I called the store this morning because I had a UPS package to drop off and wanted to confirm they even accept UPS packages before I made the drive to the store on my lunch break. The employee on the phone was nice and said they do accept UPS packages. Upon arriving the worker immediately says oh that looks like a UPS package. I immediately knew what she was about to tell me. I told her I called before making the drive and the employee that answered told me they did accept UPS. All she said was "well he lied" and looked away annoyed. I'm disappointed I made the drive for nothing especially when I made sure to confirm with the store directly beforehand. Make sure all your employees are informed and on the same page!!! This place is really nice I wasn't expecting what I just witnessed. It's like hallmark inside but outdoorsy. Some bird, butterfly, angels and toys plants. I went in for pool supplies which is a good deal. We left with home made sour candy and stuff for the pool. The second employee was very helpful he was a man the first employee a woman was not helpful she ran right pasted me. A customer helped me when that lady ignored me. The woman at the cash register she was a sweet heart. I really want the butterfly pin and the blue bird pocket bird. My nana loved butterflies she died in 2008 and my neighbor Lottie loved birds we bonded over it she just passed. read more

One of the handles on my kitchen cabinet broke, and I knew I needed to actually see a person to help me. I didn't want to go to Home Depot as I would have been in my own to figure it out. I came in and was instantly greeted, I told the guy my problem and he called Irvin over to help me. Irvin was absolutely amazing, he walked me through what I needed to do to fix the problem. This is definitely going to be my go to place for any home improvement project. Even if I pay more than the big stores it's worth it to me to be able to speak to a knowledgeable person! read more

This is as good as ACE in The Woodlands! They looking to expand. I wanted a Christmas mat to insert in my Greentree Mat and there were at least 15bto pick from. Service was phenomenal and the mat was reasonably priced. Love it! read more

Be aware that ALL Ace Hardware Stores are individually owned and have different prices for identical products. I bought a plumbing item at M&D Supply and returned it 4 days later unused and new at Ace Hardware on Jones Rd. Their price is 20% less, so I lost 20%. Also, older gentleman at M&D was rude and had poor communicative skills. Won't go there again. read more

Tom delivered the grill assembled today and left a personal note to me letting me know he tried to put the grill in the place I wanted it and to remind me to register my product. This my local neighborhood ace! I love the convenience factor, how polite everyone is, and just the overall store. The one piece that I'm not always super happy with are the prices for the products. I appreciate how convenience costs, but sometimes it's just so dramatically different I'll wait to purchase until I'm at a big box store. Overall it's good! They keep a decent stock of items So you don't have to worry about not having enough x size screws. Everyone there is polite and are willing to help you. With the smaller store everyone knows where everything is. Which is paramount when I'm in a hurry :) They even refill propane ! read more

I have lived less than a quarter of a mile from this Ace for over 15 years and I have been a loyal customer ... until today. My husband asked me to pick up some screws (3.5 inch screws). I saw Irvin when I walked in and asked him if he could help. It seemed as though I was inconveniencing him, which is very uncommon for the employees at this store. He asked several more questions I didn't know the answer to because I only had what my husband gave me. I called my husband to get clarification and the employee (Irvin) laughed at me. Naturally, this was condescending and sexist. When I asked for something else, he again talked down to me, implying that I didn't know what I was doing. Immediately after I left, I called the manager, who "couldn't believe" that one of his best employees would treat a customer this way. I told him the story and apparently laughing at a customer wasn't enough to convince this manager that his employee needs some training on how to treat ALL customers with respect. The manager's apology was weak at best and he continued to defend his employee. As a woman, I feel unwelcome in this boys club and will be shopping elsewhere from now on. read more

I had a couple of great experiences at this store in the last few weeks. I broke a treasured book end and bent the metal piece supporting the side. They found the screws I needed, flattened out the metal piece for me, and explained the proper way to screw it back together. The other day I stopped by with the broken magnet strips that sealed the shower door tight. They did not have the product, but one of the men searched all over the internet to see who might have it. He measured it and researched for a good 15 minutes and found a hardware supplier that showed to carry the item. He printed the page and gave me the phone number to call. Today I was able to order the item and will make the repair. Now that is service beyond. That's how you make and keep customers coming back. Thanks Ace the helpful hardware place. read more

Overall satisfied. Friendly staff. Except for the post office people working in the back! They've been very rude. I've been on several different occasions and only once was I ever greeted or asked if I needed assistance. I once had to wait for the workers to finish their conversation before even being looked at. Today all I got was a "yup" after I said hi and told him I was dropping off a package. No "hello" or "have a nice day." He couldn't even hand me my receipt directly, the kid just placed it in front of me without looking up once. read more

So I went to get another key made for a vehicle. The guy ask me if I have the car here with me. When I told him no, the two guys behind the counter gave a look of disgust. The guy says I usually don't make keys when the vehicle isn't here, but I will this time if you promise me if the key doesn't fit you wont force it. Now I've had keys made numerous times over the years, never have I been treated like I'm some idiot . The one employee Irvin asked me if the key had a chip in it. When I told him no, he goes and ask the other old grouch, like he didn't believe me. Now I go to this Ace all the time, and have never had such piss poor service and attitude from the employees there as I did today! read more

I called the store to see if they could work on my Honda generator - was told to bring it in. Arrived at the store with the generator and placed it by the counter like the gentleman on the phone told me. Two other men walked up and they were called to check out without anyone ever acknowledging me. When they did help me, he told me they couldn't work on the generator. Did not offer to carry the generator to my car - just said No. I am recently widowed and trying to navigate these things I haven't had to take care and I did not care for them being complete creeps!! DO NOT ever send a parcel from their mail substation. I mailed a package on 2/9 first class priority and 3 weeks later it hasn't gotten to its destination (I paid for a guaranteed 3 day delivery and the tracking number isn't coming up). I called to inquire and they were extremely rude on the phone stating "it'll get there when it gets there". When I spoke to the store manager he was rude, condescending and smug and offered no help whatsoever. I asked if they would check the shelves as I thought the package never left and they said it wasn't their concern. You've been warned! read more

I have been using the Post Office at this Ace for a long time as I have a college student and a military son so we send packages very often. I was coming into the Post Office on 2/23/15 when the woman that wrote the bad review was there. I thought the manager and Post Office employees were very professional given the confrontational circumstances. The customer stated she had called and talked to a man on the phone but there has never been a man working at this Post Office. We have never had anything but wonderful experiences at this ACE and the Post Office inside it. The employees and managers have always been very knowledgeable and helpful. This ACE is terrific. Dropped by with a list of items, and 4 large window screens. Given the circumstances I needed the screens ASAP. Very thankful the the associate (Daniel) helped me get all four screens completed while I did my shopping. I have had employees offer to help me carry heavy purchases to my car on multiple occasions.
