One of the many things that separates Scott Jones tile from others, is his prompt replies and honest communication. He ALWAYS got back to us between his busy work schedule. There were no surprises between booking and the actual job getting completed. Pricing was as stated, and if we had questions, he was there to answer them. I had contacted several tile contractors, and Scott was also competitive, yet reasonable with pricing. When work began, Scott, Lucio and Avery (the dynamic trio) were on time, prepared, organized and ready to get it done! Lucio laid the tile and his work is SOOOO detailed and pristine. Avery and Scott were his right hand men and together the bathrooms look like PERFECTION! They also didn't start and then leave our job to go work somewhere else, which we really appreciated. Each bathroom took about one week. On top of this, Lucio, Avery and Scott are just all around nice guys and VERY trustworthy. Did I mention they were clean!? I searched 3-4 stores for the best price on the tile for my home project. After looking at some…read morestores that inflated prices for their "showroom" or could't be bothered with helping me, I did my business with Louis. My tile came in before scheduled, I recieved my 2' x 2' tiles with no damages, and I got a fair price. Also, when we saw we had ordered a box or two short and the tile was coming from back east and had to be shipped, Louis got on it right away and made sure we had enough to finish the job with little to no lag time. Everytime a dealt with Louis, he was extemely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly! I WILL be going there to get tile for my next project even thoughit is a 35-40 minute drive for me. And......just for the record, I DO NOT do reviews until the job is completely finished.

So our decision to have Craig and his crew do our current project was easy. We knew it would be done to our satisfaction and it turned out absolutely over the top beautiful. From the tear out to the finishing touches everything was done very professionally. We had a designer help us with the layout for the master bathroom. We had a plan, but Craig suggested some functional changes in the design; some things that designers sometimes don't consider which contributed to the final layout. We went with the changes that Craig suggested in the tile layout as he obviously had the experience and knew what he was talking about. He explained everything he did and listened to any concerns we had and answered all our questions. My wife and I are perfectionists and in the end the craftsmanship of Craig and his crew exceeded our expectations. A month later we had Gonzales Tile do our guest bathroom! And that came out equally as beautiful as the master bath. When it comes to choosing a tile contractor you don't want to cut corners. A good one is half tile setter and half artist. I highly recommend Gonzales Tile for your tile project.

Extremely poor customer service -- local customers deserve better…read more I reached out to Direct Flooring Outlet after seeing the reviews and wanted to get a local quote after finding the flooring I was looking for online. I used their website to request a free quote and was contacted by Dan Versman, the owner's son. Dan initially told me they would likely be able to match the price I had found and that he would put together a quote. What followed was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've had in a very long time. I received several one-sentence emails from Dan asking questions that I had already answered in my original email. Rather than continuing this back-and-forth, I simply asked if we could have a quick phone call to discuss it. No response. I then called the main office. The woman who answered gave me Dan's phone number and specifically told me to text him and that he would get right back to me. He never did. Not once. I waited until the following week, giving them plenty of time and being more than patient. Later that afternoon, I sent another email and called again. Eventually, at the end of the day, I received a response saying: "This isn't worth it for us, we're going to pass." That's it. I have worked in customer service for over 25 years, and this was honestly one of the worst experiences I've had dealing with a company. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I was a local customer trying to purchase a substantial amount of flooring and simply wanted a quote and a conversation about pricing. What makes it worse is that I called the main office afterward specifically to explain my experience. I was told that Lou Versman would be informed and would call me back. He never called. At some point, businesses need to be accountable for the level of service they provide. If you say you're going to call someone back, call them back. If you say you're going to provide a quote, follow through. If you don't want the business, that's fine -- just communicate that professionally and promptly. Your website has a commercial talking about the level of service you provide to local customers. Based on my experience, that message does not match the reality of dealing with your company. I ended up having to order the flooring from over the hill, which was a major inconvenience, simply because a local company couldn't be bothered to follow through with a basic customer inquiry. And Dan Versman's lack of communication, respect, and professionalism was obvious throughout this entire experience. The lack of care and respect shown toward a potential customer speaks volumes about how seriously he takes the people who are trying to give his business their money. And Dan -- giving your own company a 5-star review and then the company responding to that review looks pretty crooked from a customer's perspective. At the very least, it raises some serious questions about the credibility of the reviews on this business. SMH. If you're looking for flooring, go somewhere else. There are companies that will actually communicate with you, follow through, and treat you with basic respect.
