Takes pictures of high price items and gets within 15 pounds of his estimated weight price He was crystal clear and explaining everything to me and walked me through it no surprises and the guys packing show up headed by Chris were four hard-working head down guys with a sense of humor that made it very enjoyable for my wife and I, as they took care of everything wrapping then on moving day we had David the boss man came. Everybody worked equally as hard laughing just a little bit less. Everyone was first rate they treated us like family and we will never forget this part of the move. Price was fair. Estimation was way off! $5,000 to over $11,000. I gave a deposit of $1,000 which I found out later from my sister Allied Van Lines said you should not do, I was scared he was not going to follow through especially after I was not contacted a couple days like promised. We used Ace to move from San Diego to San Francisco. We did an entirely full service move - packing and unpacking included. I liked them because they give you a firm price - not like movers who charge by weight once everything has been loaded onto the truck and then you're stuck. The virtual consult used AI technology to estimate. The team that showed up to pack and load as well as unpack and load (both led by David) were great. Efficient and pleasant. We had 2 minor damages which were taken care of by our moving coordinator, Hilary, immediately. The communication was great. They were timely. Not the cheapest option but you get what you pay for! If you're moving out of seas, I IMPLORE YOU TO NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. The crew destroyed treasured belongings and the manager, Anthony Johnson held zero accountability or a response when my family and I voiced our heartbreak and concerns. Instead, all we got back was a message from the reimbursement company so now I am implied to give this review about the San Diego Ace Relocation Company. Due to Covid, my husband and I had to step in & out of the apartment when the company sent at least 9 people to pack our belongings in our two bed, one bath apartment and I CANNOT stress enough how TERRIBLY THEY "PACKED" OUR BELONGINGS. The crew that packed our belongings threw glass (a coffee pot) on top of my fridge pictures, tupperware and various items in my kitchen causing me to cut my hand open upon opening the "crate" that they call boxes. It is just a paper that they throw your items into, bag them and tape it up like a gift wrap. However, they still record it as a crate in your invoice. We have had over $1500-$2,000 in damages because of the crew members who packed our belongings. My wedding dress, my husbands Airforce Service Dress were all abruptly thrown into a box and now they are ruined from being crumbled and the mildew that accumulated in storage. My wedding tiara is also completely bent and unusable. Whoever packed the kitchen also took it upon themselves to shove spices/seasonings, hospital prescribed ibuprofen and epsom salt into the paper wrapping with my Tupperware and as a result, all of my items are bent and covered with all kinds of substances. My pictures frames are bent, two broken, and even my dog of 13 years who recently passed away had her paw molds and old collars thrown into the bottom of wrapping paper with a handmade dream catcher, that is now bent. The items in my bedroom were also thrown into paper and wrapped and jammed together and now bent. My jewelry stand that my wedding tiara was also thrown in and damaged WITH my tiara that was well over $100. My husbands $700 desktop was never even wrapped throughout its shipment and is completely broken. Even his motorcycle helmet is badly scratched. Our main coffee table was disassembled and the parts to reassemble were not given or packed. Two of my lampshades were bent and disfigured. When unpacking the kitchen dishware and other fragile items, our heavy 5lb cast iron skillet was placed haphazardly on the top of all of our fragile items (glass dishes and fragile apothecary jars). Our sharp kitchen knives were thrown in the box with our dishes without any proper labeling. This type of carelessness also resulted in bodily damage, which I have reluctantly recorded at the time that it happened. I would also like to point out that the Packing Inventory states that there were 48 "cartons." I numbered each BOX that we received and counted 20 BOXES. That means 28 of our items listed "cartons" were discarded into paper, wrapped and taped together which resulted in numerous damages as well as bodily damage, which I would like to point out once again. The packing paper is also pictured which reached the top of the ceiling in my house, further concluding that our items were wrapped in PAPER. My family and I have several damages to our items and after going two months without our stuff, we were heartbroken and distraught to discover our stuff treated the way that that they were. I voiced every one of these concerns, word for word with Anthony Johnson and never got a reply so I'd like the public to know what you're getting with his staff. