Went to plug in my Nema 1450 Shore power cord and the pedal outlet was melted. Let the check in lady girl know and quickly two maintenance guys came out for a look see. I told them exactly what needed to be replaced and the part name. The younger one said he will call an electrician to come take a look. I said, tell him to bring a Nema 1450 outlet and replace it, as it's nothing to look at but just replace it already. Now mind you we are already set up and can't plug in safely. They "called the owner" and said the electrician can come tomorrow and that's just not gonna work for me. I asked where is the closest hardware store and again the younger one said "it's probably closed" he's not helpful and he's a minimum effort kinda guy. I called ace hardware and they are open for another 1-2 hrs. Had the counter make sure the part is in and had it ready for pick up. The older one tried to put it in, not having any experience with this type of electrical work. I ended doing it for him as I'm a 30+ year electrician. I may have saved his life - . No notice was provided prior to arriving and it was clear that this was a big job planned well in advance...helicopter used for lifts and a dozen trucks and 2 cranes. Power was out from 7 am to 8 pm. Had we had notice we would have brought a generator but with full hookups we don't do that. At check in nothing was said. The day the power was turned off, We realized all the camp water was supplied by pumps and was not tied to the back up generator, so we're were out of water and again with full hookups we expected water. No water means no dishes, no toilets, no washing hands, etc. Had they said on arrival water and electric was planned to be out, please fill your holding tanks the day before, this all could have been avoided. Upon communicating with the owners it was said "it was posed on the outside door"...so I looked at it, and it only said power would be out. Nothing about the water and there are a lot of things on the windows and doors. I would have expedited that to be shared upon check in and the runs down of the park setup and rules. Great camp and has been for 45 years or more. Poor planning and communication from the owners and staff.

We love staying a little off the beaten path when road-tripping to national parks, especially…read moreplaces where we can cook and spread out. Traveling with three kids and a dog, we also need space and at least two bathrooms, and this place delivered for first visit to Sequoia/Kings Canyon. This location is closest to the Kings Canyon entrance, and the drive is beautiful. If you're visiting in winter, just be prepared. After December, the highway into the park can close due to weather -- this happened to us for a couple of days - snowed before followed rain. The alternate route is possible but very long. We stayed four days and had flexibility, but definitely bring chains if you're visiting in winter. The property has RV spots and rental homes. We stayed in a three-bedroom house with 2 baths with 5 people (and a small dog) for 5 days/4 nights for New Year's and had plenty of space. The home was comfortable, with a full kitchen and included a gas BBQ, dishes, and cookware. A few small things would make it even better: more kitchen utensils and serving plates/bowls, plus extra towels. We were a family of five with a dog visiting during very rainy weather, and towels went fast. It would also be more convenient if the washer/dryer were in the unit instead of shared at the office/library. Important tip: bring all your food and drinks with you. There is no store or grocery nearby, and this is not a "pick it up down the road" situation. The closest grocery stores are in Woodlake or Visalia, about a 45-minute drive EACH WAY. Bee stopped in Visalia on the way in at Winco to buy food. The internet was surprisingly excellent -- fast and reliable. We also loved the wildlife around the property. We saw lots of animals, but especially enjoyed the friendly cats that stopped by and the silly quails wandering around. Overall, this is a peaceful, family- and dog-friendly place with a lot of character. If you're looking for a quiet home base near Kings Canyon and Sequoia and don't mind being remote, we'd definitely recommend it and would stay here again.

Could use some updates for sure. A/C struggled to keep up and the floor is uneven. The tv is old, small and pretty useless. Would not take much to replace with a tv smart tv that streams. We used my laptop instead. The WiFi was strong, as was the internet. Starlink for the win! Be warned, this is a place you come back to after your activities. There really is not much to do or places to eat. Bring food with you to prep and cook in the kitchen. That being said, we did explore the property for 1/2 a day and that was fun. Google the place and its history, then go check out the old airstrip and buildings. That was fun. The lake is more of a dirty pond, you can look at it, but that's it. No swimming or anything. You would not want to. I probably would not return, but I would recommend a first visit if you are up for an adventure.

The location is very easy to find, and they provide clear, exact driving directions. You can see the big board right from the road, which makes it even easier to locate. The park is very neat and clean, with large pull-through RV spaces that make parking stress-free. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the atmosphere is very calm and quiet. The owner is very responsive and available 24 hours, which made us feel well taken care of. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this RV park.

Amazing views, a short walk to some waterfalls and streams, full hook ups on both sides (EG: you can pull in on either direction). The only 2 knocks I have; the sites seem like they could be a little tight if you don't camp with a friend (and have 2 spots together) to get 1 combined campsite. And the terrain isn't really level so there is some adjusting and leveling to be done on your rig. But either way 5 out of 5. We will 100% be back on a later date.
