I saw Dr Qureshi to get his opinion on an an MRI of c-spine that had been ordered by my primary care due to nagging pain and h/a. I also consulted with another surgeon at a well-known medical group in S CA After seeing both surgeons, I was so impressed with Dr Qureshi's technical knowledge, calm demeanor, presentation and reputation, that I met with him a second time with my husband present. I underwent my laminoplasty and stayed 2 nights at John Muir Medical in Wslnut Creek. The care there was phenomenal. Dr Qureshi is very respected by the staff there and they commented on his abilities and concern for his patients. My surgery went perfectly and my recovery is still moving forward. I only had to wear my c-spine collar for 12 days and my crsys showed perfect placement of the titanium plates/hinges. Dr. Qureshi saved my life. Dr. Qureshi diagnosed my broken neck after it had been missed by other docs for YEARS. I had a four level involvement in my cervical spine. He went in and did a three level ACDF. This was during Covid and he got me a bed at John Muir the second he saw the danger I was in. One trip, one rear end collision and I would have been a quad. Surgery went flawlessly and I was released in three days. 24 hours I was back again because I had developed a Seroma in my neck that was choking the life out of me. Doc got me in, got me into a private room and they went to work. It was a delicate two weeks. They had to give me steroids to reduce the swelling but not enough to interfere with the healing. He achieved it. Three levels fused and I lost almost no neck movement whatsoever. Almost NO LOSS. He was there checking on me daily. I was well taken care of. He is a good man and a great surgeon. I won't let anyone else work on my cervical spine. Ever. Just him. Doc, If you read this then know I am indebted to you and that in my book, you are one of the great ones. Dr Qureshi is my hero! He performed an anterior and posterior lumbar fusion surgery that lasted 11 hours. 10 years ago I had a lumbar fusion surgery that needed to be redone due to instability (this was with another surgeon). I wasn't able to stand or walk for more than 15 minutes without being in excruciating back pain and one of my legs getting numb. Now, 4 months after my surgery, I feel like a new person! I walk for 1 hour every day and am able to live a more "normal life". Dr Qureshi and his team were very thorough, professional and caring during the surgery time and during the follow-up. My orthopedic surgeon saved my life. He was very methodical to solve the complications of the laminoplasty. The decision to go with the laminectomy saved me from paralysis. I thank him for allowing me to walk again, even with a cane. The infection found was treated by two very strong antibiotics. I have gained full stamina and strength in my extremities. I'm 4 months post-op and my life has totally changed from my surgery. For12 years I've suffered from degenerative disc disease. In February on vacation I could barely walk 100 yards without stopping. Dr Q fused L5-S1 both front and back and my recovery was amazing. Within 3 weeks I was walking 2+ miles every day without any breaks. He explained the procedure very clearly before and made sure I understood the procedure with no questions. Dr. Quershi and Kelsey performed surgery on me in October. From my first appointment through the many I have had since, they have been exceptional. Dr. Qureshi tried a treatment prior to surgery in hopes of avoiding surgery. His aim was not to have to perform surgery if I could find relief in a less invasive manner. Dr. Qureshi performed a spinal fusion revision (L3,4,5, & S1) back in late summer of 2019. There were some issues with the hospital after the surgery and Dr. Q personally resolved them. In fact he gave me his personal cell # if I needed his assistance for any relevant post surgical issues. He has always showed the utmost respect and is a very caring, kind person. It was the worst experience ever. My son has had back pain for months. His PCP said he has scoliosis, so we went to see Dr. Qureshi. We waited one month for the earliest appointment available. The appt was at 4 pm. We waited 40 mins to be seen by him, and he was rushing and talking for less than 4 mins (nothing meant anything that helped or answered for the back pain). My son had 2 X-rays done, one a yr ago and one recent. He didn't even see/notice the recent X-ray until after he walked out of the room. Dr. Qureshi recommended an MRI and PT. Here it is again. The first PT availability is one mo from the time I called. I called the office twice to request the MRI appt, but they said someone would call me. It has been three weeks. NO ONE at the MRI department has called me for the appt. BTW, the Therapy Orders form they handed to me has the wrong patient info. They just gave me one of their patients' names, DOB, addresses, and phone numbers. There goes the patient care and patient privacy. I have high deducible insurance, and I am paying for the consultation out of my pocket. I'm paying $250 for less than 4 mins for his time, and what about my time? I waited 40 mins and still don't know why my son has back pain. I feel like just being robbed. read more

