Was driving down Amherst Street and one of the drivers Cut me off and was very close to hitting my car so I gave him a beep and flipped me off and then then he proceeded to swerve at me from the left lane as he was pulling into Home Depot. Shaun, Shaun and Tom came to install a fresh air system (ERV) today plus a filter unit so we can access the filter easily. Forgive me if I spelled names incorrectly. Knowledge, care, brain power plus professional craftsmen is how I would describe today's install start to finish. They were courteous and pleasant while in our home. All I can say is, get a second opinion!!! Our furnace stopped working and we had a tech from here come take a look. The ignitor was bad and he replaced that. While doing so he noticed that our heat exchanger was bad. He panicked and said he might have to turn it off and tag it. He called the boss and was told no. They gave us and approximate cost of $1700 to replace the exchanger. Thank goodness my husband likes to search and confirm pricey things like that. We found a place that charged us $400, the exchange was under warranty still. Some thing this place didn't bother to check on. And the ignitor, it was the wrong one. Update in response to Absolute Mechanical Systems' message to me. When this review was posted we lived in BROOKLINE, New Hampshire less than a mile away from this company. My furnace died on me one day when it was just starting to get cold. Advanced Mechanical Systems came out the next day and gave a free inspection and estimate. Within a couple of days, I had a new furnace installed. I couldn't be happier with their service. They were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, clean, explained everything to me and the instillation looks great! It was a totally stress free experience for me. I don't know Jack about furnaces, but the techs explained everything and even added a new thermostat and carbon monoxide detector at no charge above the estimate. I called because I couldn't take July any more. Requested a quote for installation of Fujitsu split duct. Sold on the system that could also be used as heat pump when temps are above freezing. Installation 2 weeks sooner than their nearest competitor and an outstanding installation team, who had it in a week later in under 4 hours. Left all spaces clean on leaving at the end. Perfectly operation ever since. Tracking household expenses, - this unit costs between $10 and $30 in electricity a month to cool 1600 sf, depending on heat outside. - this unit costs between $10 and $30 in electricity a month to heat 1600 sf, depending on cold outside. So far, saved 90 gallons of oil in heat. Cost savings, oil price minus extra electric, is $300 for 1 year's use. It is winter now, but 40 degrees today. Our furnace stopped working earlier today and it was 24 degrees outside. I called Absolute Mechanical requesting the best possible appointment. I spoke with Tina who had excellent customer service skills. She promised someone would arrive in a couple of hours to check out my furnace. I thought that was a great response. But even better....Kevin arrived at my house 55 minutes later! That's fantastic service! Kevin was great and had my heat back on quickly and assured me that my furnace was completely checked out and well within spec on everything. He also took time to explain everything he did and the problem that caused my furnace to stop working. The bill was very reasonable. Called them to come look at my furnace as a second opinion last winter, I have a very old furnace. The first company said the they wouldn't touch it and I needed a new one and was going to run me about 7k. We were without heat for months last fall and it was a cold one. Kevin came and looked at it and had it running smoothly in a couple hours for a fraction of the cost. The furnace runs more efficiently and kept me warm all winter. They were just there today and did a fantastic job. It still runs amazing! I highly recommend this company. read more
