From start to finish, the entire team was reliable, on time, and within budget--something truly rare in construction. The management team, Jeff, Vitt and Justin, were fantastic partners throughout the process. Their architect, Valerie took all of our ideas and turned them into a design that exceeded our expectations, creating the dream home we hoped for. They guided us through key decisions, from fixtures to finishes, and connected us with excellent local suppliers like Mission Tiles in Soquel. They utilized Oxford Cabinets, who created an amazing custom kitchen and dry bar for us that perfectly complements our open-plan dining, kitchen, and living area. Their craftsmanship truly elevated the space. We couldn't be happier with the final result and highly recommend this team to anyone considering a custom home.

Jeff visited us for a sunroom project, he said he could do it but he recommended instead another company that specializes in sunrooms and would be much cheaper. A few months later, when we decided to remodel our master bathroom, we called Jeff because he had earned our trust. Everyone delivered stellar service and top quality work and on time! Justin, the foreman is as precise as a Swiss clock. He kept me informed about everything without me worrying about anything. If I texted him a question, he would respond immediately. Vit is a genius, he can walk around and juggle the numbers in his sleep, he made some awesome recommendations when we were not sure, he is incredibly knowledgeable. Jose is strong enough to demolish your bathroom, but he can build a beautiful new one and always with a smile. Chris is quiet but he is obsessed with precision and let me tell you, that is ok with me. Raoul is the Da Vinci of the group, he does the electrical, the plumbing and can tackle anything, his talent is impressive. All the subcontractors were polite, on time, respectful and efficient, this is why you pay Costa Bella to do the work, they provide top notch workers and they deliver! I can't believe what I am about to say: They were all like family and they will be missed!

Avalon Structural - Avalon uses its excavator to install deep foundations through thick liquefiable layers of soil.

Avalon Structural is a truly professional organization across the board - front office, inspectors,…read moreengineers, and on-site repair staff. If you have a foundation crack, save yourself the time and trouble and call Avalon Structural first. I got multiple estimates for my fairly extensive ~23' horizontal crack. I found there are three types of companies. The first type will do the minimum to chip out the rusted rebar, throw some fresh rebar in there, patch it up with a "band-aid", and charge you handsomely for a quick in-and-out job. The second will glance at your foundation and immediately tell you it has to be replaced, for an even more handsome price, of course. And then there is Avalon Structural. They will perform a comprehensive and highly structurally sound repair, removing all compromised material, charge a fair price, and stand behind their work with a strong warranty. If you visit their website, read the articles, and watch the videos explaining the right and wrong ways to perform foundation repairs, you will be well-equipped to choose the right company for your foundation job. Or, you can save the time and just call them. We couldn't be happier with our repair. The foundation looks great and feathers in perfectly with the undamaged foundation sections. The repair team was amazing and extremely respectful of our property. The city inspector signed off with zero issues, which speaks volumes about the quality of their work. A big thank you to Roger, MJ, and the entire Avalon Structural team!

Instead of explaining their approach constructively, they criticized other bids and ended the conversation abruptly. I'd recommend getting multiple opinions and relying on an independent structural engineer rather than taking any one contractor's claims at face value.

We were told a long time ago that a bad recommendation could hurt you and a good one was kind of neutral so we take great care when we recommend other contractors to clients and I can say for many many years Talmadge Construction is always at the top of the list of contractors and companies that we recommend. We want to stay in this home until carried out "feet first". We searched for a local construction team that had knowledge and experience in ADA guidelines, as well as a track record for good design and customer service. The team needed to have a designer with these attributes, as well. In the past I had overseen the remodel of a bath, choosing and scheduling contractors myself. I did not want to do that again! Talmadge was an easy choice. Jeremiah Trask was our project manager and a delight to work with. Our designer, Kristen Totah, was the best (and I used to manage a design studio). She asked the right questions, and nailed it. Everything she brought for approval was perfect, and just as I requested. Jeremiah kept the subcontractors flowing on schedule. We hit one snag with a defective plumbing part that took a while to diagnose and even longer for the manufacturer to admit to it and send a replacement, but Jeremiah and the supplier kept at it until it was resolved. The bathroom now has multiple, attractive grab bars (I requested that even the towel bars be ADA grab bars), a large shower rather than a tub/shower, a custom vanity and new low-flow toilet. You can find a less expensive contractor, but not a better one. You get what you pay for. They worked long hours to put us out of our misery and leave our downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms looking (and smelling) like new . When it came time to fix our leaking roof terrace, I of course called Joe, and he did a great job. His prices are reasonable, and I intend to use him for all our future construction work. Hopefully it won't involve another sewage flood.

The first was to rescue us from a half-finished bathroom remodel where the original contractor abandoned the project half way through. We could find no other contractor that would touch the project, because you never know the quality of the work already done, and you are kind of assuming responsibility for it. Joe stepped in, fixed some things the previous contractor had screwed up, and finished the bathroom just in time for us to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with the family visiting. The second time was similar. We had a water line break and it damaged the entire bathroom in the master bedroom. We were displaced from our bedroom and the house was hazardous. Joe was already booked with other projects, but was able to rearrange some of his staff and was able to start fixing the house that very day. Three weeks later, we had a beautiful bathroom. We hadn't anticipated doing another bathroom remodel, and certainly hadn't budgeted for it. Joe's price was very fair, considering the emergency nature of the project and the fact that he had to have people on overtime to help complete the job. I highly recommend JM Construction. They are life savers.
