Len and his team did a complete remodel of my Kitchen in Rio del Mar. This included removing all cabs, plumbing, floor, drywall right down to the studs, in other words it was completely gutted. I choose Alder wood custom cabs from Schmidt of Watsonville, tile floor, quartz counter, subway tiles, sil- granite sink and added a gas line. Len and I met at several stores to check out tile, cabs and counter material which was very useful. It took 6+ weeks which was expected and why I choose to be out of town when most of the work was done. It was started right on time just as I requested several months earlier. I was able to keep an eye on the project with a drop cam. It was fun to see the progress every evening wherever I was. Len was creative with the design and came up with a few key enhancements primarily the cabinets. I was planning to use manufactured cabinets but when I saw the quality of Schmidt cabs and reasonable price I went for it. Im very happy I did. Also, I have a garden window ( the only thing left from original kitchen) and the base shelf was ordinary material that showed it age. Since there was extra quartz material left over from counter he proposed adding it to the garden window and it really improved it. I met several members of his team and they all were courteous and efficient in their work. read more

Len and his crew of Matt, Hector, Ramon and Thad did an outstanding job of building our new deck. They started it in early January and finished in mid-March. Working conditions were difficult to say the least. We live on a steep hill, and a few days after work commenced, it began to rain. It rained off and on thru the duration of the project. The crew didn't miss a beat due to the weather. The craftsmanship in the entire project was excellent. Matt, the crew chief, set a very high standard throughout the project, from initial layout to laser-leveling the posts for the cable railing system. He even added additional structural elements to provide greater stiffness. We contacted at least eight contractors before selecting Seacliff. When I first talked with Len, he recommended that a structural engineer do the design as the deck is over 20 feet off the ground in some places. We went with his recommendation of Blake and Kim Carpenter, and were very pleased with their design. After settling on the design, we met with Len, and he provided recommendations on materials. On his advice, we chose an enhanced Trex product for the deck surface. We couldn't be more pleased with the final result. One of the main reasons we chose Len is the transparency he provides in his cost accounting. It is very detailed and reassuring to review. There were absolutely no surprises, and the final tally come in below his original estimate. This deck was a major construction project for a residence. Two, old, cantilevered decks had to be removed, and an entirely new structural design had to be incorporated. We are really enjoying our new deck, and will definitely use Seacliff Construction for any new projects. read more

We spent more than a year interviewing contractors for a full kitchen and living space remodel on our home - and throughout the process we were glad we went with Seacliff Construction. Len was entirely transparent with his price quote (some wouldn't provide itemized estimates until we signed a contract), and provided regular, itemized billing - including labor and materials. They estimated 12 weeks for completion - and they finshed right on time and right on budget thanks to Danielle's terrific project management (in fact, she also kept us on schedule with decisions like counters, cabinets and finishes as well). Speaking of, Len spent a full day with us visiting design centers to help coordinate our finishes - it was incredibly helpful. Unlike others, Len was also willing to offer guidance when asked (always couched with 'well, if I was doing this,' or 'I have seen others...'), but always followed our direction. The quality of their craftsmanship was top-notch, and the work crew was entirely professional and courteous. One thing we didn't realize was a benefit with Seacliff - the crew are are local employees, not contractors. Because of that, there were no work slowdowns or 'no shows.' For the 12 week job, there were maybe two days (Christmas and New Year's) in which someone wasn't in the house working. We could not be more pleased with our result, and with the work done by Seacliff. read more

I had major water damage that had been happening for years, unknown to me. Hence, there was no way for Len to give me a close estimate because the extent of the damage was unknown. So the final bill was perfectly reasonable. The completed job was excellent. Len steered me in all the right directions, ie Sierra Pacific Windows, little decisons about this or that. We just completed a major remodel involving every room in our house, inside and out, as well as the exterior hard scape. My thoughts on the project were vague, except for the structural renderings done by my architect. My wife and I will retire in this house and I wanted to be an active participant in its design and finish work. Fortunately, Lennox Smith is an expert both in design as well as construction.
