ABC Stores are an iconic chain of convenience and souvenir stores found throughout Hawaii. They are largely concentrated in tourist hotspots throughout the islands. Upon entering at this Kihei location, most employees voice, "Aloha", to welcome the customers. I thought this was really nice. The staff was welcoming and offered to be of assistance in finding anything one was particularly looking for. This store was very clean and appealing. This convenience and souvenir store chain serves as a one-stop shop for grab-and-go food (cold and hot offerings) including drinks/liquor/ice cream, all types of souvenir island home & gifts, and many types of souvenir tchotchkes from keychains to stuffed animals. There is a large selection of beach gear as well as Hawaiian apparel. Prices of the clothing are quite reasonable and the quality good. However, it's best to shop around before buying the macadamia chocolates and other souvenirs as prices can greatly vary. If one is making a large purchase, ABC Stores offer a Gold Card, which entitles the bearer to free gifts or combinations of gifts. Ask an associate for one of their free Gold Cards. This store is conveniently located that has everything you need! From toiletries to souvenirs to a meal! Everyone is friendly and helpful. It does get busy with tourists but that is expected. ABC store has varieties of ready made cold and hot food. I got their adobo pork bowl, sautéed pork bowl and mandarin salad gluten free. The price was so reasonable knowing how expensive Maui Area. This store has everything you could be looking for. It has it all. Souvenirs, convenience items, drinks, clothes, beach items, and good food! Not all stores offer a full kitchen where you can order food made to order. I went to about 3 other ones and this one was the best. It's across the street from a beach, located at a Texaco Gas station. I laughed to see they had a sign for avocado omelet outside, thinking it was made and sitting there, like gas station food. Surprisingly, they cook it how you want it there. As soon as I walked in the employee acknowledged us and they kept offering help as I walked around. Super friendly and welcoming. I ended up getting a breakfast burrito with potatoes. It was cheesy and good! The Chicken teriyaki stick was flavorful. I tried .3lbs of their spicy poke $9. It's fresh and delish. Solid convenience store food. It was within walking distance from where we were staying. They open early, which is really nice cuz the time difference flying here, we are up early and just watching the clock until something opens They have monthly specials as well as daily specials. They also have premade meals in to go containers as well as a selection of fruits and salads from their grab-n-go areas. Also a lifesaver cuz our rental car only had USB-C plug and I only had the typical apple lightening to USB-A cord so I was able to buy a new cord for the CarPlay maps. Initially I had bought the wrong cord but they were really nice about returning the wrong cord and buying the correct one. read more

ABC stores are great for immediate needs. They carry the essentials for anyone on vacation plus plenty of T-shirts and souvenirs at reasonable prices. The staff always greets you when entering the store. Their little deli has good food choices for a quick meal. The Texaco gas station out front is also reasonable priced for the area. read more

Even if there is a lot of customers, you are always warmly greeted. The lines to check out are small and they always have more than enough cashiers. I've been pricing souvenirs and they are competitive with other retailers. Also, save your receipts! If you spend more than $100 you can get a free mug or calendar. I had a number of items from the deli at the abc store. It is hit or miss. My order of prime rib was a miss. It was chewy and not tender like a prime rib should be. It looked good on one side as pictured but the bottom side definitely was on the end and was dry and brownish. Over a week I also had the Ahi Poke, pizza and chill bowl. and The Mac Salad was best thing on plate. Only things I would get again are the Mac Salad and the Ahi poke. Best abc store we have found....deli is the best .... Prime rib is unbelievable....