I'm giving abruzzos benefit of the doubt bc they are active and loved in the community. I came here last night with my friend. Service was wonderful, the space was clean, food was plentiful and came out quickly. We shared the spaghetti bolognese and the lobster ravioli. The spaghetti was ok- I'm just not a big fan in general. I would say this was one of the better ones I've had? It was a bit spicy which was fine just unexpected. The salads and garlic bread were pretty standard, nothing special. The lobster ravioli made me sad. I didn't really get lobster flavor and they were still cold in the middle. For dessert we shared the tiramisu which was good. I'm not a big coffee fan which is why i can't say more about that. Yes, i knew that tiramisu had coffee in it when i ordered it. Texture and flavor were decent. It was a bit frozen which was nice texturally but i don't love them freezing stuff, makes it feel not super fresh. I would come back and eat here again. If I could give this place 6 stars I would!! My husband took me here for a date night and it was such a sweet atmosphere. Our waitress was so kind and very attentive! On top of great service the food was truly amazing. We ordered the bread and spinach artichoke dip 10/10!!! And then we started with the Basil salad, yall this dressing was AMAZING!! All of the ingredients were so fresh and had such bold flavors! I ordered the salmon which was so tasty and the Alfredo which I rate it like a 8/10 (but that's on me Alfredo is not my favorite I panicked when i was ordering ) still very good tho and not too rich! My husband ordered the tour of Italy and WOW!! Chicken Parm was top tier! The fresh crunchy batter was thin and the sauce was rich and savory! He loved the Alfredo and the Bolognese lasagna was incredible! (I have not had bolognese like this since I visited Europe!) My boyfriend and I decided to try this Italian restaurant since it's in our neighborhood, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was off--the music was terrible and didn't fit the vibe at all. The food itself was extremely bland and lacked any real flavor. When my boyfriend asked the waitress questions about a dish, instead of giving us any helpful details, she just kept repeating, "You'll like it, you'll like it." We found that very unprofessional--how can you tell someone they'll like something without actually explaining what it is? We ended up eating most of the appetizer because we were hungry, but even that was dull and uninspired. When we voiced our concerns about the main dish, they still charged us--just at half price--which didn't feel fair considering we barely touched it. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and we won't be coming back. There are much better options in the area. read more

Small intimate space. I realized I was early on a Friday in Dallas (18:30), but after a day of driving, I was craving some Italian. Abruzzo's did not disappoint. The service was kind and friendly and did an excellent job answering questions, and keeping my plates removed. And, human, I did eat. Started with the Frito Miso appetizer, from that to the Angel Hair Pasta with an addition of grilled shrimp. A couple of glasses of the house Cabernet Sauvignon complimented the meal. Was I done? Oh, no. Italian Wedding Cake and a glass of Prosecco and I was in heaven. And a special shout out to John, the Door Dash Delivery fella who was waiting for his order. Just moved to the area. We were looking for something different and closer to the house when we found this gem of an Italian restaurant. The charm of the place is simple adornments one would expect from a classic American Italian restaurant and the food was simply a cut above. My only actual complaint had nothing to do with the food, the staff or the ambiance but rather the warmth. I got over myself quickly though when I remembered that we are in Texas in the Summer. My partner had the Bolognese Lasagna paired the House salad with Basil Gorgonzola dressing while I had the Grill Chicken Parmesan with a salad with the Maple Bacon dressing. From our first bite of salad to our last bite of our respective entrees it was definitely love at first bite until the last. Our service was friendly effortless and efficient. And on one final note the parking is almost nonexistent. I hold nothing against them though. The whole area is very parking deficient. read more

I've been living in the area for a year but never noticed this place until this week. I usually have Mexican on a Friday night but decided to check Abruzzos out. The parking lot is a little pokey but there is also street parking. We got their early on Friday so there was no issue in getting a table. After we sat down, the owner came to greet us and gave us a little back story on the place. The food is plentiful and tasty so I would recommend going there on an empty stomach. After exploring the area and visiting Soultopia my mommy and I stumbled upon Abruzzos and a young man was nice enough to grab a menu we could scan although they were closed at the time. We decided to come back for dinner and upon entry saw that there were only a handful of tables with two other people inside. After ordering some glasses of the house cabernet for $5 I was a little disappointed at the pour as it's customary to fill a typical wine glass at least half way, it was still tasty enough that we enjoyed two glasses each. We were promptly greeted by a young man with warm garlic bread, which was good. Decided to try the smoked salmon spread, had an elaborate plating design and sat on top of what seemed like another sour cream type spread, not sure if it was house made but we had a few bites and decided to take it to go as a midnight snack option. I ordered the lobster ravioli with alfredo sauce and it came out piping hot and was very yummy, mom ordered an artichoke lasagna with grilled chicken on top but her chicken was so tough she could barely cut it, it did have a nice smokey flavor though. Overall considering how small and empty the place was I was hoping to have more attentive service (clear plates and glasses faster especially on such a tiny table etc.) and not have to wait five mins for some fresh black pepper for my salad when it could've been asked as soon as it was presented- but I did love my ceasar salad and altogether we enjoyed our experience! You might pass by this place if you aren't paying attention! It's a small, unassuming establishment close to Bishop Arts, but don't let that fool you, the food is great!! As soon as we walked in we were greeted with a warm smile and offered drinks. There are only about 10 tables in whole establishment. Just so happened that we went on a night when they were offering unlimited bread baskets!! First time here. Parking is very difficult but off street parking is not to hard to find. Came in for an early dinner. Restaurant reminds me of restaurants in San Francisco. Small, quant, and different. Waiter was more interested in putting together to-go meals than waiting on us. We were the only ones there. She finally brought us water and asked what we wanted to drink. We ordered the large Caesar Salad and the Seafood Lasagna to split. The Lasagna was delicious. Generous portions and really good wine.