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS COMPANY. This post has to do with corporate. Not necessarily San Diego. I relocated from Chicago to SD for a new career move. I entrusted this company through a long term friend who is a terminal manager. Not only is this company 3-4K more expensive than their competition. They are completely devoid of anything reminiscent of customer service. I paid for a TV install via their third party which wasn't ever completed because of their lack of expertise and they left a hole in my hole that they still have not paid for. I was then quoted 3 x the rate for their "speciality" install team to complete the job that was booked weeks out- I called Best Buy and the job was done for hundreds. Low hundreds not the thousands I was quoted for and they arrived in three business days. I then finally received my items from my move only to have discovered my unopened, brand new pair of designer shoes over 1K in value was missing. I attempted to go through the claims process and unknowingly put theft on the claim- when in actuality I had no idea of theft or loss, I tried to contact the poor excuse they call a claims rep by the name of Jon Edington. This man did not return my correspondence after a month. Which he emails me. Despite my repeated calls. Then proceeds to talk in circles about my claim which clearly needed to be amended based up facts on their process and what actually happened. Then he lies and tells me he would consult a manager. To which to this day has never returned any correspondence which began in April and ended in May with him. There is a lack of accountability all around. I then after 2 months asked to reach his manager. This poor excuse of a manager also didn't call me back for 2-3 weeks after several voicemails. Brandi Johnston. I then had to call my entrusted friend Brent G. Who was the only person I talked to during this entire process with consistency. He actually calls, emails and follows up within 24 hours. Most often the same day. He then reached out to this poor excuse of a manager Brandi Johnston who then after he and VP became concerned finally decided to call me back and lies to me saying she tried to reach me previously when call records support she has not. She basically double talks me. Hangs up the phone and again no resolve to my lost items. Perhaps there is collusion among the claims group. The salient point here is the buyer should be weary of a company this inept at customer service. You gouge me for a moving fee, lose care of one of my items entrusted to you then back track your way out of paying for these items. Then finally call me back in June after a claim was started in April. This company couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a beach ball when it comes to customer service. There are many moving companies. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS ONE. There could care less about customer service. You do not have your items insured despite what they tell you and I highly suggest you place an AirTag or other tracking devices in your prized items. This company seems to think they won't be held accountable. They just met the wrong customer. There will be consequences and this review is only the tip of the iceberg. The entire claims management team and it's underlings are trash. Complete Trash. How this man Jon Edington gets away with neglect and discrimination of a customer with a legitimate claim is highly egregious...not mention the condescending and discriminatory tones used by the manager Brandi Johnston in reference to me during conversation confusing gender terms completely disrespecting my manhood. So now they just put a civil rights issue on their heads. They will rue the day they ever neglected to respond in proper form. I recently moved to San Diego from Northern California. I was referred to Carrie Corless at Ace and she got her team on it to get me moved. Aaron did a great job doing a virtual and very accurate assessment of all of my goods to get a good estimate. Vanessa, our driver, showed up and took charge from start to finish. She handled that 53 foot truck like a boss as well as my very large move with great passion and care. Paco was also great getting our stuff loaded into the truck and made sure it all fit like a glove. Bed bugs!!!! Do not use them! Never had anything like bed bugs before but as soon as they dropped off our furniture (and mattress) after being in their storage facility we started getting bitten. Had to throw away our nice Tempurpedic mattress and buy a new one... still one month later still getting bites from the infestation they gave us. Now paying to an exterminator to treat the whole house. So far the cost from their bed bugs has surpassed the entire cost of the move! I had to use Ace for a recent work relocation from Orange County to San Diego. During the move, my 65inch TV was mounted incorrectly at my new residence and the screen showed a bright light opposite the mounting screw when lighter colors showed on the screen. I opened a claim using the very complex online claim process and received written communications stating I signed off that the TV powered on and so there is nothing they could do. Having moved into a new house with no channels setup or media to watch, I had no choice but to sign off without inspecting every pixel on the screen. Knowing what I know now, I would ask the movers to wait for me to hook up a video and watch an entire movie to make sure everything was working fine. I have let my corporate office know about my experience and hope they limit the types of moves Ace can be assigned to. If you are limited to using Ace, have another company move your TV's and electronics. read more

