I purchased an automatic door from Capitol Locksmith. It is technically a closer from LCN. The…read morereliability of an automatic door depends on seasonal adjustments, binding, and the play. Mike (goes by Dino) taught me about all of these things, whereas the previous vendor did not. He stopped by multiple times to make sure the door wasn't sticking and to make sure the system was working as designed. Do not go with any other vendor. Call these folks immediately. The system is quiet, and it works really well, and the service is excellent. It is normal to need adjustments, and when you do, service matters. The cost is reportedly in the middle for automatic doors. As per policy, a complete assessment of your current and future needs is free at Capitol Locks and on-site, so you should get a bid. Full Disclosure: my door did stick once since the last repair. I used the technique they taught me to give the wooden door play, and it hasn't acted up since.

Finally, the front door broke making it impossible to unlock it from both inside and out. We called the company that originally installed the locks but found out they no longer service residential homes. However, they gave us a couple of recommendations, and we feel extremely fortunate that the Lock Doc was the first to get back to us. Bill came within 35 minutes to take a look at our problems and went right to work! Within an hour and a half, he had every lock working beautifully! We were impressed and amazed at the skill, expertise and knowledge Bill had and shared with us. In the end the big problem was the door strike plates all needed adjusting and no new locks were necessary! He was totally up front, honest and reasonably priced. Now we can lock the door with one finger....no tugging or holding the door in anymore! He made sure we understood that was how the lock is supposed to function, and if it doesn't to call him back right away so as to prevent further destruction of the lock. What a fantastic businessman and just a great guy! I highly recommend The Lock Doc if you're experiencing lock problems or just want new locks! Dawn Egan
