She told me that she would have someone out the following day between 12 and 2. Yay! Dan arrived today at 12:00. Very courteous and professional. He has been with the company for 18 years. That says alot. He replaced the spring and bushings (they were cracked) and lubricated all the moving parts. The door now works like new. On top of that, the cost of this service call was... I can only say... very reasonable. A+ I recommend you call them. :)

They took a look at the door, told us they could do the job, and then left. We didn't hear from them for a week. Right before we were about to call another company, Schmitz calls us and says they can get the seal on our door, with an 11:30 appointment time. The team showed up again around 8 AM, swapped the seal quickly, and then left all their trash from the job. I'm not impressed. Yeah, we got our new seal, but it took a whole week for no reason, and the company can't keep their own schedule.

Overcharged $2,200+ for defective work. Failed home inspection!…read more I am writing this to warn others about the poor workmanship and lack of reliability from A1 Garage Door Service. Service Details for Management: - Invoice #: 2546143306 - Service Date: Oct 20, 2025 - Technician: Michael Brania - Total Paid: $2,253.96 In October 2025, I paid a premium price of $2,253.96 for what was supposed to be a high-end "Max Life" spring and cable upgrade. I was promised top-tier safety and a lifetime warranty. However, during a professional home inspection on March 16, 2026, for the sale of my house, the system was flagged with TWO MAJOR SAFETY DEFECTS (Report #HOMESTART-726): - Excessive Spring Tension (Defect 4.4.1): The door was operating with hazardous force due to improper installation/tensioning. - Non-Functional Safety Eyes (Defect 4.5.1): The critical safety sensors failed to work entirely. Because I have already relocated to California and am in the middle of closing the sale, I could not wait for A1's warranty process. I was forced to pay another $715 to a different contractor to fix A1's mistakes immediately so the house could pass inspection and close on time. I have the inspection report and the repair receipts to prove this. I am extremely disappointed that a $2,200+ job resulted in safety defects just five months later. I expect management to contact me regarding a refund for the repair costs I had to incur due to your technician's failure.