But they steal your goods and the majority of the items they move get returned to you damaged. And when you file a claim, they take zero responsibilities. We were in a time crunch to secure a packing and moving company. Frank Green was very professional in assessing our home for the items that needed to be packed and moved from Southern CA to Northern CA. He wore a mask and maintained his distance when in our home. Packers and movers showed up with masks but as the day went on the masks came off. Granted the weather was warm but it made us uncomfortable. When the movers came to unload our items masks were not worn at all. Items were carefully packed but not well labelled. We must have 10 boxes of boxes labelled "plastic dishes" and we do not have that much plastic. Bed, desks and dinning table were correctly reassembled however lamps were dismantled but not all parts for a lamp put in the same box. read more

Long distance moves are scary for everyone. Loading all of your belongings on a truck and transporting them several hours drive away, you fear so much that your things will be damaged. Thankfully, ACE relocation has a team that includes Vanessa and Francisco. All moves are challenging, but on both ends of our move, our home had limited access for trucks. Vanessa's packing and moving crew had to shuttle our belongings using small trucks to the larger truck and to do the opposite of that on the delivery end. It was a very challenging move, to say the least, but every step of the way they were kind, yet diligent and careful, getting the job done quickly and efficiently and safely. I don't have enough good things to say about Vanessa, Francisco, and all of their helpers. If you need to relocate, ask for them when you hire ACE relocation services. You won't be disappointed. My saga officially begins four years ago, but it started even earlier than that, when my darling grandmother was alive. She and I used to do the crossword puzzle together at her dining room table. We sat around the table as she read her poetry and as we shared frozen treats from the much-missed Banana Boat Creamery. After she died I inherited her table. It really meant so much to me. Unfortunately, the table met its demise four years ago during a move from Northern California to San Diego. The Ace Relocation driver (nice guy) who came up from SD hired a crew of Sacramento locals to assist him. The packers were a sketchy bunch. I remember I walked in on one of them helpfully telling the driver which motel he could "get laid." They spent the first day packing, and then returned the following day to load up the truck. One of the packers tilted a heavy piece of furniture onto just two of its two legs, which immediately buckled. The knucklehead then switched the weight to the remaining two legs, which also broke off. Meanwhile the driver had estimated they'd be done by 4pm. Right around then, they must have started earning overtime, because, according to witness reports, they slowed way down and started singing and dancing. When they finished it was after 10pm, and then we were finally able to begin the 9-hour trek to San Diego. We lived on a thin curvy road, so the packers (and driver) had had to put our belongings in a small rental truck and ferry them to an 18-wheeler. Apparently, at this point they took leave of their senses and just crammed stuff into the truck willy nilly. I don't know what they were thinking, if they had philosophical issues with the laws of physics or what, and I don't know exactly what they piled on the table (couches, gold bullion?) to make it splinter the way it did, but the table and numerous other pieces of furniture were ruined. Oh, and the driver left a piece of outdoor furniture sitting in our driveway, our neighbors reported. We had to bug him several times to pick it up on one of his next trips up to Northern California. For more than two years, we remained oblivious to the furniture packing disaster. We dutifully paid thousands of dollars annually in storage fees while we lived in temporary housing. Finally in January of 2010, we had found a home and requested delivery of our stuff from storage. It cost nearly $4,000 for Ace to send several guys nine miles down Highway 52 to drop off our boxes in our living room and place our heavy furniture in rooms. The dropper offers were nice and all, but when they opened the bins containing our furniture, the ugly revelation came out of all the damaged pieces put in by the knucklehead packers years before. The unpackers seemed genuinely shocked. They said that they had never seen anything like it. Months went by and I struggled to put together the claim form to submit to Ace Relocation. So much furniture relating to storage - shelves and a cabinet - were broken, and the brackets to a metal storage shelf could not be found. Also, because we were planning a remodel, it was hard to unpack our boxes and finish taking stock of our losses. I finally submitted a claim form, and Ace sent their "best" repair guy to evaluate our damaged items. He was able to repair some of the items, but he first took a few short cuts that we made him redo. Also, the poor guy suffered an extensive illness, so it took him a while to get around to doing the repairs. My grandmother's table, the one I had planned to sit at doing the crossword puzzle with my own children and, years from now, their children, was shattered, a total loss. We were offered a couple of hundred bucks for it. For the move and storage fees, Ace Relocation was probably compensated over $30,000, a great deal footed by the Hubster's company. So why did I never submitted a claim for the metal shelving? The knucklehead packers had lost nearly all the brackets, leaving just a couple on the shelf to taunt me. I guess a perverse mix of honesty and optimism that I would find that the brackets tucked into some unpacked box. By all rights, I should have. I checked online, and the replacement value of this small pieces of plastic is about $50! I feel defeated. What's a three letter word for a moving company I can't recommend? A-C-E read more

