Great store very knowledgeable and helpful. I'll shop here before a big box any day! Gladly pay a little more for the service and knowledge.

Before massive orange or blue hardware stores. It seems like ACE was the original friendly neighborhood hardware store. But no, this is actually a new-ish location (2017, maybe?) and I haven't really internalized its presence. But I should. You should too. In the age of the aforementioned hardware behemoths, it's actually pretty darn rad that this spot is here. It's the same owners as "The Store" which is a specialty grocer that has a very fond spot in my heart, as it was grandma's grocer of choice. It's really an eclectic spot which reminds me of those old time hardware stores that do sell hardware, but also party supplies and decor and all kinds of things that don't fit into the category of "groceries." I'm a fan. But those big stores got popular for a reason, so if you are hardcore set on just hardware and lots of varieties of it everywhere, this smaller ACE will not have the same selection. But there's something charming about not having a billion choices, and about finding what you need, directed by a friendly person who will help you find it.

In a former life I visited here frequently for some of the odds and ends a fella might need as he's remodeling a house or building a deck. As a hardware store, there's muuuuch to be desired. I don't think I'd come here to shop around for anything. The few shelves of tools, hardware, and other fit-in-your-cart supplies they have on hand are more for convenience when you're there picking up or ordering more hefty stuff. So, it's nice that they carry a small selection of bolts and screws and tape measures and shelf brackets (and so on), but don't plan on this as a swing by and browse kind of adventure. The real bread and butter here is obviously the building supplies. And you should probably have a little swagger in your step when you come through the door and know what you're after. The guys here have always been nice enough to help me stumble through what I was after as I employed my best construction laborer vocabulary, but I can bet it would get tired if I was constantly describing what kind of 2 x 12 I needed by the smell of the wood. "You know, kind of like Christmas trees but less sappy smelling." Kudos to them and their patience. Stock was a serous victim of the housing crunch. This place used to be bumpin' but it's a ghost town nowadays. Their staff was cut down by at least half (I want to say closer to 75% or more) so be patient as they try to get a guy out to the yard to find your stack of 12-footers. The public is always welcome here. They do have "showroom" of some of their door products, casing and trim, and other things they can walk you through, but it's really an insider's world there. Prices can vary wildly. Sometimes the big box stores have better 2x4 prices, but sometimes Stock could crush their prices on more uncommon cuts and materials. It's always worth a phone call, especially if you're buying materials in any kind of bulk. When used right, this can be a great place for good deals, and the salesman will bust their butts to track down what you need and make it convenient for you to pick it up or have it delivered to your jobsite. Never hurts to call them for a quote or to stop by, but just don't expect an orange-aproned experience.

Inside of 36 hours, the freezer stopped working and the fridge was no longer cold. We lost 7 days of stored milk. For anyone that has ever breastfed a baby, that is so much! I immediately called Lowe's and they told me to call the repair folks. I called the repair people from Frigidaire. It took 1.5 weeks to get the guy here. He told me the compressor has gone out and that it is leaking freon onto my floor. It will take 3-4 weeks to get a new compressor. Order was placed. So, since I was sold a faulty fridge, I called Lowes this morning and the associate, Nathan, told me the manager will call me back today. The manager did not call me back. Nathan did. After he told me my "options", of which non were even close to satisfactory, I asked to speak to a manager. Nathan said he would transfer me to the manager. I kept being rerouted back to Nathan who was apparently not aware that the manager has left for the day. He told me that I am outside of the return window of 48 hours, even though I called and did exactly what they said to do. I have been on "hold", which is not actually a hold, for over 40 minutes. Just silence. If this is how Lowe's treats their frequent customers, I am not interested in dealing with them any longer nor am I interested in spending anymore money in their stores. I shall continue to call until Lowes makes this right. Get ready, I am no longer going to pleasant... ***Update*** I called back after being on a silent hold for an hour. Nathan answered the phone. I told him that he is just making more angry and he needs to settle this mess. Without saying anything... another hold. This time, with music. A woman named Charlotte answered. I asked if she was a manager, to which she confirmed, but she is the manager in the front of the store. Nathan seemed to pass me off to a completely different department to make sure this was no longer his problem. I told Charlotte the whole messy story. She was quick to ask who had treated me like that. I was happy to divulge the information. Charlotte began by apologizing, profusely. Then we started discussing how she can make it right. She found me a replacement fridge that is actually an upgrade and is not charging us the difference. This is how you make a customer happy! This review will be updated again when the fridge is actually here and functional. Review changed to 3 stars, thanks to Charlotte.

Kobalt advertises their hand tool warranty as "hassle free," but my experience was the opposite. I tried to warranty a 1/4-inch ratchet, and I was told that because it originally came from a set--and because they no longer carried that exact same ratchet--they could not replace it in store. Instead, I was told I would have to go through Kobalt. That does not feel hassle free. It feels like customers are punished for buying a tool set, and if the exact tool is discontinued, you may be out of luck. Be cautious when trusting any warranty that claims to be "hassle free." My experience showed otherwise.

But I don't recommend buying plants from Lowe's because they do not take good care of their plants. their new plants tend to die very quickly because how they maintain them. A positive tho is if you get them the minute they get delivered to the store you will get a great plant for a cheap price compared to other garden nursery's. Their employees tend to not know much about plants either. so they are not helpful. The employees tend ignore your presence when you are there as well. I highly recommend Home Depot over Lowe's especially for their plants.
