replacement copy of my registration. Super bummed and I can't in good conscience recommend this dealership read more

We were in the market for an ATV and Yelp and Google led us to Kent Powersports in Selma and New Braunfels. We went to both locations but preferred this Selma location due to their wide selection of products. We picked up the Polaris Sportsman 450 H.O. EPS and Hammerhead MudHead 208R and was able to get free delivery to our home that evening literally less than two hours from the time of purchase. Our sales person, Chris Torres, was knowledgeable and explained the various charges such as freight, prep, doc, registration, etc. We did some negotiating such as getting the convenience fee for using a card waived. (That was a value of $400). Things to Note (and reason I removed a star): They don't inform you until it's time to pay that they charge a convenience fee for using a debit or credit card. We were also suppose to sign a paper after a full inspection at the dealership. It was already closing time and it was being loaded up in the trailer and unfortunately we weren't given the opportunity to inspect it prior to loading. We ended up signing the form after delivery in the dark at 8pm with no full inspection due to visibility. They also didn't have a full tank of gas in the Hammerhead MudHead. read more

So I take my 2012 Can-Am RT Limited in for an oil change late Saturday evening, as I waited for my wife to pick me up I made the mistake of walking into the showroom, their was a 2023 F3 Limited some how calling my name. I called the following Tuesday, spoke to Ruben we agreed to a sale price and trade-in value and the rest is history, I now own that 2023 Bad-boy F3 Limited. I have to say Ruben was great to work with, the entire purchase experience was great. I'm looking forward in continuing to do business with Kent POWERSPORTS read more

They do not respond when you message for used bikes on Cycle Trader nor do they remove those ads promptly when a bike sells. I called and emailed. Nothing. I then went to the store. The guy didn't even bother to get out of his desk or greet me. I had to take it upon myself to ask about a used bike. He then declares like I'm bothering him....mind you the store was devoid of customers..."It sold." Please go to their facility in Kyle. They will treat you right. The one is Selma has been awful each time I have gone there. read more

UPDATE from my 7/16/2024 review: Was contacted by the Selma location. Ron wanted to get the full details and then offered to rectify the problem. Gave me an acceptable explanation and provided correct information. Asked to me swap the battery in question with another new one that was checked for full charge and tested in front of me. He was sincere and apologetic. This is what great customer service is all about. Mistakes happen. He took ownership and fixed the problem. Changing to 5 stars. Thank you Ron read more

AMAZINGLY HELPFUL! I've been in a few times since I got in watercraft rental business and have been super happy with the level of respect and assistance I have received. Brandon in service and Gerardo in parts have shared a wealth of knowledge and made sure my skis are in tip top shape. read more

The service department blew it for me here, I won't be spending any more money here. I called in to the Buda location and tried to set up a service for my jet skis for the "recommended" 10 hour service. The Buda location flat out told me no, that I can't get SeaDoo Ski's serviced there because they only do Yamaha. So I called down to Selma and they told me that they do service them so I brought them down. I told the younger guy there that I wanted to get my 10 hour service and also explained that one of the two Spark's that I bought was having a starting and steering issue. One ski is nice and easy to turn and the other you have to really work. We went out and I showed him what i was talking about and he assured me that they would get it looked at. I dropped it on Saturday, he told me that they are busy till Wednesday, which is fine because I wasn't going to use them that weekend anyway. He calls me Wednesday and lets me know that my ski's are done and ready to go. Life happened and I wasn't able to pick them up that Saturday, not realizing that they weren't open Sunday. I come the following Saturday, I pay for my Ski's and ask if the steering issue has been resolved and I get a blank stare. The "I don't know anything about that". We go back out to my ski's and I show him again. Then he gets a technician to come out and look at the ski's and the tech says "That's just how they are". Okay, now I'm irritated. I brought you an issue, you completely ignored it and are now trying to pass it off as normal operation. Nothing was checked, what so ever. That's not good enough for me, I leave them. I tell the guy he needs to ACTUALLY look at the issue and not blatantly disregard it. He tells me, "I'll get them to bring it in today and get this addressed for you". They are closed Sunday and Monday and I call in Tuesday and speak with the manager, or so I requested. I ask what the status is on my jet ski's at 11:40 A.M. and he says, "it doesn't look like they've touched them yet, I'll find out what's going on and we'll call you back." Not thirty minutes later, I get a phone call from the other guy telling me "That's just how they are." I call BS on that. You didn't look at my ski's, you blew me off again. I call back today and they don't have an open ticket on my jet skis, because no one ever looked at them. I have to tell them that I want something in writing saying that the steering operation is normal. I will not come back here or the location in Buda after this. This is not how customers should be treated. If you are going to take the time to go over specific requests, make notes, do what is being asked of you. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Kent Powersports has too many customers and losing one just isn't that important. I won't be back. I can find my next service appointment and my next purchase somewhere that treats me better. read more

