We enjoyed our lunch at Ace Basin. We stayed in Charleston but met family half way to Beaufort and I found this hidden gem. The staff was nice and helpful with the menu knowledge. The fried pickles were a huge hit. Everything tasted great and seasoned well! We would go back!

Blackened red fish, collards, grits

I saw a sign from the road saying they had collards today and I whipped into the parking lot! Lunch was fantastic! Blackened Red Fish with all the fixings! Fish was seasoned well and cooked tender. Collards were outstanding; just the right flavor of pork kissing the tender greens! Hush puppies were sweet and made for a little dessert moment at the end of eating! Highly recommend all I ate!

The food is delicious! A pricey place but it's the only place to eat in that area. I would recommend it in a pinch if you don't want to drive to Charleston.

A special thanks to Yelp for helping us find this local gem. It's obvious with the coming and going that this is a well loved local establishment with some in their jeans and some in their Sunday finest. Nothing fancy here-scuffed Formica topped tables, fishnet adorned walls, metal chairs, but very clean and full of seemingly happy customers. The fried shrimp and flounder basket hit the spot today! It comes with a cup of creamy coleslaw and a side of your choice - baked potato, grits, green beans or crinkle fries. My baked potato was perfectly cooked and everything was piping hot. Hubs enjoyed their fried oysters and shrimp. I must say the fried oyster I tried was delish! Service was so quick and efficient we were back on the road in no time!

Captain's Platter with hot sauce

I rarely try a place that deserves 5 stars across the board. People leaving were telling us how good it was as we parked and recommended the fish tacos. We were seated quickly and greeted by a server shortly after that. I ordered the 2 combo plate and my husband had the Captain's platter. Everything was hot and delicious. We really enjoyed the service and food. The servers treat you like family. We will definitely come again. Everyone was right this place is really a treat.

The food is good, portions are small, prices are a little high for what you get. But definitely worth trying for yourself. Great service

Marbled & Fin - Hot Seafood Tower...it was beyond amazing!

My Fiancée and I were celebrating our engagement and Marbled & Fin absolutely did not disappoint!…read moreChristian was very knowledgeable with menu items and some of my Fiancée's food intolerances. The staff were also amazing! Even if they weren't assigned to your table they still came by to make sure everything was spick and span! Thank you Marbled & Fin crew for such a memorable night!

Oh. My. Goodness…read more Marbled and Fin has secured a spot as one of my top CHS restaurants! A friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a girls dinner since she's out of state. Reservations were at 515 and we arrived about a half hour early. The hostess was an absolute doll. So sweet, personable, and helpful. She let us know they would seat us closer to our designated time but to help ourselves to a seat at the bar. Started with delicious cocktails with fun innuendos. Very strong. Lovely. The hostess came back later and escorted us to our seats - and the fun dinner service began. You receive a complimentary welcome cocktail table side - tonight was a peach gimlet. No notes! We decided to try a little of everything (thank you to our amazing waiter- he let us know serving sizes and suggesting splitting some appetizers). We had the scallops, Caesar and milk bread. I don't think there was a single morsel left on those plates. For dinner we had the wet aged ribeye with the bone marrow & salmon. Sides: steak fries, lobster Mac and cheese, creamed spinach, and asparagus. The steak fries were such a stand out. Wow. never would have thought but incredible! Dessert had to be the affogato & crème brulee. Everything was Devine. The restaurant is bright and airy and incredibly beautiful. We sat at the bar booths and there was a little blonde girl who was so on top of refilling our water that it became comical. She was such a doll! Cannot say enough about her Incredible restaurant- impeccable service. Needs to be on any CHS list!

We had the porterhouse and au gratin potatoes, a wedge salad, and clam chowder, plus desserts. Steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The potatoes were absolutely amazing- yum yum. We were seated in one of the dining rooms with moderate lighting and interesting but subtle decor. The perfect combination for a romantic evening with my wife. No phones, just conversation! Our server, Will, was well-versed on the special bar drinks available. We started with a Bee's Knees and an Old Fashioned. Both were very good. The appetizer's listed on the menu include one of our all-time favorites; escargot. The snails were well cooked, the butter was warm, and the bread served with it was wonderful. For our entrees, we ordered the filet with blue cheese crumbles along with the Cowboy Ribeye. Both steaks were well-cooked....as ordered! The filet was medium rare and the ribeye was medium. The seasoning on both steaks was perfect. The right combination of salt and pepper such that both steaks disappeared. Really good tasting beef. What you hope for in a steak house. We had a side of mushrooms with our steaks. Will said that a half order would be plenty and he was right. We ordered a bottle of St Supery Eli (a red blend) and it was great with beef. For dessert, we ordered the carrot cake. It was delicious, not too sweet....and an enormous piece. There was more than enough for two people. We had the leftovers for breakfast the next day. If you are looking for a great steak AND a great dining experience on Hilton Head, we highly recommend Bowdie's!

I got the tuna tartare to start, which was very fresh with the right touch of acidity. The tomahawk was cooked to a perfect medium rare with a nice red wine sauce (you can skip this if you want), and the flavor and seasoning was on point. The lobster Mac was creamy and had the right amount of lobster, the loaded mash potatoes were textbook, and the Brussels sprouts were the best I've ever had. Overall such a fantastic meal and experience, and I would definitely come back for a special occasion. 4.8/5

Halls Chophouse absolutely delivered a fantastic night out…read more We started with the Halls Chop Salad and it was incredible--both the flavors and the presentation were spot on. You can tell they really pay attention to the details. For dinner, we ordered the 8 oz filet and the mushroom risotto. The filet was cooked perfectly (medium rare just as we requested) and was everything you want in a great steak. The mushroom risotto was delicious and full of flavor, but for me (wife), it was just a bit too salty. My husband agreed. Next time, I would definitely ask for less salt because the dish itself was excellent otherwise. We skipped dessert, but honestly didn't feel like we were missing anything after such a great meal. The live music was amazing and really elevated the entire experience. The crowd and vibe were just as good--some people dressed to the nines, while others were in shorts, flip flops, and t-shirts with ball caps. It was a fun mix and made the whole place feel welcoming and energetic. Overall, an awesome experience and a spot we'd absolutely come back to.
