A+ Auto Works (Kevin) did a home service call to replace my alternator (and recharged my dead battery for free, and checked to make sure it was healthy and holding the charge). He was prompt to respond, courteous, and transparent. He consulted first and explained the information that was "told" to me but not explained to me by others. It did not feel like he was "selling" himself as much as just offering professional advice, a rarity now-a-days. He gave me multiple options for part prices to choose from, from OEM new to refurbished/rebuilt parts, allowed me to choose whichever of those parts I wanted to pay for, and then ordered/collected the part AND completed the service within 24 hours. He showed me the cost/receipt of the part from the manufacturer/vendor and his bill was presented beforehand itemized separately and thoroughly (with careful review and questions answered). Again, I repeat, everything was up front and very transparent, and he even declared all possible "up charges" that might possibly be discovered during the work process and listed those things in the bill (none of those additional charges happened, btw, but he forewarned thoroughly and explained). He did not try to sell me on any other services/fixes/parts. Most important of all, he did all of this at my home for a total cost that was equal or cheaper than the price quoted from 5-6 other nearby mechanics shops, which would have also cost me a tow to their site on top of that. Kevin is clearly an experienced professional from the rural/country area (and all the good morals and work ethics that come from being reared in those areas). The service itself was as high quality and professional as any shop, but with the charm and comfort and consideration of a "good ole country boy." I would recommend him to anyone for any repair needs, small or large, or at least to consult for a second opinion to make sure you're not getting ripped off somewhere else. If something ever was too big/complicated for him to handle, I have no doubt he'd be honest and up front about that and steer you right in finding the best alternative solution (though I believe he could handle just about any problem). (BTW, it was a week+ after the work before I wrote this review and not a single problem/symptom/red flag. At home Service for a car that wouldn't start. Kevin was the third call I made and the only one who I got ahold of on the Sunday after the 4th of July. I cant say enough good things about this man. On the phone he walked me through the symptoms to make sure what I was describing was accurate. He gave me all the part options and explained everything in detail and once we were ready to move forward he had the auto parts store contact me for payment. He was in constant contact with me while he was finishing another job. I was a same day request and at least his 3rd job of the day. He came gave me a written quote and got to work installing a new alternator. Once he was done we found the alternator had also destroyed my battery so he ran off and got a new one in the same manor. He got everything replaced and the car is running great. He has a customer for life and I would highly recommend him for those populations that are elderly or in college that need an honest mechanic that will fix what is needed at a fair and honest price. I took my car into the local spot just get some insight on a P0455 code that I identified with my FIXD tool. I thought it would be simple for the local shop to fix before inspection. The shop quoted almost $700 after my having spent a little over $900 earlier this month relating to that same P0455 code. "Lucky" for me, the car started hesitating, dash lights flashing, and difficulty steering, so I was afraid to drive and didn't want to call a tow just to get it to the shop. Convinced I'd have to get a new car, I found Kevin's paperwork in the glove box from 2023 and gave him a call. Kevin came over and asked detailed questions about what I experienced...he told me what he thought might be going on and that it may not be as bad as I thought. I recommend him he is polite makes sure that he can get to you in a good manner. I had him come look at my 2004 Volkswagen Golf GL Manual Hatchback. He helped me find a couple of problems on why my car wasn't running as it should. He did my spark plugs, rotor, breaks, slave and master cylinder.I tried calling other auto repairs and they was asking almost 2,000 for all that and he worker with me to have a good deal..It was a Good Little chunk of change but he got it running 10 times better than before I am very grateful for A+ Auto Works By Kevin M look forward to you fixing my car in the future. read more

Kevin performed a timing chain and Camshaft adjustment on my dodge grand caravan at my home and it is now running like new. Kevin and his technician provided me with excellent feedback and information during the repair service. they were very helpful and flexible regarding suggested repairs on items that might need replacing. I had some coils and plugs that were old and decided to replace them since the labor was already include, I bought the parts and Kevin installed them.
