Right before we were about to call another company, Schmitz calls us and says they can get the seal on our door, with an 11:30 appointment time. The team showed up again around 8 AM, swapped the seal quickly, and then left all their trash from the job. I'm not impressed. Yeah, we got our new seal, but it took a whole week for no reason, and the company can't keep their own schedule.

I was promised top-tier safety and a lifetime warranty. However, during a professional home inspection on March 16, 2026, for the sale of my house, the system was flagged with TWO MAJOR SAFETY DEFECTS (Report #HOMESTART-726): - Excessive Spring Tension (Defect 4.4.1): The door was operating with hazardous force due to improper installation/tensioning. - Non-Functional Safety Eyes (Defect 4.5.1): The critical safety sensors failed to work entirely. Because I have already relocated to California and am in the middle of closing the sale, I could not wait for A1's warranty process.
