Mata Hardware Store has been closed for over a year. Initially an "ACE Hardware Store" but they droppped the affiliation to save additional costs to operate profitability. What killed Mata Hardware, the Narrow minded people on "Next Door" complaining that their prices were higher than Home Depot. It Was very conveinient popping in for less than 5 minutes for some nails, washers etc. Now Home Depot is our only option and takes up more time. Do these people ever complain that a Six Pack of Beer at 7/11 costs more too? These hard working people risked hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to run this business and fools that have no idea what it takes to run a business got it closed. Shop local! This is a great hardware store to get away from the big box stores. Very friendly and helpful people, It has a nice cozy feel to it. Small piece lumber in the store, love the amount of merchandise they provide. They also sell gardening materials and plants. Definitely worth checking out! read more

Grand opening today at Madame hardware true value. Came in to pick up a few things and they handed me a bucket as part of their grand opening sale and everything that fit in my bucket I got 10% off of. Friendly helpful staff helped us locate some of the electrical items we needed. Easy check out and convenient location to our neighborhood. Highly recommend you stop and check these folks out. Move over big box stores!!! I decided to paint a room, my refillable paint stick was not complete. I was dreading going to the big box store and realized I'VE GOT TRUE VALUE UP THE STREET!!!! Let me tell you! They had exactly what I needed, the guys in the shop were great (and funny)! I was in & out of the store in maybe 10 minutes. Everything is clean and well organized. When I have more time I plan on just wandering thru the store so I can get a little more familiar with the store. Thank you for opening your business! read more

I took them a screen door that was wonky and needed a new 1 thinking they would just order me a brand new one of the same. lo and behold they took mine apart. Use the same parts I gave them which were wonky in the first place and just put new screen inside which didn't really need replacing and charge me $100. Some kind of major rip off. that llneeded to be replaced because it was wonky in the first place. What I Was the same skeleton with new screen in it. It was still wonky(which is what I gave it to them to Fix! ) making excuses about what this and that cost. He didn't use any new parts except the screen! I will not in good conscience EVER recommend them to anyone. CustomerService, he lied to me about what was done and what wasn't done and tried to make excuses for taking advantage of a senior. Stopped by to get some outdoor plants and potting soil. The guy checking me out asked if there was anything else I need. I hesitated because it was a specialty item but I asked if they have laundry detergent for sensitive skin. He smiled and said they do! This place is closer to my house than the large grocery stores and carries many household goods. It's well worth the stop. If nothing else but for the friendly staff. read more

I've shopped here a few times and have always been able to find what I needed and greeted with exemplary customer service. The store is very organized and clean and the staff is very helpful. However, today they exceeded even that, upon exiting the gym next door, I notice my front tire on my motorcycle was flat so I went inside to see if there was a pump or compressor I could use to get my motorcycle home. Sunit (not sure on spelling) went out of his way and pulled his personal portable compressor from his vehicle and even helped with the repair. After some conversation, I found out he is the owner of the store and that his family is local. Every time I have come in I have seen him working hard alongside his staff. People in the area should try shopping at this store if they haven't already. The customer service is far superior to the big box stores, and the inventory is very complete, at the store itself and of course through True Value on line. I recently bought a rock hammer that the counter person at the store ordered for me on line since it was outside the normal inventory one would expect at any hardware store. Neither Home Depot nor Lowe's had this item available at their stores. Home Depot did have the item available on line, for $45 when the Ace price was $34. We really should patronize this store to help ensure it stays in business. It is a great retail asset for our neighborhood! read more

This is our new "neighborhood" hardware store. My wife and I were very excited when they opened, close enough to walk or bike to and not a big box store. Great! So we've shopped there 10 ish times and planned to make this our go-to hardware store. We own a house in the neighborhood and as houses are, they always need some repair or upgrade. So from the first time I road my bike there they let me park it inside as there are no bike racks out front...today I road up there and they asked me not to bring my bike in. Which would be fine, but the manner in which the manager (?) asked, put me off. I guess they have so much business that they don't need mine, you vote with your money. BTW the owner was standing right there and didn't say a word. read more
