Mitch and ACTexas were great. They came recommended from a friend and were one of 3 companies called in to bid on the work. Our old system was installed in 2000 and the blower motor had gone out. Originally requested bids for just the furnace replacement as well as a full system replacement including a split-level zoning install for upstairs/downstairs. Mitch was great to work with. He took a look at the existing system to understand what was in place and came up with a series of recommendations along with separate costing for each option. Pricing was very reasonable and the combination of that and the comfort I felt working with him made it an easy choice. The installation went smoothly - Mario and his team arrived promptly in the morning and went about the removal of the old system and ran the wiring required for the thermostats needed with the zoning change. Mitch showed up later in the day to oversee the progress and to deliver the new equipment for installation. He returned later on with the zoning equipment and handled its installation and the final testing and verification that everything was working smoothly. I have been very pleased regarding the repair service received from ACT air conditioning. After dealing with American Home Shield and waiting 4 1/2 days for their HVAC company to appear Friday afternoon at 4:40, only for a diagnosis that the broken part was no longer made and that AHS would only cover a small portion of that cost. (Up to approx $4200 for my part now.) I declined the repairs ... I called ACT. They responded quickly and set up an appointment the next morning (Saturday). Same diagnosis but when I asked the cost of replacing the whole system, I was quoted a price only slightly higher than the cost of the repairs. Because of my health issues, they made special arrangements to install the system Saturday evening. (Finally, a good, cool night's sleep!) Over the years I have used a few HVAC companies. My conclusion this business/industry is full of con artists who will sell you more than you need and always blame the previous company. I am glad today I have renewed faith with HVAC companies. Act Air Conditioning guys don't try to sell me more than I needed and if they get something wrong they make it right. I have also noticed a lot of improvement over the last year in their scheduling and consistency. Their prices are good, they are punctual, and do honest business. In general I think most of my people don't take good care of their equipment and wait until there are issues to service their HVAC. This equipment is like a car and needs regular maintenance. What happens if you don't change the oil in your car or replace your brakes? For me I sign up for a service contract, put the dates on my calendar, schedule regular maintenance and save myself a lot of money. read more

We met with several A/C companies to replace one of our A/C systems - all with excellent BBB ratings. ACT provided a competitive offer and very reasonable price quote to replace our nearly 20 year old furnance at a later date as compared to another company. They didn't push us to replace the furnace as we requested them to quote that after they had provided the initial quote. (A third company insisted that we had to replace the furnance.) We were confident in ACT's ability to upgrade our system and bring it up to code as part of our system was nearly 20 years old. The owner clearly explained what work they would do and answered all of our questions. They were able to come out the next morning (Saturday) and install our system. My AC unit went out after a storm and after getting quotes from other companies one of my friends recommended ACT to look into the problem. Ac Texas was the best Ac repair experience I have ever had. Juan came out took his time and checked out ever aspect of our system. When the problem was found instead of just saying you need a whole new system, he told me just the air handler needed to be replaced at this time. I still love using ACT for my heat pump which is still running strong which I credit to getting 2 times a year maintenance ac and heat checkups.
