I hired Nordic in May of 2026 after getting some quotes for a total HVAC system replacement. There…read morewere some minor communication issues throughout the installation of the new HVAC system. I had also accepted the quote for installing some extra ductwork, but they discovered that they would not be able to do that during the installation of the HVAC system. When they discovered that they couldn't complete that, we discussed having an attic fan installed. After the heat pump was installed, I had some correspondence with Sean with questions about the attic fan, and eventually he just stopped responding to my texts. And emails. And phone calls. I haven't gotten a phone call back from Nordic despite being told a couple times now that I would receive a call back. I reached out via email and although I have received an apology and an assurance that someone would be out to fix the drywall hole created when they were determining whether they could install ductwork as well as install the attic fan, I was never given a date or a time. I tried to call and got their voicemail, but then received an automated text message offering to continue the conversation via text, which I accepted. I sent all of my concerns over, and received another apology and assurances that I would hear back from them, I never did. I had accepted the quote because of the promise that I would receive a rebate for installing a heat pump. Between the more sustainable option and the competitive price point offered, it was the best choice. When I reached out by email to offer one last chance for this company to make it right, the response I received did not include any information about the rebate. When I sent the text, I was told I would receive information about the rebate, but I still haven't heard back. And I haven't received the rebate. I'm just so alarmed by the communication issues. The installation of the HVAC system overall was fine and it works great. But the fact that I can't get an answer about the rebate that they supposedly filed for me, along with no straight answers regarding the attic fan installation and the drywall repair, is concerning. I'm just absolutely baffled and extremely frustrated. I have genuinely tried to be patient and work with them, but I can't keep waiting and I want to issue this warning to others in case this is a pattern. If you need strong, consistent communication from the company that you're working with to get your HVAC needs met, this is not the company for you. Or maybe you'll have better luck. Also, maybe beware of talk about rebates.

I found Hartzell through the Rheem website and they responded less than 30 minutes after scheduling. Although I had set up the appointment 2 days out in the evening, when the technician called he said he could come this evening between 5 and 6. He was here right at 5, diagnosed and repaired in less than an hour. As a woman, I'm fairly skeptical when I have to have ANYTHING worked on that requires service from a male-dominated industry. It's been my experience that when someone thinks you know nothing they'll tell you anything. I didn't feel that way at all when the technician told me what the problem was. He explained the issue to my satisfaction and I felt the price was more than fair, I would definitely recommend Hartzell Heating and Air!

Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the lady who answered the phone and made my appointments, but she was very kind, professional and knowledgeable. Matt came to do the maintenance. He showed me how horribly dirty the inside of the furnace was. Yikes! I should mention that our "periodic" maintenance was far from the recommended annual maintenance, and the furnace is old. Anyway, he cleaned it beautifully and inspected it. The air in the house even smelled better. And he recommended having the ducts cleaned.   Alexander came to clean the ducts. He showed me lots of dust and dirt, and apparently animal hair inside. When he was done, I could see how incredibly clean the ducts were, and how much ugly stuff he had vacuumed out. The house smelled even better!  Shortly after the duct cleaning, the furnace stopped heating. The ignition had worn out. It was working when Matt came, but it was just old and happened to wear out. So I had the pleasure of meeting Angel, who came and replaced the ignition the same day I called. I'd give this company 10 stars if I could. They have always provided an amazingly quick response, which I especially appreciated with a cold night on the way. And I was very impressed by the outstanding knowledge and attitude of every one of the technicians I met. They were willing to explain everything I wanted to know, and in a way that I could understand. I highly recommend 888 Heating to anyone looking for excellent heating or air conditioning service!

Matt is by far the best service professional of any kind that I have hired. I researched local HVAC…read morepros for weeks when searching for someone to install a whole home humidifier and called several for quotes. Matt got only gave a competitive price, but was the only one familiar with the Ecobee smart thermostat that I wanted to use to control the humidifier. When I hired Matt, he was extremely prompt, super reliable, and took great care with my installation. My Ecobee thermostat required an extra wire to trigger the humidifier and Matt spent an extra two hours just fishing a wire through my house without having to cut through any walls (which I was very much trying to avoid). It turned out to be a perfect installation and I was extremely impressed with his pride of handiwork. He even refused to bill me for the extra time to fish my new wire because he wanted to stick to his original quote so I wouldn't have an unexpected cost. Plus, on top of all that, he serviced both of my furnaces for free. I don't think it's common to tip service professionals, but needless to say he earned every bit of the tip I gave to compensate for the extra time and attention to detail. Even after the installation Matt was concerned about his customer and followed up with me on how the humidifier was performing. As it turned out, my water pressure was very high and every time the humidifier cycled it would make a big knock through the house. True to character, Matt showed up and installed a device on the water line that quiets the pressure changes as well as some pipe insulation to deaden any residual noise. And then he tried not to charge me! About eight months later we ended up moving for my job and the new home buyer wanted the HVAC certified to be in good order. I reached back out to Matt and asked if he could come by and take a look to certify there were no concerns. He did a full HVAC maintenance of both units and wrote up a letter for me to share with the buyer. And again, tried to say it was no charge. If you're looking for a trustworthy, reliable, honest, and knowledgeable HVAC professional, Matt is your number one choice! He even offered to help me with a virtual consultation after my move if I need it. Honestly, there are a few things I miss after moving out of state and Matt is one of them!

Was looking for a complete HVAC replacement (furnace, AC, and water heater). I like Rheem so I looked at vendors that sold that. Got 3 quotes, and Matt's company far and away gave me the best quote. The whole process (from quote, to approval, to setting up the install) went smoothly and was low pressure and Matt was able to answer any questions I had. Even DenTech's quoting system (which is all online) was so much clearer and easier to use than the other vendors (who just sent email attachments). The install went great--on time and no issues. I am very pleased with the new system. Matt even followed up multiple times to make sure everything is working as expected.

Ryan spent 20 min working with the fixture and said it would need replacing. He did not charge me. I will definetly call him when I decide on my new light. I initially had a positive experience with Top Shelf when they installed my AC and furnace…read more However, I am updating my review because I hired Top Shelf to look at my furnace that was not working. When they came out they pretty much immediately discovered that someone had shut off my gas. They were at my house for a little under a half hour and charged me $250 to turn the gas lever on. When I asked for an explanation of cost they told me they actually lost money on the call because it took the technician 45 minutes to drive to my house due to snow. They also said they lost money on the call because it costs at least $300 to have someone drive to a house and walk in to provide a service regardless of how long they are there or what the issue is. Obviously I had no way of knowing that it was going to snow when I made the appointment/my furnace stopped working or that the technician didn't live near me. I'm still not sure why that would be factored in to the price. I would have preferred to move the appointment if I had known I'd be charged more due to snowy travel times. I would have also like to know that it was going to cost hundreds of dollars regardless of the problem. I was very surprised because I had such a great experience with them before as far as pricing and explanation and felt taken advantage of this time. I value the work of electricians and technicians but $250 to turn on a gas lever in under a half hour seems very steep to me.
