One of those things was reducing the number of keys hanging from my steering column and belt. A couple years ago while in the area, I stopped in this shop to replace a cracked vehicle key before it broke off. I saw a gold padlock on the counter with a house key in it. "You guys can actually make padlocks that use house and office keys", I asked. It was explained that it is possible. I immediately had some padlocks made for me, drastically reducing the senseless number of keys hanging from my steering column and making a small part of my life far more simple. I called to schedule a routine task (changing my locks) and was very surprised to have a locksmith come out that same night. He was pleasant and worked quickly, but the bill was ridiculously high. Essentially I was being charged as if this had been an emergency call. One of the locks he replaced turned out not to be compatible with the key used for all the other locks. I tried to reach him to discuss this, and that's when I discovered that he was back at his "real job" in Minneapolis. There are better companies out there, such as A-1, who do a better job and charge less.
