I did a lot of research on my quest to helping my father in law ease back into his independence. After surgeries, medical bills, and much needed family discussions, we all decided to pitch in and purchase a stairlift for him. The top brands we were most interested in were Acorn and Stannah. I had a salesperson from each company come to my home and give me a quote, though only one person really seemed to care about my situation. My husband was already skeptical about the whole process, but the rep from Acme Home Elevator came prepared w/ all the necessary information we needed to hear. We gave our deposit the same day as our meeting & was allowed 3 days to think it over w/o fear of loosing our deposit. The reasons we went with Acme Home Elevator instead of the other company are plain and simple: 1. They are local to my area 2. The competitive price paired with a high quality chair. (Lifetime warranty on the motor? Yes please!) and my favorite one 3. The culture of the company. Everyone I spoke to was beyond helpful. From the friendly woman on the phone, to the rep who came out, I am at ease knowing I am in good hands. I contacted this company after finding them online during an internet search to find a stair lift for my home. My mother had seriously injured herself in a fall at home and needed a lift in order that she could return home from the hospital. I was immediately contacted by a woman in the office who had a sales rep send me some information. He offered me a couple of low cost solutions involving used stair lifts and I invited him to come see my set-up. I was able to meet the rep the following day. Ultimately, I chose the used option because I simply could not afford a new lift and because they gave me the impression that the used lift they had in stock was in good condition and that they could perform an excellent installation on it. I am glad to say that they delivered FULLY and COMPLETELY on their promise to me. They arrived on time and installed that stair lift with complete precision and in a professional manner. My stair lift works beautifully and, as a result, my mom is able to return home to her own bedroom while she recovers from her recent fall. Run! Don't walk! We recently purchased a home elevator from ACME Home Elevator, a division of Stannah in Franklin, MA. This was the most horrifying experience of our lives! From the very beginning the Salesperson was "too busy to come out to measure the job." This resulted in a faulty order, which ACME flatly refused to fix unless we paid an additional $5,000.00. They repeatedly lied and refused to take any responsibility, treating us with contempt throughout the project. The only reason we stayed with them is because we had already put up a non-refundable deposit of several thousand dollars. From the Field Supervisor, to the N. California Branch Manager to the main Boss in Massachusetts, we were ignored or treated rudely. As an example, all of the above either never returned our calls or took several weeks to get back to us, dragging the entire job out by months. We are successful business people and can assure that in all of the decades we have operated & managed our own businesses we have never encountered a more unprofessional staff as that of ACME Home Elevator. read more

We're just now completing a project that has run for 10 years. Without looking, my guess is that we've been dealing with Acme for 8 of the 10. All along the way, they've been great. Scott Lebrick, the sales guy was straight-forward and straight up from the beginning. Wayne Parker was anchor-man and complete integrity all the way through. The guys who did the installation ran into problems - a car accident with a company vehicle was in there. My elderly Mom has a stairlift. It works great but is problematic in that it blocked the stairway such that Sears couldn't deliver a new refrigerator. I contacted ACME and it was easy to schedule with them to come out and temporarily remove the chair. Brandi was responsive to my emails and scheduled the job to facilitate the delivery and provided a 1 hour arrival window. ACME arrived right on time at the beginning of the hour, and was in and out in 30 minutes. My Mom is very happy and ACME made it easy for both my Mom and I. My Mom just needed to open the door and I didn't need to attend, travel there. read more

Horrible company! DO NOT use ACME elevator. They are not helpful at all. If you happen to purchase a home with a stairlift already installed, they will not help you or even sell you a battery when yours runs out. They are rude on the phone and completely not helpful to the senior citizen population. They will however sell you an entire new stair lift for thousands of dollars so you can then get the battery you need. read more
