I hired Chuck last fall to work on two projects that were too big for most handyman services but too small to be of any interest to general contractors in town. Chuck and team did an excellent job on both projects and I am completely satisfied with the results. The first project was replacing a dozen or so boards of vertical cedar siding that showed signs of dry rot. Chuck and I agreed that I would source the boards from Big Creek Lumber - custom milled since this kind of siding is no longer made. Then Chuck and team did an outstanding job of removing the rotted boards and installing the new boards. The second project was to completely replace the wood cap on the stucco wall surrounding my front porch. Again, I sourced the lumber. Chuck had it planed to shape (slight ridged slope for water drainage) and then installed on the wall together with new finish trim. It was not an easy installation and Chuck and team did a GREAT job. It looks as good as the original and, more importantly, they carefully fitted and sealed the corner junctions - which will prevent the wood rot that destroyed the original cap after just 10 years. The cost of these two projects was quite reasonable. Chuck charges by the labor hour. And Chuck and his team worked as quickly and as efficiently as one could expect. We used Chuck to create and build us two exterior gates. I had some pictures of what I liked, they weren't exactly basic, as I wanted curved tops and a little window in one of them. Chuck did a beautiful job creating and installing them. And when we had a slight issue during our first wet season he came out and fixed it, no problem. Chuck also rebuilt a fence between us and our neighbors. He had a good idea on how to save some money in materials by reusing a few good boards and orienting it so that the boards didn't overlap, but both sides had a finished looking fence. Mid to late last year when we purchased our home we knew we wanted someone with a "can do" attitude to help us remodel our previously carpeted (blegh) 2.5 bathrooms. Chuck was eager and willing to get started right away with our project tearing it all down to the studs and starting over. While we had a pretty specific vision for design, his team was knowledgeable and gave great advice on some pretty tough and strange instances where the usual would not work. We are very happy with the finished result and while major renovation on a home during a pandemic is never a "fun" experience Chuck was excellent to work with and made it relatively easy. I was happy to see such good reviews here so I reached out to get an estimate on one of several jobs I have going on with my home refresh. Chucks online form requires you put in a budget for the work you want done. I find this odd as I am not an expert in this type of business and don't know how to provide an estimate for the work I need done. Since the form said "required field" I wrote $2,000ish to remove old cabinets fix any drywall issues and assemble and install 6 IKEA cabinets. Chuck replied that that was not a realistic amount and I gave him "red flags " for setting a budget before he looked at the job. No s**t and what the...? Hope my experience was a one off and life is wonderful for Chuck and his business but I'm shaking my head. At least he responded! He gets a gold star for that! read more

Very disappointed with his work. I had a large mirror that I wanted to be placed at a specific spot on a wall. He had to redo it three times and still did not do it right. First time it was too low, second time the fixture was visible behind the mirror. He also completely ruined the wall while placing curtain rods. Even though he promised to come back and paint it over, he never showed up. I texted him about it weeks later and he asked to pay for the paint! Stay away. read more

Requested a quote to dog proof my backyard. He told me it was only $20 cheaper to build a gate rather then repair 1 board. Really? I didn't even try to negotiate. I agreed to his quote of $1000.00 and he told me. He would take job in 2weeks. Fast forward 2 weeks. I get a text. This is it. My schedule is too busy to take on your project. I hired Chuck for a somewhat large project, tearing out two wall to wall closets and installing built in closet units. One required a wall to be torn out as well. I needed more storage space in my home and this was the solution. He also needed to do some custom work arounds as the closet space had some weird angles and he was able to solve those issues. Chuck always showed up on time and worked efficiently. He also recommended the services of the electrician that works with him when I needed some electrical work done.
