We keep coming back here from Ohio anytime we are in Louisville. Tar and staff great, coffee is amazing. Been coming since first opened.

This place was amazing, I definitely recommend. Coffee was AMAZING. My friend is a coffee snob and really loved it. Vegan Platter was delicious. I especially loved the red lentils. Warning the did have a little spice but nothing crazy at all. Baklava was not my favorite but it was a different style than I'm used to. My friend loved it because it had cinnamon.

Abol Cafe is under the radar but so worth a visit! It specializes in Ethiopian coffee and actually roasts beans right inside the business. Talked to the owner Tar for just a bit today, and he will be distributing his beans and brews too. Abol also includes a set-up for an Ethiopian coffee ceremony, I believe. I'd be interested in learning more about that. It also has food. I got the croissant sandwich, which had egg and cheese on it -- a great breakfast. I also got the Dalgona coffee, which I got when I visited a couple of years ago as well. This coffee was sweet and smooth -- a definite pick-me-up of a treat. I love that Abol Cafe seems to have continued to flourish over the last couple of years. It also can be found taking part in community events. A definitely must-visit if you love coffee!

A quaint little Ethiopian place. I tried this out for lunch and it was good! I need to look up what some of the food is though and the menu is very limited. However it was a great meal. I got the beef tips with cabbage and the injera (spongey bread)!

Pretty strong coffee! My sister and I got the dolgana and iced coffee that had whipped milk on top. Very delicious and well-presented! It would be cool to come back and try some of the food.

I received an enthusiastic welcome at this Ethiopian cafe. It has a tiny indoor space which is graced by a traditional coffee ceremony display. I'm not a coffee drinker, and Ethiopian coffee is strong stuff, but I did go ahead and get a pleasantly aromatic herbal tea. What appealed to me is the option of getting a high-protein vegetarian breakfast dish. Their ful (stewed fava beans) came with ample garnishes and made for a delicious meal. They had a decent variety of food options, and I was offered some dried fava beans to go to make my own ful at home. In addition to coffee and tea, some smoothie options looked appealing as well. It's a very interesting cosmopolitan cuisine, and I'd bet on anything else they offer being good.

We were on our way to pick up some bakery items around the corner and drove by and saw the sign. Ethiopian Coffee? YES, PLEASE! Ethiopian food and coffee are our favorite things to consume. Instead of the bakery items, we decided that besides the coffee we would purchase breakfast here. Once we walked in, we were greeted so warmly by the owner. He was truly delighted to see us and proudly showed us around and proceeded to explain how they do the coffee ceremony when there are no Covid restrictions on capacity. His delight in sharing his customs was obvious and we were so happy we had stopped. They sanitize the tables for the customers, observe social distancing, and really care about your well-being. We ordered breakfast croissants for the family and I asked if it was possible to get something Gluten-free, he offered to do eggs with Injera and Berbere seasoning on the side, and honestly, I have to say it was DELICIOUS. Better than a croissant! We also ordered Ethiopian coffee to go and he gave us some popcorn to go with it, and also bought a bag of whole beans for the house. Incredible service, and I can't wait to go back to order dinner!

Really amazing! The employee behind the counter was passionate and very helpful. Id come here frequently if I lived in the area. I got the dalgona with almond milk and it definitely works together. The coffee part was nice and thickly whipped up. It's made with Ethiopian beans and my goodness, the flavor is one of the best out there. I went ahead and bought some of the camping coffee bags for future outdoor shenanigans. All I'll need is my camping stove and water and I'm set when camping. If you're in the area, definitely stop by here. There's a good amount of tables to get some work done and even a printer to use!

I had never tried Ethiopian coffee, but after speaking with the owner, Tar, I decided to try Dalgona. OMG! The coffee tasted like an expresso dessert without the high-sugar headache. The Organic Ethiopian coffee is low acidic and does not give the caffeine rush either. I can't wait to go back and try another coffee treat. If you go, ask Tar about the history of the cafe. It is an authentic Ethiopian experience.

