I went in looking for a few low maintenance plants and Cole walked me through several options with real care and attention. I picked up a Hoya Compacta Hindu Rope, a ZZ plant, a Philodendron Lemon Neon, a Bromeliad, a Crassula Jade, an annual, and a six inch Euphorbia Firestick cactus. Every plant looked healthy and well cared for. Since it was a quiet Wednesday morning, I got very personalized attention, but honestly the service here is always excellent even when the store is busy. The staff makes every customer feel valued, no matter how many people are in the shop. The prices are higher than big box stores, but the quality and care of the plants make it worth it. I tried unsuccessfully to reach a manager about my crisp, fire hazard, though he never replied to my calls or email. I spoke to a salesperson named Austin no less than four times; while sweet, he was entirely unhelpful in resolving the issue. There are several great places to buy trees: Eastern Market and the place near National Cathedral, being my favorites. Skip the hassle of buying a second tree - which I did - and go to one of those.
