The whole ignition lock needed to be replaced, and it started raining while this was happening so when it was done they came and picked me up from the nearby coffee shop where I'd been waiting. They charged less than they might've out of sympathy for this happening while I was out of town. No lock problems since. I called them to cut and program a new car key, which should have been a straightforward job. After they claimed it was done, I went to test the key -- and of course, it didn't work. When I called to let them know, I was told someone would get back to me. Days passed with no response. When I finally reached someone, I was met with an attitude like I was the inconvenience. The guy on the phone was rude, dismissive, and clearly didn't care about fixing their mistake. I ended up driving back to their shop, where the same person half-heartedly tried the key again, confirmed it didn't work, and then had the nerve to blame me for the issue. No apology, no offer to make it right -- just excuses and attitude. If you want to throw away your money on a business that doesn't stand by their work, this is the place for you. Fast forward to Ricky at Garage Door Pro who went above and beyond to research for options outside of his normal network. He ended up finding a Harmonn model that fit the bill, which was more reasonably priced. The new supplier had a delay and shipping issues that weren't Ricky's fault but he constantly kept tab on things for us. After a couple of months, the door arrived and Ricky delivered/installed it within a week in less than 4 hours. It came with a fresh door track, trim and other parts. So far, we haven't had any issues and I don't anticipate any but we have a 90-day service warranty and 3 year product warranty. Being locked out, can be a stressful situation no matter what... but received prompt, friendly, courteous service from Jake - the owner of " Locks and Unlocks". It was the first time, that I had the need of a locksmith's services. Being the day after C'mas, the first few companies I called were unavailable or had no staff that could help. I needed to not only get into my living space, but also needed to do laundry & pack for a flight leaving in 6 hrs. "Locks and Unlocks" came later in the evening, on Dec. 26th - didn't make me feel bad or that I was inconveniencing them over the holidays. I was completely put at ease & considered Jake, my C'mas Angel. He even made copies of the keys (that I had locked inside), on premise - before He left. They arrived at my residence in Santa's helpers hats! Nice touch. I asked which one was Santa and which one was the helper? The bigger guy points to Jake and says "He is, don't let my size fool you." What a great start. I showed them my concerns and let them know what I wanted to achieve. Four locks all with the same key. Two new door nobs, four new locks, and four new keys later, they were done within an hour. Jake also asked about the garage door opener. Had the code been changed? I said "I'd never thought of that! You guys must do this for a living or something." I was impressed with both of their professionalism and their competence. I was also fully satisfied with the work they performed. They are quick and friendly. There's another auto locksmith in Madison that works out of his van, but I could never catch him with free time--he was always busy out of town. Locks and Unlocks got me a duplicate key fob since I lost my other one a few weeks ago. I brought my spare fob to their Marshal address (its in the country) and Matt had me up and running quickly. It was half the price that a Toyota dealer in Madison quoted me. The key fob that they charged me for was almost the same price that Amazon was selling it for.?? Are these guys even making a profit? Jake was the most amazing and helpful man. He handled the ignition column in my car very fast and efficiently. Such great service! I locked my keys in my car and Jake came out right away to help. I called 2 other locksmiths and they were both a little apprehensive with the make and model of my car (older Porsche Cayenne) but Jake said it would be no problem! He opened my car quickly and even showed me that my key fob opened to reveal a key and where that key can go if needed. Very knowledgeable, respectful and friendly. Highly recommend them!! I thought I was stranded when my key wouldn't turn in the ignition, but not only did he come out to where I was and troubleshoot the problem, but he stayed late to take apart the ignition and make sure it was figured out. Jake was great!! I called about remote fob/chip key replacement for my car and he ordered it that day and programmed it the next. Had a new working key within 32 hours of talking to him! I had no idea that I could do this somewhere else other than the dealership and he did it for nearly $85 dollars less than what the dealership told me!! Jake arrived on time, professional demeanor, went to work on repairing/rekeying my old front door lock in addition to evaluating the 3 point lock on my deck door (which I didn't ask when I placed my order). Jake is the go to guy! He is always on time and knows his business. At my shop, the builder put the hinges on the outside. I never noticed. Someone could have pulled the pin and helped themselves to anything they wanted. Jake saw the problem, fixed it, and keyed the whole shop so employees would have after hour access.