The initial experience was fine, but it quickly went down hill. Moving estimate was severely off, driver got lost and I had to help find him a route to my house, furniture was broken and damaged (including a expensive custom farm table), and to add insult to injury - customer service was a joke in remedying these many issues. We had a great experience with Ace Relocation Systems and Atlas van Lines when we recently moved from San Diego, CA to Longmont, CO. Kevin who came out to our house to give us an estimate was super friendly and efficient. We had 4 different companies give us estimates and Ace both came in the lowest and seemed most professional. Our coordinator Michelle helped us through the moving process and they were flexible and willing to work with us when our closing date got pushed. The moving crew were great guys and let me tell you, my husband's got some really heavy stuff in the garage, and they did a great job getting everything out of there. The crew in CO were great too, and given it was -4 degrees F when they delivered our stuff they deserve an extra star! We are so happy we used Ace Relocation Systems, they made our move very stress-free and smooth. We would definitely use them again! read more

The communication methods of Ace is definitely up to par. I needed furniture moved from Los Angeles to San Diego hired Ace relocation systems. I was assigned a person who handled my account , was e mailed confirmation a week in advance, a day in advance then the same day I was called by the driver confirming pickup and expected arrival time. The team assembled my furniture, placed rugs on the floor while moving the furniture, wore masks they were very polite and professional. I wish I could give this company 10 stars. To be honest, 1 star is too generous but it's the lowest choice available..... I've moved many times in the past 10 years and this was by far the worst experience. I very politely and repeatedly pointed out some electronic items that needed extra care and detail when being wrapped. At the delivery end of our move they delivered the items very roughly and carelessly. We found the majority of our boxes were incorrectly labelled and I had to move everything myself after they left because they were put in the wrong rooms. When we unpacked them some of those items were not wrapped at all and ended up broken. Ace relocations are refusing liability and their insurance division will weasel their way out of any responsibility. It was a horrible experience and I would advise anyone to stay well away from this company if you value your belongings. read more

Very professional, great company to work with. I am a AAA member, so they offered me various choices for my moving needs, and this company was a subcontractor of one of the main ones they partner with. I was very satisfied with all the process, especially considering that I moved from city to city too fast and with practically not much time to arrange my move. The communication was very fluid and I never felt that no one cared, all the opposite. The only but is that the day of the move I was ready in advance and they came late, but I understand that is not right on as they pack in the same truck stuff from other customers as well and scheduling is difficult. These guys did a teriffic job in moving my goods. I had to move my one bedroom from San diego to Sacramento so i contacted bunch of movers. According to price and reviews I choose Priority moving to move and they contacted Ace Relocation systems i guess. Driver George and helpers did a terific job in moving. So is the co-ordinator Jessica and Sales person Guy. Only thing delayed was the full amount payment receipt which i got later from jessica. I didn't had much of the stuff to move or break, so no complexities. My experience with these guys was very good. read more

