From what I witnessed, there was favoritism, unfair treatment, and a very hostile work environment toward employees of color. One employee in particular was constantly singled out, picked on, and threatened with write-ups over small things while others were treated differently. What made the situation even worse was how management handled a family death. An employee was grieving the loss of his father and was reportedly threatened with disciplinary action for arriving late on the day of the funeral. Later, he was fired for being 10 minutes late even after giving advance notice ahead of time. That shows a serious lack of compassion and respect for employees. There were also repeated racist remarks and language in the workplace that made the environment uncomfortable and unacceptable. No employee should have to deal with discrimination or hostility while simply trying to do their job. I hope corporate takes these concerns seriously and works to create a more respectful and fair workplace for everyone.

My experience with McCoy's in Tomball has been disappointing. While there are a few good employees…read morewho genuinely try to help customers, the overall work environment I've seen does not reflect fair or respectful treatment of all staff. There seems to be a lack of consistency in how employees are treated, and it feels like some workers are not given the same respect or opportunities as others. The management style comes across as unprofessional at times and discouraging rather than supportive. For a company of this size, I expected better leadership and a more fair and respectful workplace culture. I hope corporate takes a serious look at how this location is being run.

I have had bad experiences with hardware stores as a woman lol. As soon as I walked into your store Jeremy greeted me with a huge smile and a friendly "Hello, how can I help you?" While I fished the screw / bolt thing from my pocket, another smiling face came to greet me (Valerie). I explained to them that I didn't know what the size or what it was called , but i did know that i needed 28 of them. Jeremy gave me a friendly smile and Valerie smiled and put her hand out & immediately said " Right this way." She was quick to help, kept the conversation light and was so friendly. Definitely gave me small town vibes and reminded me of home. I come from a small town where there are more cows than people. This was refreshing for Houston. My trip was quick and painless! Until I was almost finished with my project and realized I needed the same bolt/screw but slightly longer. So, I made the trip back to your store and as soon as I walked in, I got the same friendly service from another employee. Jeremy came from around the corner and recognized me and said, "Welcome back." I said yall were so nice i had to come twice LOL. He helped me get exactly what I needed, and Valerie saw me walking through the store and greeted me once again. These are small things but are so meaningful and set your business apart from The Home Depot / Lowe's etc. You have two great employees in Valerie & Jeremy. Please do something nice for them because when you have happy employees, they will make sure your customers are happy too. I will be visiting your store for all of my future hardware purchases. Thank you A lost & confused woman in a hardware store

We truly love supporting local small businesses whenever possible because, in our experience, small business owners are usually passionate about their work and provide outstanding customer service. Unfortunately, that was not our experience with Johnny's. In fact, it was quite the opposite. Honestly, I wish we had read the reviews before making our $20,000 purchase. The entire experience became an absolute nightmare. Without exaggeration, we dealt with: * 8 (YES, EIGHT!) no-shows -- meaning we planned entire days around their scheduled visits, only to receive no call, no text, no update, and no respect for our time. We always had to be the ones to reach out just to find out they were not coming. * 1 scheduled visit where they actually notified us they would not make it and needed to reschedule. Sad to say, that felt like a win considering the circumstances. * Countless unanswered calls and texts, along with at least 10 promises that were never fulfilled. * An improperly installed electrical component that could have become extremely dangerous. We ultimately had to recommend and involve our own licensed electrician to ensure the work was completed safely and correctly. * 4 missing pieces/items which were ultimately installed after a very long and painful process. * A complete disregard for the customer's time, money, and overall experience. Unfortunately, once payment was received, customer service and accountability seemed to disappear entirely. I will say the office staff were always kind and pleasant to deal with, but they also seemed powerless when it came to actually resolving the issues. I genuinely hope Johnny's can improve their communication, reliability, and customer service because those things matter just as much as the product itself.
