They got a replacement car key reprogrammed very quickly and they were very friendly. I would go back!

I had a malfunctioning lock for my trunk of my car, they told me i need to remove the lock cylinder from my vehicle trunk and bring it in. i did that along with my key, they made 1 new key and it worked in the lock, they then charged me $58 for a standard gm trunk key. Was not quoted a price or even a ballpark figure upfront. I feel ripped off. read more

I had a special key that I needed a copy of and Walmart and other key makers could not cut because they didn't have the blank, this went on for a year until today. When I drove by the intersection I though, do a U turn and see if they can make one. Not knowing that they close at 1pm on Saturday I walked in as they were closing at 1:07 and I was informed of the hours but what did I need, just a key. Here we go again with the I'm not sure that I can make that one but I might have something close that will work. Another employee asked if he could ring me up to speed along the closing and the guy says not yet because I'm not sure if it will work. Well it worked just fine and a year later I had a duplicate, so glad that I didn't need to use the spare key. read more

Definitely would not recommend this place for programming a key fob for your car. Inquired about having a second key fob programmed and wanted to see if they were cheaper than the dealer. I was advised that it would be $105... I then called Schlossmann Honda city dealer and they could do it for $80. I did not need a key cut that comes with the fob so I am not sure why Whitlow would still charge $105. read more

I come here for my emissions so I can't rate their work, I do all my own repairs. Place is always spotless inside. The employees are always very professional and very polite. I wish I could rate their mechanic skills but from what I see they seem to be very good cause they are always working on something. Anyways stop in for an oil change, repair or emissions. HORRIBLE customer service. The young kid I dealt with at the counter isn't very bright. Within 15 minutes of leaving the store after placing my order I received TWO phone calls from him asking for information that I had just provided while standing at the counter. They also told me that the initial quote they gave me was wrong and I'd have to pay almost 10% more. I not only repeatedly (at LEAST 3 times) told them I needed a drive-in type latch, I went so far as to show them a picture I took of it to make sure they new what I needed. A couple weeks later I pick up my door knob set, take it home, rip the old door knob out of the door and begin to put in the new one only to find they didn't give me, guess, a drive in latch. When I called and told them they didn't give me what I ordered I was told that, with a knob-less door, everyone is getting ready to leave for the day and I'd have to go back out there the next day even though they screwed up. They need to get smarter counter help who care about the customer. God help you if you're looking for something more complicated than a simple door knob. read more

Quality of Work - No complaints here.  I live in a rural area and getting someone to cut an program a new key for my car has been a challenge. Whitlow's (which is in the area where I work) did it in without any problems. Customer Service - Over promise and under deliver.... This is an important find if you need auto remote or transponder keys. Jaguar keys are very expensive ($400) and not all dealers have the equipment to program a new one for you. For $150, I had my defective remote replaced at Whitlow's and I also purchased a second transponder key. Additionally, for $9 per lock, if the owner brings in the lock, Whitlow's will re-key it. The staff is very friendly and professional. People contact them from all over the U.S. because there are few places like this. If you live in the Milwaukee area, this place is worth checking out. read more

Once I walked in the front door and saw the huge walls of key blanks and what looked to be 10 key grinders lined up on a bench, I just knew that driving up to West Allis amidst all the construction was going to be worth it. I took in a used Infiniti Intellikey fob I purchased on eBay to get reprogrammed to my car. Initially, I thought it was going to be a job that I would have to leave up to the dealer to resolve since you needed a special registered code from Nissan to program the key. I saved 35% on the labor price over the dealer, I walked right in without an appointment (they don't take them, but they turn it around quickly) and it works perfectly. Whitlow's rocks. Key duplication, lock rekeying, safes, keyless entry systems, chipped auto keys, they do it all. Impressive guys, unlike some teenager at the local home improvement store. Even though they have a huge wall of keyblanks, they usually know which one to pick, rarely having to make a second try. I've probably had about a hundred keys duplicated there, both personal and business, and I'm thinking maybe, maybe once we had a duplicate that didn't work as well as the original. Whitlow's has only once "failed" me - a child's bike lock with a Chinese pedigree, they told me they didn't stock a keyblank for it, and it'd be less expensive to just swap the lock for a Master Lock. They'll have good advice for you about security-related issues, their prices are not as cheap as some other places, but as they say, you get what you pay for. read more

I called to inquire about having all my locks re-keyed, because we had just purchased a house. The man I spoke with gave me the price to come out to re-key them, but then also told me if I brought the locks in to the store, it would be much more cost effective. I really appreciated that they told me about the cost savings; most companies won't do that. I love a good deal, so I took them in to be re- keyed. Literally, it was about $75 less on the first lock alone, and my total for 6 locks and 8 keys was less than what it would have cost for them to come out to my home for one lock. Additionally, the staff were fast, friendly, and able to accommodate my needs within about an hour and a half, even though it was a Saturday. I would definitely recommend Whitlow's, and will remember to use them the next time I need locksmith services. read more

Bought a house in Delafield that had six locking doors and each one had a different key. Wanted to drastically reduce the number of keys but there were bolt locks, door knob locks and locks in French doors. Dan came out and was able to re-key all of them to a single key! We purchased a lock for our 125 year old home, we had to get a super expensive one, as the doors were so much thicker back then. After a year and a half the bolt broke through inside the locking mechanism. Getting no help from Whitlow's - whatsoever - have been told to contact the manufacturer ourselves. WOW, unbelievable! Thanks for standing behind your product! NOT. Update ... after calling the mfr and finding out there was a lifetime warranty, and that they only deal through the company who sold the lock - we called Whitlow's back. They admitted their error, ordered the door knob, even had to look up the original order as we did not have a receipt. In the end, we did receive our new lock at no charge. Hopefully this customer service snafoo was an isolated incident. read more

I have not been treated so rudely in a long time! I was looking to buy locks for one of my duplexes (I have been using All Safe and Security for 20 years, but was thinking about switching locksmiths, sine All Safe is not open on the weekends). I was asking questions about the locks available, and their rekeying charges. The lobby was quite full, but one of the men behind the counter looked at the guy who was helping me ( he was presenting me with a quote for a $450 order of locks and service), and said " it's too busy in here. You need to help someone else"! RIDICULOUS! Needless to say, I stopped the gentleman helping me, and told him that it seemed he needed to take care of someone else.
