In mid November of 2025, I took my laptop in for repair because it wouldn't boot up and I needed it…read morefor my upcoming finals. It took about less than a week to get it back, but they said it had a faulty NVME so I needed to pay nearly $300 for a replacement. They also verbally said Windows couldn't load but the paper they gave back clearly stated it did boot. But by the time I took it home, I tested it out myself. I inserted the "so called faulty NVME" and my laptop DID boot up. I thought I still had a battery issue because it would only boot up while it was charging. I then saw they disconnected the thin wire to the battery which directed current from the power supply. They never plugged it back in. After finding that out, I did my own diagnostics and couldn't see any issues with my NVME. I used the Windows Powershell terminal to check on the NVME's health and there were no issues what so ever. I went back to ask what exactly the issue was and what actually got my laptop to turn on, because clearly it wasn't the NVME. The man got mad and wanted me to take down any review with the return of the $100, but I refused. I will never know what they did to get my laptop to turn on again, but I do know they scammed me into believing my OS couldn't boot and I needed their NVME replacement for $300... Usually NVMEs fail early on when getting a new laptop (infant mortality rate of 3-6 months) and I've had this laptop for many years now. NVMEs don't even have anything to do with the battery so this tipped me off. They used simple NVME health tools which I replicated (they mentioned CrystalDiskInfo) and saw NOTHING wrong. They either don't know what they're doing/talking about or they're intentionally scamming. Get your laptop issues fixed else where and save your money. They are not transparent and will create issues rather than fix it. Glad they turned on my laptop at least. That's all I needed. Do your own research as well and understand what EXACTLY they're telling you.

Honest, Skilled, and Affordable Highly Recommend Manny!…read more Manny is fantastic fast, patient, and incredibly helpful. I spent two weeks going back and forth, shopping around, and getting diagnostics from big-name shops and local repair places. While many were friendly and offered free diagnostics, the larger chains quoted prices that were nearly the cost of buying a new laptop altogether. My MSI GE76 Raider had a completely detached screen and a failing battery. Manny not only handled the full repair but did so within my budget, even going above and beyond to help. He used OEM parts no shortcuts or cheap knockoffs and the quality of the repair speaks for itself. Don't expect a glitzy storefront; the work is done right out of his garage workshop but honestly, that's all you need if you want a reliable repair without paying an arm and a leg. Manny delivers high-quality service, fair pricing, and real care in his work. Give him a shot--you'll be glad you did.

Reached out to Manny and he was able to order a new battery, installed back into my MacBook and now it's working great. Now I'm able to hold a charge for 7+ hours and love being able to see that 100% battery charge again. Really happy with the work, quick communication and the price. I would recommend his repair service if you have any type of computer issues.

Quick research stated the drive head was destroyed. Scouring the web landed us with Secure Data Recovery. Alec Sakenes, great guy, was knowledgeable, quick and supportive throughout the recovery process. They had a drop point at Basscom Towers, they overnighted the drive for free. Diagnosis came back with Yes they can recover, but it will need clean room action. The price brought a tear to my eye, called up Alec and hoped he could help out. He was a champion, he spoke to the manager and dropped the price to a little less than a buck a gig! whew! 5 years worth of priceless photos and vid's were on their way back in under three weeks. I am now investing in a 5 drive RAID array. Thanks Alec for all the detailed info and help. You guys are awesome! PS: Sorry Alec for the delay in posting this.

I reached out to Seagate, the manufacture of the drive, and they have quoted me an recovery price, however, with a mandatory $100 assessment fee either if the drive is recoverable or not. I found the fee absurd and looked for a better service else where and found SECURER DATA RECOVERY. The agent I talked on the phone was really informative and took me through the process with ease. Luckily, they were able to diagnose the drive with read error issue and had to transfer all data in a clean room environment. I got the drive back in no time and 99% of my data was recovered at a reasonable price. Thanks SDR for helping me get back my lifetime memories! Maybe I should consider cloud storage or back-up storage to prevent this from happening again :)

Next thing I know, I got a call about recovery data from my hard drive for $1000! On top of that, I got chared a $45 diagnostic fee. Are you kidding me?! So I went back there to grab my stuff, and decided to see if they can lower the price. I started to talk to the owner (chinese guy named Brian or Ryan) about my problem. He was a slick talker (must of been a salesman) and started going on and on about scratching noises. Of course, not knowing anything about computers, I said yes. The data recovery took over 2 weeks and I got nothing! I took matters into my own hands and did some research online. I went and bought a SATA to USB drive. I plugged the hard drive to the SATA to USB drive, plugged the USB to my computer, and made it my secondary drive. All my data showed up! My recommendation: if all else fails and you have to go there, watch out for the owner Brian or Ryan. Don't let him fool you into purchasing over priced services you don't need. Watch them diagnose your hard drive first before you make any final decisions. I GOT RIPPED OFF!!! These are their prices. It is better to make inform decisions than get ripped off! http://www.nodata-nocharge.com/DataRecovery_PricingGuide.asp?submenu=1
