The menu has so many delicious options, which makes it hard to choose because everything looks incredible. Whether you're craving something sweet, hearty, or classic comfort breakfast, they truly have it all. The portions are generous, everything tasted fresh and homemade, and you can tell they put care into every dish. The pancakes were fluffy with the perfect golden crisp, the biscuits were buttery and soft, and the breakfast meats were cooked just right. Pair it with a hot cup of coffee and it's the kind of breakfast spot you'll keep coming back to. The cozy setting and friendly staff add so much to the overall atmosphere, making the whole experience feel welcoming from the moment you walk in. If you love cozy breakfast places with comforting food, great variety, and an inviting atmosphere, Bread of Heaven definitely lives up to its name. It's super tasty all around.

By this time the other couple received their food and it was partly wrong with forgotten sides. So we still wait & waited & waited till a new group of customers was seated with our waitress. By this time we both have waited long enough that i spoke to her as the new group was seating and told her (we're leaving and have waited long enough) we got up and left, Thanks for ruining our evening. We understand at times it takes longer, but they wasn't all that busy.

I sat upstairs as there is only a bar downstairs and it was full. It was a Thursday so they had $.50 wings. I had the dark meat fried chicken with collard greens, a fresh side salad, and mac & cheese that was honestly unforgettable. The chicken was fried to perfection -- crispy, crunchy skin that stayed put and juicy meat inside. The collards were seasoned just right, the salad was super fresh, and yes, the ranch passed the Midwest test. The mac & cheese was the real standout -- that perfect mix of creamy and baked that makes you want to order a second serving. On top of the food, the service was impeccable -- attentive without being pushy, and they never let an empty plate linger on the table. The whole experience felt elevated and stylish while still keeping the food soulful and comforting. If you love soul food (or even if you're just curious), you have to try this spot.

Now, imagine driving there around 2 in the afternoon (regardless of these high gas prices, today) with hopes that they are still open and serving the public only to discover the doors shut and locked as if it was after-hours! THAT was my first (and last) experience here at this particular, so-called soul food establishment. What a waste! C'mon, some of my people have GOT to start doing better ....otherwise, just go bankrupt and close it down, already, and let someone who truly IS business-minded come upon the scene next time around. The last thing ANY community needs is an eatery that's only open when its owner feels like it.

Greens were canned, and tasted a little bitter. Mac-n-cheese was homemade and very good. Corn bread was the sweet kind, which is not my favorite, but if you like your cornbread sweet (like a cake), then you might like it. I was there during lunch today, and only 1 person came in to place a "to go" order. Man that took my order was friendly and helpful. I asked about several of the sides, to see if they were homemade, and most weren't.

Staff is great, ambience is charming. It's a cool spot with good people. The food was pretty hit or miss. The loaded tots seemed interesting, but really...the just end up a little greasy and kind of unnecessary. Overall flavor is mudled and you don't really get anything by throwing duck on tots. I was hoping it would be one of those dishes that just magically work and are fantastic...but eh, kind of a let down. We also shared a bunch of other dishes. The pimento cheese sandwich was tasty but really hard to eat (the cheese pours out of it). We had their pasta, the duck sandwich (again. It was ok. Not great) the grain bowls seemed enjoyable, etc. We also got some desserts to share. The bourbon bread pudding again, was a pretty big let down. There was generally nothing bourbon about it. The chocolate tart was ok. The food wasn't bad, it just felt like some key items that they seemed to use to elevate their menu as a whole were just misses. But there are absolutely some solid dishes on the menu. The price is also a little high for what you get.

My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, it was huge! For a side she had the sweet potato tots. She let me steal a bite of both and yum! I opted for the Hot Honey Chicken with Pimento Benedict and wow! I was nervous the pimento cheese would be overpowering, but it wasn't at all! It was a nice, creamy complement to the spicy crispy chicken. The hollandaise cut through some of the richness for a pleasant mellower. Prices are reasonable and our waitress was great! The restaurant is larger than it looks but it does get quite crowded. Can't wait to come back here!

This is a solid restaurant with much to offer in the brunch/breakfast area - an area that has become popular and chic, and it almost always means much will be expensive, usual very expensive considering the less than costly menu ingredients that drive food choices here, and other such brunch spots. Brunch is seen as more than just a meal for some folks who are all into what is trendy, and restaurant are aware of this and prices are raised due to the "experience" element! I have tried several items here including their version of Huevos Rancheros (not a fan of how they make it, pulled pork is a party foul), the Eggs Benedict (decent but over priced for sure, $17 with bacon added), and several Omelette choices, can reach $15. This is obviously a popular spot in downtown Winston, but I find it generally overpriced, loud, and the service is inconsistent. I like a good adventure, but somethings simply are not worth the cost! Note that the prices for individual items are written, very lightly with no $ sign to the right of the item. This is done intentionally to make the customer pay less attention to what they spending. Many restaurants are using some form of this approach!
