So I needed a manicure after 4 weeks of neglect, saw a placard for a nail salon on Lancaster while out on Saturday and took a chance. Good decision!
I met Kristine, who took very good care of me. Unlike younger more inexperienced manicurists I've dealt with, she has decades of experience as a manicurist and it shows. After having my nails ruined by the rotating sanders they used on me to remove gel manicures in other nearby salons, I was worried a basic manicure would look terrible but she did a fantastic job. Absolutely fresh looking manicure when I left!
I learned she has a group of dedicated customers. I happened to catch her freed up as one customer was finishing up ("She's the best!") and the next one not yet arrived.
She has a lot of knowledge about nutrition, and about ways of improving nail health. My problem has always been dry cuticles, and thin nails. She had lots of suggestions on how to fix these problems.
Before I left she gave me a small applicator with oil without charging me and told me to apply so my cuticles stay conditioned until i saw her again. That's the kind of person she is.
I really recommend her salon. I haven't had such a nice personal interaction in a nail salon in forever.
I suggest you call for an appointment however, she's only open on Tuesdays through Fridays from 930am to 6 PM, and on Saturday from 9 to 4. She does accept walk-ins, but you might have to wait while she finishes up with an appointment. read more
