To say that she did not want to be there is an understatement. The day we checked our mother in we met with many of the team members who would be in charge of our mother. They were all very nice. The facility itself was nice on the inside and outside. There is one team member that I would especially like to thank. His name is Joshua, and he is the Patient Advocate. He met with my siblings and myself along with our mother, the day she was checked in. During the meeting, he was very attentive to my mother which helped make her feel at ease. He listened to every concern we had for our mother. He took notes and followed through with all of the details and concerns that were discussed. Joshua is amazing at his job! He is professional and has a perfect personality to be an advocate. He is patient, understanding, kind, efficient, and very helpful. One day after a really hard physical therapy appointment, no staff members were able to help my mother be put back in her bed. She was miserable while she waited 15 minutes in a wheelchair. I text messaged Joshua and he was there within 5 minutes. I don't believe this is part of his job description. That is how helpful he is. He sweetly helped her back to her bed (they had to use a hoya to lift her in and out of bed). Next, he helped make sure she was clean and comfortable. This meant a lot to us as we watched him truly care for our mother. This is just one example of his kindness. Joshua was truly a life saver when our mother was there. If we could rate Joshua alone, he would receive 5 stars. He truly was wonderful. The problem we had was that the nurses and aides were understaffed. Our mother was fortunate because we were able to take turns to stay with her. The week I stayed with her, hours would pass with no nurse or aide to check on her. Even when the nurse call light was on, it would take at least an hour for someone to come into her room. One morning she was throwing up for over an hour. The aide was made aware of it. She said she would let the nurse know. No one ever came in that day to address the problem. There were other problems as well. It is our belief, that more nurses and staff need to be hired, if they want their patients to receive better care.

John was in rough shape when he got there, broken L/ankle and R/hip. He was frightened and had a hard time swallowing and the staff gathered around to make him feel welcomed and cared for. Tobe and the dining staff really went all out making sure he got food that he could swallow and just really pampering him during his entire stay. When we would have lunch together in the dining room, the wait staff and often Tobe also welcomed us and took excellent care of our meals. The Office staff was gracious about holding John's room when he had to go back for a second ankle surgery. We paid for the room but it relieved his anxiety knowing that he didn't have to pack up and start over somewhere else. The nursing and therapy staff were wonderful. Without them, John would not be walking with a walker and getting around as amazingly well as he does. I wish I knew their names so I could shout out, but I just want to tell them They Rock! Whenever I go to a public place, I check out the atmosphere and cleanliness, and I have to say the maintenance and cleaning staff do a 5-star job. The buildings and grounds are immaculate! There are a few good nurses but too many are lazy and they aren't well staffed. My mother and aunt were here at the same time. My aunt had a stroke but they didn't want her to go to the hospital. My mom kept saying that she'd wait for hours to get help with anything. I talked to other patients who said that they'd been sitting in their own urine for hours. I also noticed that they leave the dinners sitting in the hall for way too long time before handing them out. The dinners were there when I showed up at 4 and I left at almost 6 and they just started handing them out. You have to stay on top of them to make sure they're giving medications. I heard one of the nurses say she got confused and must have given pain medication to the wrong patient. My mom had been there for over 5 days and they didn't shower her. I saw a couple of times patients that voice frustration are met with more than 1 nurse at their bedside using authoritative voices and it almost feels/looks like intimidation/borderline bullying. This place shouldn't be open but bare minimum needs to management. The photo I am sharing is of all of the doors with lights are patients needing help, dinner cart sitting out full of dinners, and filthy hall. There's 1 nurse and 2 CNAs per hall. The CNA's were MIA and the Nurse was just standing at the end staring at a computer screen ignoring the lights and dinners.

I was fortunate to schedule 7 visits to feel comfortable enough to make a 3 day drive back to Oregon. I've been to several therapists in the past . One for tearing my hamstring. Several others for back issues. By far, True Care has been the all around best. Raymond Popp the owner ( Ray), showed me right from the start that he wasn't the typical therapist who would just show how to do the exercise and walk away without any engagement. Ray would also do extremity manipulation on my legs when they were sore or tight. I haven't had a therapist show me that kind of care and knowledge about their craft. The staff was great too. They were friendly and would accommodate me with water and good conversation. If you're in need of any kind of therapy I highly recommend True Care Therapy and Rehabilitation.