$30 bargain.... One Stop Shop - Kihei location This ABC Store is located at a gas station. Perfect convenience store because it has everything! Located across the beach from Kamaole Park I so in case you forgot your sunscreen, lip balm, beach towel, sunglasses, or a beach blanket just run across the street to this ABC Store... they also have deli food, beer, liquor, sundries and, of course, plenty of souvenirs. Prices are reasonable too! I was looking for some Hello Kitty merchandise for my daughter to bring back home but, unfortunately, none of the HK they offered didn't interest her. Food: I was so surprised with this ABC stores food. THEY HAD PRIME RIB! The price was about $29 and you get sides. My husband ordered one and I got a poké. There was so much in one serving that I I was able to get a few bites in! It was good and i totally recommend you try if you are contemplating! Service:the staff here is so nice! They have much more variety of items (many of which are of course geared towards tourists) that normal gas station stores have on the main land. As ABC stores go, this is one of my favorites. Quick and easy place to get all the essentials and fun goodies. My daughter is Hello Kitty obsessed and they had sooooo many cute things I picked up for her!!! Beach towels, shopping bags, key chains, plushies... all so so cute. We come to this store a lot as we frequent Kamaole Beach Park 1 right across the street. What sets this ABC Store apart from the majority of them is that they sport a gas station. To top that off, since my last review, they've also added their infamous deli and food selections usually found in their more upscale Island Gourmet Markets and Honolua Store in Kapalua. Now you have even more choices like cheeses, meats, breakfast items, fresh deli sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken, local plate lunches and salads. FOOD: Swiss Mushroom Burger - $11.99 You'd think there'd be consistency throughout the chain but there isn't. This exact same burger, when purchased at Island Gourmet Market in Wailea and Honolua Store in Kapalua, tastes good. Juicy, salty, cheesy - hands down my fave mushroom burger on Maui. Here, it was simply bland, dry and tasteless. Even the curly fries were under-seasoned, an oddity as they're probably of the frozen variety and pre-seasoned. Columbus Foods Prosciutto Panino - $7.00 I tried these little suckers on a whim and they've since become a favorite pupu at our beach day. Six pieces of mozzarella and thinly-sliced prosciutto rolled into sticks for the perfect finger food. Pre-packed but deli-fresh and tasty! SERVICE: Service always seems to be consistent though, no matter which ABC Store I'm in - quick and friendly with thank you's abound. There can sometimes be an English language barrier at the deli but it's few and far between. OVERALL: Perhaps I went on an off-day for my mushroom burger but I'll definitely it try again. Bought the Thanksgiving Turkey dinner which included mash potatoes, brussel sprouts, cranberry, gravy, pumpkin crunch and bacon podagee sausage stuffing. Turkey looked dry, but we shredded it for some of our elder family members and it was moist and flavorful. For the price, well worth it. Happy to find this well stocked store to replace my lost sunglasses for a reasonable price. Also found my favorite cold brew and a generous selection of craft beer. Lots of tasty looking grab and go sandwiches, salads, cut up fruit and a damn impressive hot deli. The fueling, parking, pedestrian situation is a bit intense, but we were here twice and everyone navigated the hazards deftly. It's a big ABC store, almost like a mini grocery store feel with ingredients for cooking in addition to their typical ready made hot and cold food. We came here many times to get musubi, we tried their poke (not seasoned enough for us, but that's what the soy sauce packets are for I guess!) and a fun snack I've never seen before (layered corn snack, called turtle chips). It's literally impossible to be in Maui, Kauai, etc. and not come across an ABC convenience store. This one is across the street from Kamaole Beach 1 and we made use of it in a many ways, mostly related to adult beverages back at the WorldMark or the Beach (both across the street in different directions). Gayle also shopped here for a couple "cheap and easy" boxes of chocolate macadamia nuts for gifts back home. This ABC is also full of Hawaii souvenirs including shirts and various tchotchkes, most of which just were not my style. However, I do regret not spending more time checking out the generous selection of local Hawaii liquors and the impressive food/deli options. The store itself was spacious, bright, well stocked and clean, a clear step up from other ABC stores I've visited. All the COVID restrictions were followed, with store staff being friendly and efficient without exception. It was a pleasure just to wander through separately for the heck of it. read more
