LONNNNG REVIEW, LONNNNG OVERDUE. First of all, I have to say that I should have written this review probably more than a year ago. I blame ADHD. The truth is, I absolutely LOVE Dr. Yar. He and his staff are all so very kind, gentle, have delightful senses of humor, and they were very quick to make me feel so comfortable in their care. Every appointment, even the painful ones, have had me leaving quite contentedly and in a great mood. Most importantly, Dr. Yar has transformed my smile in a way that I had only dreamed of, for years, and never ever thought possible. I was an extreme case to begin with. My family has a genetic condition that had plagued me and left me a depressed, and extremely self conscious about my smile for my entire life. I would hide my teeth in social settings, and photos, trying hard to ONLY give that closed-mouth Mona Lisa smile while everyone else smiled widely and openly. I worried what people thought when I had accidentally smiled too big, and my teeth were shown. When I laughed, I used to cover my mouth, just in case. It was so bad, that I was often bullied about my teeth. People can be so cruel, sometimes, ya know? There were also plenty of times that I had cried from the pain that my breaking teeth had caused throughout the years. It got so bad at times, I would often tell my loved ones that I would choose to go through childbirth again, rather than experiencing this pain. Before I met with Dr. Yar, I had been to another dentist that pulled all of my upper teeth and gave me a top denture. I was desperate for the pain to be relieved, and I had hoped that in the end, I would be able to smile again. Alas, the appliance I ended up receiving was horribly designed! The teeth were tiny, misshapen, and didn't even let me eat properly. I was told this was the best they could do for me, and I tried so hard to be thankful, to be happy just to not have my natural upper teeth causing me the pain issues anymore... but the confidence I had hoped to gain, never came. I didn't think I would have the chance to fix what had been done. I solemnly accepted my fate for years. Until the time came that I needed my (still natural) lower teeth to also be pulled, and get a bottom denture. Of course I was not going to go back to the previous dentist that had not been able to deliver the standard I needed, which lead me to search for someone to help me achieve what I really wanted all along. Dr. Yar designed a plan for me that changed everything. Yes, he took away the pain, but what I didn't expect was how happy I would be in the end. He gave me an "all on four" implant supported lower denture, and a completely new upper denture. Admittedly, It cost a lot of money, but I knew that this was highly important to me. Guess what? No more pain. No more fear of showing my smile. I say this without any bit of exaggeration: My life has been changed. I get compliments now, for the first time ever, about how beautiful my smile is. I don't shy away from laughing without covering my mouth. I eat without worrying that I am going to suddenly be in excruciating pain, and I can look in the mirror without hating to see my smile now. Thank you, Dr. Yar. Thank you for everything you've done for me. Thank you to all of your staff as well. I am so grateful to have been able to trust you. If I could have seen you before I went to that first dentist, I would have! TLDR: If you feel down about your dental health, the appearance of your smile, or you have been experiencing trouble with pain, THIS is your guy. I highly recommend that you see Dr. Yar. I have been a patient for around 2 years and the staff is good. My issue is with the dentist. There is no real communication with him. He says hi and how am I, goes over my x-rays, then just leaves. He doesn't tell me if I had any cavities or any of his findings. He just leaving to the next patient and has the dental assistant explain what the findings were. I have never had a dentist that didn't explain to me after the exam. It make me feel like I am not worth his time. Another incident, I went in to go get a filling and he stuck the needle in to numb me and it missed my whole gum completely and the liquid just leaked inside my mouth. It tasted gross. He came back later and I told him is it supposed to feel numb because it doesn't. I told him it must have leaked all in my mouth. The dental assistant had to explain to him what I was trying to say for whatever reason. I guess he wasn't paying attention so he had to re-numb me and never once apologize. So I am finding a new dentist that likes to converse with their patients. read more

Had to get a filling redone by another dentist who informed me there was still decay. He did an alright job on my wisdom teeth, but Yar came across as rude and generally unprofessional while I was treated. I'd personally avoid this place. read more

Another 2 teeth rotten under crown. The crow was made less than 2 years. They suggest extraction. But still refuse to compensate or remake the crown. read more

I went here multiple times in 2018 and 2019 and everything seemed fine. I really found out what they were doing after I moved and had to go to a new dentist. My next dentist said whoever you were going to drilled many unnecessary holes. For the sake of your dental health, don't go here. read more

This past week I had a temporary crown put in until my permanent one comes in two weeks. I can say for the first time in my life I had no problems afterwards. I went back to work the following day and enjoyed my weekend eating steak and cold drinks without any problems or cold tingling bothering me. I give the highest recommendation to the doctor and staff for always doing a good and painless job on my teeth. I honestly look forward to going to my dentist. At times I would dread going to the dentist and now I don't with Ace Dental.. Plus they accept all different types of insurance which makes my life easier! They always have different payment options. I have been coming here since and I can say that with many visits, I have never been disappointed. This dental office COMMITTED FRAUD by sending requests for approval of procedures WITHOUT my authorization! After visiting this office only one time, (the appointment ended with me walking out disgusted by the unsanitary conditions and Doctor Zah's horrible bedside manner), I was very surprised to later receive phone calls from them telling me I had been approved for 2 different procedures. I never asked them to do this and believed it was very clear that I had no intention of returning after that one time visit. However,It gets worse. My current dentist has sent in requests for procedures I am in dire need of but it's now clear why it's been over a month with no response-ACE dental blocked those approvals with their unauthorized actions! Because of them I now will have to start the wait all over while my current dentist resubmits it's requests. This dental office is running insurance SCAMS -stay away from it. . read more

I love this place!! It's convenient for us UCR students and I've been coming here since 2017. I've never had a problem here. The staff are super friendly, they pay a lot of attention to what you need and try to help you every way they can. I had several cavities and an implant done and it's still doing amazing. Very poor quality of work. Came in to get cleaning, cavity filled and a replacement retainer. Staff were very unprofessional and rough on my teeth. The doctor said I had 3-4 cavities that needed to be filled, HOWEVER I went to another dentist and he said there was NOTHING wrong with my teeth. What?? Is this even ethically okay to do? Ridiculous. Let me start by saying- I have a phobia of dentists. So, I really struggled in finding someplace where I felt comfortable in the space and with the staff. Plus, I have chronically bad teeth so when I went I needed several fillings done. Fast forward- now about a year since I started visiting this dentists' office. And now I recommend it to everyone. The staff is so kind and attentive. The assistant's are all very professional and every person I have had, whether they were just doing x-rays, a cleaning, a filling, or fitting me for a crown- has been absolutely amazing. They always know when/how to crack jokes that help put me at ease. My husband and I both go here for all of our dentistry needs, and we have had nothing but great things to say about them. It has been just over one year since I first visited Dr. Yar. Unfortunately, I was in need of some extensive work due to a long period of inattention on my part and some existing work that was substandard. Dr. Yar completed the work I needed and I am 110% satisfied with all the work that he did. His attention to detail is excellent, all procedures including an implant were painless. His staff is super nice and accommodating. Elizabeth even helped me wade through several insurance plans offered by my employer. Questionable hygiene practices. The assistant taking my x-rays touched the mouse and my mouth with the same gloves without swapping or putting a tissue over the mouse. The tools were laid out in open air instead of inside the package. Dentist rushed in without gloves and basically stuck a tool in my mouth and said I need deep cleansing for gingivitis before rushing to another patient. They estimated the cost $2,000 for deep cleansing and filling in 4 cavities. They were willing to cut it down to $1,200 since I'm a student, but it's still pricy.