How fortunate is this community to have a place like Abol open here. You can tell the passion and pride they have in the culture and food, just have a short chat with the owner and let him enthusiastically describe the menu to you. We have been lucky to have been exposed to the amazing Ethiopian cuisine and culture, here in Louisville, in Atlanta, and in Orlando. Their warmth and hospitality shine through and they are always happy to share their culture with you. Abol is bringing their food and coffee, and opening a restaurant/cafe during these uncertain times takes a lot of courage and deserves to be supported. As plant-based customers, we find plenty of options on their menu, they are flavorful, rich, and healthy, served with a warm smile. Abol Coffee will shine with their own light, with their warm service and amazing menu, meanwhile, lets all support this kind of spirit, it is good for Louisville.

Lids don't fit small cups. I've wasted two cups of coffee. Otherwise, the coffee is good and brewed to order.

The menu had quite a few interesting options, but I went with Envy from the Seven Deadly Sins selection. Smelled and tasted great! Reasonably priced as well. There are also pastries and sweets to snack on as well as some local arts and witchy herbs and crystals. I really enjoyed relaxing in the comfortable space and reading with low music in the background and a steady stream of people picking up their brew.

I wandered in yesterday to find this new shop buzzing with lots of patrons. I love the mix of high tops for working with tables inside and outside geared toward talking. Given its smaller size, this definitely seems like a coffeeshop that's good for a grab-and-go coffee or meeting someone to talk one on one, rather than spending a large portion of time sitting and working. Though you could definitely do that here too. This shop has all the faves you've grown to love at Quills Coffee. The dirty chai is my go-to. I also noticed a fun list of seasonal drinks, including an apple chai for fall. It also had a selection of baked goods, of which I opted for a cranberry orange scone. I'm excited to see this stretch of Brownsboro continue to grow. Quills is definitely a part of that!

They had the best decor. You could tell they take pride in their coffee roasting. The place smelled amazing before you even walked in the door. I did purchase some Mexican coffee beans and the barista was so sweet asking me if I needed any information about the different kinds of bean. If it hadn't been closing time, I probably would've. I hated to keep them any longer than we already had. I got a vanilla latte and my friend got a smoothie with whipped cream. My vanilla latte was amazing. I like all the windows and the chill vibe. It's seat yourself, but they do table service. We got empanadas: beef, chicken, and ham & cheese. They're great--just like the ones at Classico Takeout and Empanadas. They were out of the entree we wanted so we got the salmon. It was pretty good. My biggest disappointment was the pizza. Several people recommended the spicy Thai shrimp pizza. It was just okay. I did not taste any Thai flavor. It was basically a cheese pizza with diced shrimp and a drizzle of buffalo sauce. I didn't care for the crust either. It ended up being a $70 dinner that was just okay. If we go back, it'll probably be for the empanadas or fries. It seemed like almost every table got the pomme frites so they must be good.

She offered recommendations when we were indecisive, and made sure each customization was executed accurately. The food: unpredictable. Let me explain: I ordered the gazpacho and the ensalada fresca. Both come with a hearty slice of Blue Dog crusty sourdough. Gazpacho: one million stars. SO delicious - flavor is spot on, with incredibly creamy texture for a vegan soup. Salad: not bad, but didn't blow me away. The greens were tasty, and the few tangerine slices and pine nuts scattered on top added a nice depth. The balsamic dressing was also pleasant. As a whole though, I felt something was missing. Maybe a crunchy or warm element? For a $15 dinner salad I expected more. The pricing: a little steep. I understand the goal is to provide elevated European cuisine, however for the quality and quantity I didn't feel the salad was worth it. That said, I would gladly pay $4.50 all day long for that gazpacho. Overall I appreciate the variety of options, especially vegan and vegetarian menu items. I would consider a return visit for the gazpacho for sure, however the issues above merit shoring up.
