HF Tools is another one of those places you need to be careful what u buy because what you buy is most likely going to break. This particular store, as others have said, there always seems to be a long line / someone having an issue and a lack of employees. Annoying. But I cant hate the store because once in awhile I walk out with a pretty good deal. I found out that every time you make a purchase here, they ask for your phone number, and they reenable your email subscriptions. So if you unsubscribe from HF marketing emails you'll just get them again when you shop here. One way to mitigate this is to just give them a wrong phone number email and name. They dont compare the name to your credit card, they are just more concerned with sending you SPAM. This is a shady practice and the answer to why I kept getting HF emails even though I unsubscribed. read more

My husband and I come here a lot because he is a mechanic and you can find a lot of what you need for a decent price. The location is very convenient for us as well. Only con is that depending on what you're buying, some of the items can have a tendency to be "cheaply" made. But, in general, it's a great store to shop at. read more

Bring yourself over here should there be a great sale that they host in the parking lot. This is the closest tool store in my hood so when i get waist deep in my truck or wife's car i can run here & pick up something to get me over the hump & out of the slump. Although i'm not pleased with some of the quality of tools here, as long as you're not doing demolition work you should be ok. & if you are, don't fret, you can do more than get by with most of the larger tools. Wrenches, sockets, drill bits and vice's i've had my trouble with. read more

My dad's favorite place. He lives over 30 min away from one and I live 5 min from one. I always get his birthday and Christmas presents here. I often go in with a newspaper ad or a list and find an employee and they find everything I need quickly and without any trouble. Manager, Tahesha, needs a course in customer service and/or material return procedures. Just waited in line over 20 minutes while she struggled with what should have been a simple customer return of a tool. It was exacerbated by her piss poor attitude, not calling for another register to be opened and lack of apology for the situation she created. If I handled customers in the manner when I was a manager, I would have been looking for another job. Should I return and she's on duty, I will make a second trip or go to an alternate store. read more

I owe them a thanks. Many years ago. On Christmas Eve, I was going to purchase a huge tool box for my husband. I thought my van is going to be big enough to get that tool box in. It wasn't. They checked that the delivery would be impossible to happen that day. And I was so frustrated since I want it to be my husband's Christmas gift. They saw me came with a newborn and a toddler. They just decided to do it on their own good will. Three or four associates in the store drove one truck with that tool box on the pallet. They drove that thing ten miles to my home and manually moved it in my garage and still keep on praising me as a good wife. They wished me merry Christmas and so sweet and left within ten minutes. I was still in shock when they left. Whole thing happened so fast. Houstonian really do rock. They bring the real Christmas spirit. And this store rocks. They have so many caring and helpful staff! Many years I have left Houston. But today when my husband is going to harbor freight in Indiana. I suddenly remembered this. I just decided to leave this review. And I want to let they know. This is a Great place to buy tools. They have everything. Even tools us ladies ues. ;) they have it all. From hammers to electric saws to a kitchen meat grinder! They also give really good coupons. I think my husband signed up for it threw their mailing list, because we get small catalogs with awsome coupons in it. The are even open untill like 8pm. I have used this location several times and the staff if super friendly and helpful. I will definitely continue to be a customer here. read more

Went in to buy a pressure washer, at $279. 00, not a super great deal, but I had a 25% off coupon for Mothers Day, they said that Predator Gas powered products do not apply, along with most other high priced items. First off my 'review' does not concern this peticular location, just Harbor Freight in general--as I have purchased in CA and TX. My recommendation is NOT to buy any power tools/air compressors/drills/welders, etc from them. Absolute garbage, cheap Chinese made crap that will break or not work. Do yourself a favor and spend a few bucks more on a name brand from Lowe's, Northern Tool, or Home Depot. Remember folks you get what you pay for. Yes the deals at HF are awesome because they are cheaply made junk. The one shinning star is that Harbor Freight's return policy is excellent....because they know you will be back to return the items/get a refund. read more

I mostly give negative reviews. and this one is mixed. HF are far cheaper than other hardware stores. To nonprofessionals like me, any difference in qualify will not be apparent, so I am happy with my purchases. Sears was my usual tool go-to place. I will return if I cam near one of Harbor Freight locations, and highly recommend a stroll for any guy who occasionally does something around the house--or more. Saw lots of pros there too, so their following is growing. One thing--Inn their paper catalog and online, they offered a 27-LED small utility flashlight, and I wanted to get a few. It was 2.99 as a special, but when I went to order, it was in-store only. So I travelled 40 min to and fro in heavy traffic only to find they had none in the store. I had to settle for a decidedly weaker light for a little more each. This shouldn't be, since that was what I went for in the first place, on their recommendation. read more

Harbor Freight is the place to go if you need reasonably built tools at incredibly inexpensive prices. You are not necessarily going to receive the most knowledgeable assistance in the store, so do your research beforehand, but given the significant discounts, this is not a surprise. I've had positive experiences with their private label products in the past, therefore HF is one of my favorite destinations for go if I need a stopgap tool (such as a heatgun) which wont get a ton of use, but I could never find at a big box retailer. read more
