One of the modifications was the installation of an external oil cooler, which is always a good idea, but I think they also installed what hot-rodders call a "shift kit". I wish they hadn't done this. It shifts very hard, particularly 2-3 and 3-4. I'll bet that this thing lasts the 25k warranty, but my motor mounts and CV joints probably won't :( If you use this shop, ask about the pros and cons of any potential modifications they will be performing.

She wanted to know why the car was making a terrible sound. She dropped it off the night before and didn't hear a word from him until it was time to pick up. Upon arriving, David said "I can't do anything, take it to a dealer and it's $140 because we hooked it up to a scanner" - He never called to ask if this was okay and explain to this NOVICE customer if she was willing and able to pay $140 for the evaluation. He also made her wait in the lobby for 25 minutes prior to giving her the fabulous news! Incredibly disappointing! We will never be back and will share our experience far and wide! :( No wonder why women are afraid to take their cars to mechanics!

During Covid, I brought my vehicle in for an oil change. My car has keyless entry and whoever left…read moremy car in the parking lot had the keyless entry too close to the car, and when I went to pick it up after hours, someone had rummage through my glove compartment and pulled out the glove compartment completely. Fitzway said they would fix it with no charge. When they supposedly fixed it, they did not replace the broken hydraulic arm that opens and closes the glove compartment. They left it with one arm, which worked for a while. They never told me to come back when the part came in for the arm. They just said they fixed it. Now my glove compartment is sitting on my car floor. This is how I found out that they never replaced the hydraulic arm.

The issued was with the squeaking sound from belt tensioner a belt tensioner which has replaced myself . These wonderful folks updated my carfax records stating that they fixed all the motor /transmission mounts where none of this was done !!! The estimate to change the transmission fluid was ridiculous I wonder whether they use unicorn blood in lieu of atf which might explain the wonderful estimate

Job that would have kept my car in a shop all day, they did in 3hrs. and for about 1/3 of the price the dealer would have charged me. Just the way they talk(anyone who works there), you understand immediately that they know what they are doing. Oil change, air filters, all belts and pulleys plus a light bulb in left headlight. Amazing is also that they had all parts in stock. Btw Sharret Automotive told me they can't do the belts and pulleys because the car is too complicated. Do not let the looks of their building mislead you, these guys are masterminds. Highly recommend this place. Going back there next week for some more maintenance.

I have brought several cars to the guys at East Side and they have never let me down. They diagnose issues quickly and have the car ready even faster. Amazing that the lot is completely full on Monday morning and just about cleared out by Thursday. They give you an idea what the fix may cost up front and are pretty darn close to the actual bill total when the job is done. Having a trustworthy garage close to where you live is critical, and I recommend East Side any chance I get. Surprised that they haven't had to move locations so they can work on more cars in more bays. Give em a try if you're looking- you won't be disappointed! Steve C.

I want to love Ken's. But my experiences are like dealing with two different companies . On one…read moreday they are beyond excellent and cannot do enough to satisfy the customer. And to boot, they do work that no one else would touch. For me, that included a complete rebuild of my 2006 transmission in 2024 in their shop. Yes it was costly but it was not a remanufactured tranny and extended the life of my car. If the engine goes, I'll likely return for an engine rebuild rather than a remanufactured engine. On another day, some basic work that should be simple and easy they seem capable of completely missing the mark. Couple this with their reliance on Metro Motor.com and their BG maintenance recommendations and you have what feels like a very hard sell to get your money. The BG recommendations are like a laundry list of what you MIGHT do to your auto if you had unlimited funds and just wanted to spend freely. There seems to be no rnyme or reason to the recommendations either in milage or elapased time. Don't get me wrong. I don't mind paying premiusm prices (which Ken's is) for premium work. That's the issue. I feel like it's sometimes worth it and other times not. I've reached the consclusion that they will get my more difficult jobs but routine maintenance will be handled elsewhere. I wonder if over time they have changed ownership or have new sales incentives in place. It's a shame. I really want them to be like The Car Talk guys from Boston and only do what's right.