My bestfriend bought a used Ninja from KPS years ago, and I bought it from her shortly after (best friend EVER). Today I decided to bring the bike back to KPS for a new set of tires. I chose them because their customer service was pretty outstanding when I called to inquire tires. Andrew spent a long time helping me over the phone, explaining the problem (my bike uses tires that are not easy to find anymore) and then further explaining the differences between the available tires. So Andrew was eventually able to locate the right and most affordable* tires. AND, told me that if people buy tires through KPS, they would put them on free of charge! Thanks, and hell yes! I can't express enough how much I appreciated the honestly at this service shop. I was not treated as the cliche female customer, who wouldn't know the difference if given more expensive parts than necessary. Anyway, they also have a comfortable and large waiting area... and plenty of Merch to walk around and oogle over. read more

I had a terrible experience here today. I've been coming here for a few years now. "G" who works here is excellent. I was in a few days ago and asked the cost for mount/balance of a tire, and was quoted $50. Brought the wheel and tire in and was told it would be at least an hour so I got lunch and came back. Tire was mounted but Ronnie the service manager said it couldn't be balanced b/c the machine couldn't handle the axle size. So I asked what I owed given that I'd have to take the wheel elsewhere to get the job completed...still $50 per Ronnie. I complained and got nowhere so I complained up front when I went to pay. Ronnie comes up front and says I owe nothing but he never wants me to come back. Wow! What a customer-oriented individual, right? I spoke to James the manager to make sure he was aware of Ronnie's statement. He took down my number, but never called me back to let me know what the businesses official position was. If I owned this business and had employees like this there'd be some serious remedial training happening or more likely a bit of a layoff. Unbelievably bad. read more

Poor experience from beginning to end. I will not be returning to any Kent location for product or "service" based on my purchase experience and now the service experience . If you use their service department make sure you take plenty of notes and continually follow up as their tracking processes are lacking. I dropped my 2 brand new jet skis off in June due to a recall. My family had used our skis once. I requested that they complete the recall, repair body damage (due to one of the kids coming to close to another on their ski the first time out) , I also asked they check the trailer ball mount as it was difficult to remove from the hitch- and to repair a bunk on the trailer that was not bolted down all the way when I first received my brand new skis. I was told that the ball mount might just be a little hard " for me" and I might not be "doing it right" until the service rep had the same issue and had to pry it off the ball. Add condescending to the list of services. Needless to say.... There were some work to do.... The Kent rep told me not to expect the skis back befor July 4th. I just picked my skis up this weekend. Kent has technically had them over 6 months. I would call and only one of the service representatives seemed to know what was going on with them. The same rep that handled the intake. After multiple calls and delays the service ticket escalated to their boss, Ron. He facilitated the units repair to their completion. He did a PM free of charge due to the delay. I picked them up Saturday.... I paid my invoice never to see Ron again- my nice new $500 Yamaha covers (which I purchased there) had oil and debris all over them. There were hand and foot prints on the skis from grease/oil. The skis were filthy-and my light cord needs to be replaced. Irony, they asked my to follow them on Instagram and they send out these requests for reviews the same day I picked up my skis! WOW! There is so much more to this story, but all I can say is "stay away". Probably the worst service I have ever received. (It wouldn't let me post with 0 stars). So the star goes to Shamus who helped me with my skis as I left..... the other service team members ( including Ron) never came out of the building. Not sure is their owner (@JeffKent) is involved in the business any longer and it may be doing well on the books, but the reputation is going to be impacted if this type of service is deemed acceptable. #kentpowersports #poorservice #kentpowersportsselma read more

I bought a brand new Can-Am 4-wheeler from these guys. Purchase experience was fine.......its the service that has cost me as much as I paid for the machine!!!!! Total ripoff on service and machine left me stranded with exactly 9 engine run minutes after $1,700 service. Service dept says these ATV manufacturers make them cheap so you'll buy new ones. My jaw hit the floor and my heart sank. In 10 years since new the machine only has 2200 miles. The only shop to ever service the machine was Kent, and I took it in every year. Discovered in late 2017 that coolant had never been changed during all the yearly visits under expensive service agreement. Now they can't get the rear axles off to replace CV boots. So they offered to sell me a whole new rear end for $3,000. I only need rubber CV boots!! Anyway, I'm real frustrated with their attitude and won't go back ever. read more

