Back at it again for another excellent service provided by Advanced Imaging in San Marcos! I…read morepromise you all that I'm not going here just because... it was doctor's orders! This time around I got an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) done on my ankle, and I was helped by Cherish. Cherish like the rest of the folks there at AISM, was super friendly and accommodating (more on that later). Let's talk about the service. MRI's are kinda pricey... not going to lie, but what was great was that if you can't pay it all up front, they do offer financial options to split payments so that you don't have to be burdened all at once! I thought was a great compromise that they offered. Once I paid, I was sent to a holding room where they prep you for your MRI. It wasn't anything special, it was really just a waiting room prior to entering the MRI. Cherish offered me a small cubby to place all my metals into (MRI = Magnets = metals need to come off!). SIDE NOTE!!!: Take off your steel toe shoes. I wore dress shoe steel toes and as I got close to the machine my foot flew into air and was pulled towards the machine! I was laughing because Cherish said my dress shoes really only looked like dress shoes and she didn't know they were steel toes! haha Finally, back to the amazing customer service. Cherish offered me a blanket during my MRI which I thought was nice, but where I think she went above and beyond was that she/they offered headphones for you to dampen the drumming sounds of the machine. The best part was that she offered to play any station on Spotify! I've done MRIs in the past where headphones were just noise cancellation headphones (no music). This place definitely puts customer service and excellent customer experiences first. Kinda refreshing to see medical professionals like Cherish (and Marissa in my other review), go above and beyond to make you, the customer, relaxed and comfortable throughout your visit! That part I completely understand--life happens. What I didn't appreciate was being told that I should have called ahead to check whether they were doing walk-ins. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of offering walk-in X-rays, especially when the website says they are available? I called this location before making the additional drive and confirmed they were accepting walk-ins. When I arrived, the front desk person simply nodded at me. It wasn't clear whether she was acknowledging me or telling me to come forward, so I asked if she wanted me to move forward. She just nodded again. There was no greeting, no verbal direction, and no attempt to make the interaction welcoming or even clear. Her demeanor gave me the distinct impression that she simply did not care about the person standing in front of her. Customer service matters everywhere, but it especially matters in healthcare. Patients may already be anxious about why they need imaging in the first place. Basic courtesy and clear communication should not be too much to expect. I would not return to this location. Update: I do want to add that once I was taken back for my X-rays, the imaging experience was wonderful. Daisy, who performed my imaging was kind, professional, and made that portion of the visit a very positive experience. Unfortunately, that does not change my assessment of the front-desk customer service, which was extremely poor and is the reason I would not return to this location.

I had my first MRI today and a couple x-rays. Probably my last MRI. I wouldn't say its horrible,…read morebut the feeling I got while I was in the tube was weird. And it's extremely loud. I'm not claustrophobic, if you are I don't recommend it. I waited about ten minutes before a guy came and got me to get ready for the MRI. He explained everything in the kindest way, but he didn't sugar coat it. It didn't really make me nervous, but maybe some anticipation slipped in. Then came Rene to perform the MRI. She also explained everything, just like he did, but for some reason a calmness came over me. Don't get me wrong, I couldn't wait for it to be done and it went over without a hitch. Then I went to the x-ray room. The girl took four x-rays in 2 or 3 minutes. She didn't have to read anything to know what to do, and she knew what positions I had to be in for the proper x-rays. She floated around like a little dove. This was the first time I enjoyed getting x-rays. I don't want to leave out the two girls at the front desk. As soon as I walked in I started to tell them my name and why I was there, but before I even started with my last name the girl gave me some paperwork that I had to fill out, since I was a new patient. Their kindness was explosive. Longhorn Imaging in Kyle is not your average Medical Facility. It's friendly, caring, and everyone knows their job like they know their name. These people are absolute professionals and they treated me like royalty. Oh yeah, I had to wait for the x-rays because the bureaucrats or whoever, was inspecting the x-ray machine, they probably checked all the machines, and all was well.
