I have been using ACI Micro since 1995. They custom make and repair all of my CAD workstations that I use on a daily basis. If I can't fix it or if it's time to upgrade to the best performance workstation, I go to Paul, Julie and Russ every time with absolutely no regrets. They understand what emergencies are about for my business. I can't remember even one time over the last 19 years that I've had to wait more than 1 day for a repair. When it's time to build another super CAD computer, Paul searches for the latest hardware and sorts through best and not so best with me. His research and resources are invaluable to me as I don't have the time to keep up on current hardware nor compatibility issues. When I first visited ACI in 1995, I was shopping for a 21" monitor. They were in a little "hole-in-the-wall" shop near Northgate. They were very busy with people coming and going, supplies stacked above shoulders in the shop and behind the counter so I stood back and watched. I noticed the people were NOT buying just whole computers, they were bringing in custom boards and parts from their own projects as well as buying full systems. They were UW students and Professionals alike. I had just discovered where the REAL NERDS went for their supplies !!! And the owner Paul was able to help them all. This place is not just computer repair and service. They sell computers too. It's hard to find a place to buy computers where you can actually talk to an experienced technician beforehand. Unlike the "technicians" at BestBuy, these guys have been in business a long time and know the business inside and out. I have used them for business computers since about 2000 and will probably use them for my next personal computer purchase as well. They also do computer repair and will not charge an arm & leg for it. They will be up front with you on whether a repair is worth it or not. Prices are very reasonable all around. read more

I wish I had read the comments on Yelp before I had my laptop fixed there. Like one of members here said, there's no flat rate for diagnostic check, so I was charged A LOT from just having them to diagnose problems. Plus, their customer service is rude, I highly don't recommend this shop read more

I got this brand new Lenovo Thinkpad T400 in 12/09. It is loaded with W7, 3GB RAM, Core 2 Duo 2.8 and everything! But for some reason my computer freezes after 3 hours when running intense applications nonstop. Couldn't figure out what was wrong from calling Lenovo support, the software company, and was even thinking about downgrading to XP. Anyways, I made a random call to this business and the owner, very nice, knowledgeable guy and he walked me through to find where to look to find my problem. Instantly I found my process causing the error, Microsoft!!! You!!! After months of searching and all it really took was a quick call to ACI. Though I never came in for service because the issue was resolve via phone, the least I can do is write up a good review. Honest, helpful, and not thinking about trying to make a profit first. This computer repair place was just what I was looking for. My USB port on my desktop developed a problem and was shutting down the computer whenever it was used. ACI is small and not in a very visible area but I could get in and out in a hurry. The person that helped me seemed very competent. And he also said he'd have it figured out within two hours--no one week wait time to diagnose it, etc. He called me back within that time frame and said it was already fixed using a part they had on hand. Total cost was just under $100 including the part and labor. I will definitely go back to them again. Someone even carried the fixed computer back out to the car for me. read more

They give great computer advice over the phone, and super computer repair service at the counter. They accommodate geeks, that want to custom build, to novices like me, "Why can't I get my Ipod to work with my PC?". They have been in business for a very long time, moving from Northgate Way, to their own building a bit further north. Gracious, knowledgeable and patient, I highly recommend them. read more

not pleased with them as I was hoping to be. My mother used them for several occasions, because they are close to her. I had a corrupt PCU, and they had to service it three times to finally get it "right". Also, they tipped themselves on my bill for $20.00 without telling me what that was for. I wish they would of been upfront on what they charged. I was given a discount for my next tune up service, but again wasn't told what that tuneup included or what the final price was. I am only dong my computer repair services on angie list from now on, and I hate to give a one star to them but I really, really am so dissatisfied with them I don't feel guilty for leaving a one star review. sorry guys. read more

These guys are not simply good they are great. I don't mean a little - I mean alot. I have been going to buy stuff and get stuff fixed forever from them. Every single time they come through. Quickly and at a good price. I feel this is three reviews. One is for all the times I've gone. One for my sister who I sent her to them and they quickly fixed her broken system and she liked the experience enough to also upgrade her desktop to a faster CPU and memory. And once for my neighbor who I also sent there. He had his laptop at another well known PC repair place for over a week - they recommend buying a new laptop. I told him to take it to ACI - it was back and fixed in *one and half hours*. My neighbor told me about the experience and was very appreciative that I recommended them. I said - "I better write a Yelp review" ... and really I don't know how I missed writing this review. Reality is they are very low key and do a great job. I've gone to them for parts (probably more than five times), i've gone to them four times for various major PC upgrades, i've gone to them when I've broken things so badly that I know I have to give the problem to someone else and each time they come through swimmingly. I've sent my sister and neighbor to them and they both were surprised with the great service. My neighbor was more than appreciative that he didn't have to buy a new laptop - it turned out that the problem was software (not hardware as the other shop had told him). Anyway - this review is long overdue - my failing. I recommend ACI to anyone that has PC problems. And even beyond the repair front where they are great they are also knowledgeable, reasonable and very helpful if you have questions. read more