Riding a Motorcycle is a dangerous thing so it is fair to say your life depends on the condition of your Motorcycle as well!!!!! I have been going to this dealership for the past 5 years. Today I am disappointed, dissatisfied, and also scared!! I recently purchased a Motorcycle and the only thing the bike needed was tires. Got it done at Kent PS !!!Brought the bike back to my garage sat there for a few days. Finally got a chance to go riding and to my surprise. The balancing weights are literally sitting right next to the front tire. As I looked close, I realized, they didn't even try to clean the wheels before placing the weights. Not even the spot where they placed them. I explained that to Matt. He said no problem bring it back. When I got there I explained to Davin the situation. With instructions to please check and clean my rims both front and rear!!! And re balance both wheels and tires!! I have hard saddlebags so you can't see the rear wheel!! He said it got done that he took care of it, and I don't believe for a second they checked my rear wheels because when I got home I took the bags off and my logic tells me if they didn't clean it is cuz they didn't touch it!!! ! 750.00 dollars and my life in their hands!!! I took my bike to Kent to repair damage from a sideswipe collision. It took them a month to look at it and when the repair order did come back it had the wrong VIN, mileage and color. Somehow they got it confused with a whole other bike. On the parts list, they listed parts that were not damaged in the accident. In the end, the the insurance company decided to condemn the bike because their estimate was so high (again those unnecessary parts). They made money, I lost my bike. My fault though...I should have have taken it to a shop instead of a bunch of incompetent parts monkeys. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. These folks are unprofessional. I was bait and switched by Zerik via text and when I walked the floor not one single employee asked if I needed help. They all sat at their desks. It was the middle of the week and there was only one other customer. I came back another day to try again and hunted a salesman down by the name of Chris. Sat at his desk to work out a quote and the entire time he was taking calls, paging service, working on the computer, and barking orders to staff. When I finally got a quote on paper it was the wrong item. He obviously was not paying attention. I just walked out and went up the road to another dealer. My insurance was not done properly and had I wrecked the bike in the 2 weeks I was under the assumption of having insurance (paying over the phone to one of your office ladies.) The passenger seat to my 9000$ motorcycle was missing, so here I am buying stuff on eBay and returning it because it doesn't fit. Putting unnecessary work into again a 9000$ motorcycle that I could have bought on trader online for 1000 $ less. If you like buying a bike for more than it is worth, Kent Powersports is the place for you. We have given them chance after chance to have our business for the past three new motocross bikes we have ended up purchasing in the last last two and a half years. As we are gearing up to buy another motocross bike the salesman, Chris, has once again been less than thrilled to try and make a deal happen. We dealt with him originally three years ago when we bought a brand new Raptor ATV, but looking back, we paid retail plus ttl for that thing! (Shame on us) He is the only sales person we have ever worked with and I'm really not sure why we keep giving him chances to have our business. Even his text messages are careless and pathetic. I recently bought a used Suzuki M109r and had a tolerable experience. It is the same rif-raf you get any time you try to buy a motocycle but it's still a hassle I hate dealing with. They had a nice used bike with low miles that I did really like. I had a certain price I wanted to stick with and I told them that right off the bat but they kept trying to haggle for more money. Eventually, I got what I wanted, so I thought, and went through the purchase ritual... loan terms, financing options, GAP, extended warranty. I got a great finance rate and my loan terms were shorter than I was expecting so that was nice. I was going to stay away from the extended warranty because they are pretty generic but the wife said I had to or no bike so of course I bit. This is where the 'so I thought' part comes in from above... I was told I could do a 5 year extended warranty on the bike but when I went to sign, they said it was only 4 years. I still did the purchase because I really like the bike but it is aggravating when they can't get their stuff straight. I also tried to haggle for a free helmet or some gloves but they were not having it. In the past when I bought a bike, the dealership would usually throw a little something in but not here. I had everything already, from owning previous bikes, but it would still have been a nice gesture. The last thing, and probably the biggest, is once I got it home and did some research on the bike I found some interesting information. This particular bike is notorious for the front motor mounts being weak and wearing quickly. Although it was only a 4 year old bike with low miles, it was apparent the motor mounts were already worn. I took it to them the very next morning to see about having them replaced and they were emphatic that there was nothing wrong. I even showed them what I was talking about and was told that was normal. One of the mechanics actually rides the same type of bike so I looked at his and saw they, too, were worn but not replaced. It isn't a hard fix and doesn't take much time so I just left and will do it myself but I hate being treated like I don't know anything and they have all the answers. I've been doing maintenance in the military for 15 years so I know a little something about preventative maintenance. I had MUCH better customer service at dealerships when I was stationed in San Diego but the San Antonio dealerships do not have the same dedication or appreciation. I expected it, since the riding season is pretty long here, but I guess my expectations were too high. I see the Harley dealerships are always doing something in the parking lots but I just can't see myself riding one. Maybe if they make a performance machine close to what the M109r can do I may reconsider. read more
