I've been to two of their locations now and someone in management is giving great guidance. Customer service is a 12 out of 10! No joke... I've not shopped at an ace hardware one time where I didn't feel like I just made a friend. My go to South meadows location did not have the tool I was looking for but even knowing that these are independently owned locations, they went above and beyond to locate what I needed at another location. It was worth the drive to lemon valley to purchase exactly what I needed simply because of their outstanding customer support. All of the employees I've had dealings with give off "I own stock in this company" vibes. Oh let's not get started on the fabulous freezer full of exotic pies from a chic pie shop in Northern California!!! Yup, I went in to purchase an air compressor for my bike and walked out with a Blueberry AND Boysenberry Pie. Ace Hardware is full of surprises, ALL good. Harbor freight is a good place to get some needed tools in a hurry. The quality is not the best. I…read morewas in the middle of nowhere, had to buy a socket set to put together the cargo carrier that slides into the hitch. The socket set would not switch from tighten to loosen very easily. And once switched, that socket would skip while tightening. Also, the freshly opened socket set box would not close. The latches were not lined up correctly. The nice thing about Harbor freight, as you can return stuff without much of a problem. It's like they understand sometimes the quality of their stuff it's pretty low. I also bought a hydraulic jack and when I was jacking up the truck, the seal popped on the jack and hydraulic fluid spilled everywhere. Yes they did take it back, however, you want reliability and don't want to have to make two trips. Some things that I bought that worked quite well were the dollies and the rack that fit in the tow hitch to carry luggage or other things on the back of my van. When you do buy something that actually is working. It's a good value compared to other companies. Mostly it's hitting and miss though. The workers are nice, and as well, when you order something oversize, they always have someone help you to get it out to your vehicle and help you put it in your trunk. Finally, I still enjoy the monthly coupon. Coupons where you get some free stuff when you go in. Over the years, I cannot tell you how many free things I got from Harbor freight. Free is free. That is the best value lol. Would recommend downloading the app so you can see their weekly/monthly ads . You can search for stuff online and buy it. The app will also tell you which stores have the item you need... the app almost always has a 10% discount on one item. That helps when you purchase something that cost over $200. Bottom morning, I will still use Harbor freight for items needed quickly, but I don't care if they last .

Chris was the whiz that worked there, he was able to get the correct faucet stems and accompanying parts to make my plumbing job much easier. Unlike the large big box hardware stores that offer no customer service, Chris was able to grind/cut off the older faucet parts to find out what replacements I needed. This alone was value that a big box hardware store could not offer. These guys are great at this store.

Honestly if you need something standard just go to Ace Hardware and save money. But if you need something different THIS is your go to store! They are also able to answer questions about propane quick connects and other hose related questions. They pretty much do everything hose related including some auto and diesel and hydraulic and I'm sure more. On a different note I needed to use the restroom. CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! Shout out to Moana Nursery staff today We went to the Moana Nursery ladybug release for kids…read moretoday and the kiddos had a scavenger hunt throughout the nursery and earned ladybug T-shirts, made a pinecone bird feeder , arranged a bouquet of flowers, saw caterpillars on milk weed , planted a Marigold in a pot to take home., learned about carnivorous plants and brought home a Venus flytrap, and received a little container of ladybugs to release in their garden. It was a hoot. Great job by Moana Nursery and their staff in educating kids about planting a gardening, the importance of ladybugs, value of carnivorous plants, creating floral arrangements, and making home bird treats.
