Rather than detailing each issue (which the company would likely try to excuse, as they did every time I raised concerns), I'm posting pictures so you can judge for yourself. I strongly recommend getting everything in writing--many verbal guarantees I received were completely disregarded. For example, instead of floor units in my kids' bedrooms, I was given ceiling units, one of which is positioned so low it practically touches my son while he sleeps. Now, as I'm finishing my basement, I had a friend who works in HVAC assess the mess Earth Tech left behind. He estimated it would take 3-4 days and cost around $3,000 to fix. He also explained the risks associated with their work: pipes joined in the middle are prone to future leaks, especially when unsupported, as stress on the joints increases the likelihood of failure. With so many joints, locating a leak would be nearly impossible. Shockingly, much of the system is held together with duct tape. While this may last through their warranty period, it's clear the entire system was designed to last just long enough to shift the responsibility of repairs onto the customer.

Clarification was further provided that the technician would charge for the hours that they worked for (Initial Estimate was ~5hrs work). Once the work was completed, the back office sent an office for the amount for the whole estimated time even though it took less than half the time (~1.5hrs). When the invoice was received it was a shocker since based on the communication prior to the work it was agreed to be per hour basis. After refutation, the invoice was revised to a lower number but still did not reflect the hours the technician worked. Its been a struggle to ensure alignment - I would not recommend them for any work!

When hardware was available, I received a friendly e-mail for possible scheduling dates. Eric arrived right on time and got right to the job. He used drop clothes to protect floor and counters, cut away bath tiles to access old piping, ran new water feeds to a new, single handle control valve. Installed matching spout, drain, shower and matching decorative trim plate to cover the new control valve. At the end, Eric checked the valve scald setting to endure safety of the new water output. We were shown what he was doing as the project progressed, and he cleaned up all trash to our satisfaction at the end. Eric was here about 5 hours and was totally professional and friendly throughout. We are totally satisfied. Laamco has maintained our old HVAC system for decades, and recently installed a replacement system. They have installed a new water heater as well. We are completely satisfied with the technicians, plumbers and staff at Laamco. We highly recommend them for any heating, cooling or plumbing service or maintenance.