Worst moving experience EVER! In November I moved from San Diego to Santa Clara. The day started with the movers calling me late and saying they couldn't find my house. They argued with me and I had to drive to where they were and guide them the block and a half. Then the packing experience. They missed drawers and I had to follow them around and pick stuff up. They threw ALL my power, ethernet, and cables into one box. They took stuff apart and put the parts in different boxes. Now the delivery. They delivered stuff to wrong rooms. I found the base to my computer monitor from my office in the living room in a box marked "Living Room Lamp Shade". They took stuff apart while packing and did NOT reassemble them at the destination. One example were the shelves to my bookcases. They left it to me to figure out what shelves went to what cabinets. It was a good thing that I taped the instructions for building my CD cabinet inside of it. I would have NEVER been able to put it back together. My living room couch is still not completely together. They do not offer a recycling service for the boxes. All in all, I would advise you not to use this company for a move. read more

I had a move with Ace Relocation from Southern to Northern California last Nov 30/Dec1 st . The packers and moving team were excellent. On Dec 6th, their driver and a local moving team unloaded the truck at my new home. As I did during the first part of the move, I showed my appreciation for their work both by providing food and drinks and by giving a good tip to all. At the end, the driver gave me "BINGO" check-off inventory form to sign--with no indication that signing it meant that I received ALL of the items that came into their care, furniture as well as everything in boxes. It was simply given to me for signature while the driver waited so that he could leave. Unfortunately, I found after a week of unpacking boxes, that all of my costume jewelry (~$2500-$5000 worth) was missing. I had hand-carried my fine jewelry with me, but assumed the less expensive items would be safe. I was wrong, a lifetime of collecting items while traveling, gifts from friends and otherwise was gone. Even a watch that was not special to anyone except me: an old Seiko watch that belonged to my husband who passed away in 1982. I notified the company of these missing items on Dec 15th and was told that they would "see if they find anything out". But, that I should fill out their claim form, which I did on Dec 18th. On January 11, I received a very perfunctory letter stating that they "completed their review and were unable to accept liability for the missing items as they were to assume my signature meant all of the items had been delivered and there are no notations of missing items noted at time of delivery". Did they even bother in the time period after I reported it to investigate the personnel who unpacked the truck? I'm sure someone would have noticed such a large amount of jewelry being distributed by one or more of these men. As a previous reviewer commented, how could Ace expect anyone to account for everything in 5 minutes or hold up the crew while the customer unpacks and validates each item? It is physically impossible. I certainly cannot recommend this company based on the loss of my items as well as their apathetic response to the situation. read more

AWFUL expierence! Movers damaged 5 items, 5!! When I submitted a claim, their online system didnt save all 5 items nor the 8 pictures I submitted so I ended up having to email and delayed process. FYI they dont reimburse based on value of items, rather the weight. So my $90 mattress cover was valued at $2.40. My neighbors who also submitted claims waited 6-12 months for their reimbursement. read more

The gentlemen who moved our stuff out of our condo were friendly, professional and took great care to make sure everything was torn down and packed well. My wife and I recently moved from San Diego to Boston. We looked at a number of movers and ended up choosing Ace. They let us come get boxes for free at their warehouse, and the load on the San Diego end was very professional. We worked with Kevin Grant on our contracts and he was very professional and accomodating to our needs. We drove cross country so Kevin coordinated the delivery such that our stuff did not arrive before we did and this was at no extra cost to us. The driver and his moving team got to our house in Boston exactly when they said they would and did a great job unloading our stuff. We were staying with family and they loaded it neatly into the garage and attic which saved us a lot of money by not needing a storage unit. My only concern was that my credit card was charged the day prior to our stuff arriving but everything was delivered as promised. The only damage during the move was a glass desk that was broken during the loading of the truck in San Diego. I filed a claim and received an immediate response from multiple people at Ace. I just received a check for the exact amount submitted on my claim. Ace is not the least expensive company out there but I think the value is there and you get what you pay for. I would certainly recommend anyone considering a move to have them give you an estimate. read more
