We used Above and Beyond for our recent move to West Sac from East Sac. I was able to schedule the move with only a few days notice. We had a hiccup in the beginning when an employee walked off the site, but the owner, Patrick, was quick to remedy this and came to the location himself to finish the job. I booked this company through Amazon Home Services about two weeks prior to our Saturday moving date to load and unload our moving truck. Long story short, they never showed up. But that's also because after a 6 1/2 deviation from our originally scheduled time, I decided I didn't want to wait around/take my chances for anyone to not show up and cancelled, taking matters into my own hands. My advice would be to clearly communicate with them and define expectations/timelines clearly because their staff can be unreliable. I had a very bad experience with them not showing up but Patrick personally texted me to try to make things right which I appreciate. I do believe we were the exception to the rule, and the owner is restructuring so definitely give them a chance, but caveat emptor. read more

I highly recommend Patrick and Above & Beyond. Tyrese and Jay were a super team!! I moved from a one bedroom to a smaller one bedroom in Davis. Patrick, Tyrese and Jay were very professional, extremely respectful of my precious pieces and worked efficiently while staying careful. I have never had movers that used so many pads, blankets, wraps and safety straps. I always appreciate a business that makes safety a priority for it's workers. My stuff was really taken care of in this way. Even though I was a tiny job, they all were very polite, well-organized and conscientious. Patrick is very responsive and also double-confirmed with me the night before and the day of my move. Above & Beyond responded immediately and completed my move from a U-Haul to the house the next day. They were fast, courteous and careful. I appreciated the care they took with delicate pieces and even fixed an item that was broken previously. They were able to move heavy and odd shaped items with no problem. I would recommend this business to others moving or with packing needs. The price was very reasonable. There is a 2 hour minimum which seemed reasonable. Since the first review, we have called Patrick 2 more times to move additional furniture. Each interaction has been positive with the last requiring 2 crews and about 12 hours work. I used this "company" to move from Carmichael to Dublin. They arrived late. They arrived wearing flip flops instead of work boots. So much for professionalism! I should have known that if they didn't know enough to be safe with their own physical safety, they would not exercise care and proper handling of my furniture. They promised to bring wardrobe boxes for me to use...opps, sorry we don't have any. Oh well... They took all the hardware and stabilizing wood slats off the back of my dresser mirror. They did not color code or number the pieces SO when they reassembled it, the pieces were not fitting properly and wooden slats were poking out instead of being flush mounted as they were designed. Instead of placing shrink wrap directly around my expensive all wood nightstands and dresser to secure the drawers - they wrapped the furniture in blankets, then put shrink wrap over the blankets! Therefore, the drawers arrived tweaked and sprained; no longer closing properly, bumping one another and sliding opening on their own. Because of the way they wrapped the furniture and shoved it into the back of the Budget rental truck, my furniture had dents, scratches etc... upon arrival. I tried contact the "company" regarding my dissatisfaction after I found my drawers opening on their own. He never even bothered to respond. So, I just want to warn potential customers. This crew doesn't know what they're doing and your furniture is at great risk if you use them. PS - make sure you have Home or Business Insurance that will cover a contractor that injures himself while working at your property or place of business. Moving in flip flops....is an accident waiting to happen! read more

Scheduled these guys for a Saturday we agree'd on a time and had everything planned the day before, Even went out and rented a truck specifically for them because they are labor only. No responses day of just completely ignores me, wont pick up the phone and doesnt respond to text. I text them from a secondary phone just to see if they're ignoring me or actually had something go on and they respond within 30 minutes. Cant trust them to show up! read more

A week ago, I gave this guy three stars and said I'd give him the opportunity to earn 5 stars by keeping his promise to fix damage done in my home, or lose stars if he didn't. It's not looking good for him. Two weeks later he refuses to turn in the claim to his insurance company and tells me that his "buddy's friend" will fix my floor 'for free.' Let me explain... the floor is hardwood walnut, was installed a couple months ago and he wants to have someone fix it for free. If someone wrecked into your brand new car, would you let that person get his buddy to fix it? I offered to get three estimates but he wants to pick who fixes my floor. Let's see how this goes....this would be so easy for him to stop arguing and just let his insurance company handle it..... read more

I hired this company through the HireAHelper website. While they accommodated a reschedule and the two workers showed up on time, I can't say I was happy with any other part of our interaction. Neither worker is still employed there so I might have given them a pass, thinking they did their due diligence clearing out the deadwood, but the owner was dismissive and condescending when I contacted him about the terrible customer service I received from that team. The comment on this from the business is a lie. read more

We needed some extra hands to help us move the bigger furnitures and heavy boxes of books. We rented a 17ft Uhaul and hired two of Patrick's movers Jay and Devin. Mannn, they were like magicians, we were so impressed by how efficient they are as well as they somehow magically fit everything in the truck!! They are real PROs! Before they started they eyeballed everything that we wanted to move, they also thought ahead about the sequence which the furnitures are coming out later. For reference, when we moved in 10ft uhaul a while back, it took us 2 trips, not counting the multiple mini trips we took in our own cars. These guess got all our stuff in the truck and we're able to do it in one trip. Once we got there, the hall way was quite narrow, we weren't sure if one of the longer tables were going to fit in, they somehow made it. One sofa, was long, we didn't think it would fit, but they gave a try anyway, although it didn't fit, but that's great customer service! even the chance is slim, they tried! This is our first experience with hiring movers! After this, we told each other that we're never move by ourselves again! Leave to the PROs! The service we received definitely live up to it's name, above and beyond! Would recommend this mover company to anyone, and would definitely do business with them again! read more

I gave them 2 stars on Google and I should have not! Very bad experience mostly because I discovered items came up missing: Blue Ray DVD player, space heater, a beautiful ceramic plant pot and other stationary items. When I discovered the loss I called the owner (Patrick) to inform him. He pretty much called me a liar! He did not offer anyway to make up for my loss and it was super disappointing. I would not recommend using their service unless you want to chance items missing! read more

What a fantastic company! Calling them a "moving" company would be a major disservice because not only did they pack up our office, they also provided boxes, disassembled furniture, moved everything to the new location, unloaded, unpacked, assembled items and even built our storage room shelves from the ground up. Then they helped us pick up new furniture and assemble that as well as hang items and cart away all the garbage. Patrick and his crew are so great that our Director even used them for his personal move to help unload and unpack boxes in his home. Extremely communicative, reliable, trustworthy, friendly and professional, they will always be our first choice!! Can't recommend them highly enough. read more