What started as a nightmare turned into pain relief thanks to Muir Orthopaedic and Dr Abid Qureshi. I had back pain for years and no doctor ever took the time to figure out the cause of the pain. Other doctors and specialists prescribed medication, physical therapy, referrals to chiropractor.... but none actually gave me a diagnosis. When I finally made it to Muir Orthopaedic, the proper tests were run and I finally had a real diagnosis. When it actually came time to have surgery, Dr Qureshi and his team were amazing. After 5 years of dealing with a painful herniated disk (L5) and injections weren't working any longer, I was ready for the next step which meant surgery. Up-date 8-3-19, I still have severe pain in the middle of my back, my left leg is still pretty much numb most of the time. That tens unit this so called assistant recommended is pretty much useless. I might as well stick a post note on my back that says "the pain is here". I can't imagine why there are so many 5 stars on this Qureshi's review. My husband had severe pain and numbing on his left arm for about a year. On the recommendation of his primary care physician, he saw Dr. Qureshi who diagnosed him with cervical myelopathy. Dr. Qureshi recommended Anterior Cervical Discectomy & Fusion surgery. He explained the surgery in detail including the pros and cons. He made sure that we understood the procedure. My husband had surgery on Jan 23, 2017. The surgery was a success. My husband is now pain free and on his way to a complete recovery. Dr. Qureshi is amazing. He is patient, calm and very warm and caring. I was able to see him within a week after scheduling. While waiting in the exam room, an orderly came in and ushered me to get my Xray, first. Came back into the room and Dr. Qureshi and his P.A. came right in. Told me what they saw was wrong...and then ordered an MRI for additional follow up. MRI was done within a week and follow up in 2-weeks. Dr. Qureshi discussed my MRI findings in great detail. Although they cannot treat what my condition is, offered an epidural injection for pain relief and told me that my "quality of life" was very important right now, and they wanted to help me with it. Muir Ortho and Dr. Qureshi have been fabulous in the three visits I've had there (Initial meeting, MRI and Follow up). I really cannot say enough good abou them. read more

I have been very happy with Dr. Qureshi. I have scoliosis and my L4 and L5 discs are almost completely degenerated. I live in constant pain. He is a magician when it comes to the epidural. It's like instant pain relief. It depends on how stupid I am (AKA: If I start running again), but it usually last 4 months. He's always very patient and explains what's going on and why he thinks we should approach it how we should. Dr Quereshi is a compassionate and skillful doctor. I can attest to his great bedside manners as he insisted that I cease smoking my 2 cigs in the evening before he would agree to perform surgery and although I negotiated hard, his gracious ways of communicating and clear concern for my health won me over. My medical condition is complex, suffice it to say that the good doctor needed to employ logic, critical thinking & practical decision making to arrive at a plan for my surgery due to my spine being compromised in several areas. He also found a potential problem while looking at MRI scans that no other doctor had caught. He put the kabash on my spinal surgery until I was cleared for this issue. Now, how many doctors can you say TODAY will put their potential earnings on hold for the benefit of the patient? I realize it's a sad commentary on our medical system but hey, that's been my experience on many an occasion. I have a new neck, I'm not pain free, however, I was never promised a neck free of pain but rather; a firmly attached head instead of the bauble head I sported at the time. I need to do more of my own pacing, PT so not a reflection on surgeons work, I'm just a tough patient. If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing ortho surgery, you can at least be sure to have an ethical, honest and skilled doctor in your corner.
